This is not an exaggeration, by far the best Jim N Nicks that I've gone to. The meat was well cooked, soft, tender but not too tender that it's falling off the bone. I ate two half slab of ribs two consecutive nights. They service was top tier, I called the first night 5 minutes before closing time for a pickup and the guy too my order happily. I got there and he's looking through the window for me. They had already closed. This guy had a great spirit and was really accommodating. I didn't get his name but he is blonde haired and had a blonde mustache and, he was wearing a hat, hopefully that helps him get the recognition I'm hoping he gets because he was exemplary. read more

The food was excellent! I had the two-meat platter with pulled pork and pulled chicken, along with coleslaw and the brisket chili. Everything was flavorful, and the presentation made the meal look just as appetizing as it tasted. The service was outstanding, especially from the woman at the counter who took my order. She knew the menu well, answered my questions, and helped me decide what to order, which made the experience even better. The restaurant was clean, welcoming, and had a great atmosphere. This location is not playing when it comes to ribs! I'm not really a ribs person but these made me all of a sudden want a full rack of ribs. They were cooked till tender but not too soft and well seasoned. The staff was also so kind! On two occasions we came by right before closing and they accommodated us for a to go order. One employee even stayed a few minutes after closing until we picked it up. The guy was very kind on the phone as well when we had questions. Can't go wrong with Mr. Jim's Combo Plate! My personal favorite meats are the brisket and pulled pork. The brisket is so flavorful and tender. The pulled pork is so juicy and paired with the most amazing sauce. I also really enjoy their cheese biscuits. They are definitely a great way to start your meal! Service and wait staff were good. Dining room was clean and pleasant. Kids especially enjoyed the cheddar biscuits/muffins our server brought out. Everyone enjoyed their lunch and everything was brought out in a reasonable amount of time. Prices are a little steep for sodas, but overall enjoyed our outing and will return. read more

Brisket was all fat and Mac and cheese was fair and small portion and overpriced. Would not recommend. The onion rings were good.

You order first at the front here then sit down with your number and they bring you the food. Not my favorite system but it works cause their whole pitch is quality BBQ "done the hard way", fast! And they deliver everything was tasty that we got they start you off with cheddar biscuits once you get seated. And they are tasty I think I ate 5 or 6 I had the pulled pork sandwich and the brisket. The food is really good, but customer service is terrible. I went to pick up my order that I placed and know one came to the front of the restaurant. I stood in the pickup line when two people came out of the back, not to help any it was to set up one of the cash registers. Then didn't acknowledge and went right to the back. I was standing there for 10 minutes at that point. So to get any attention I had to stick my head into the back. Finally someone picked up my paid for dinner and handed it to me and did even apologize for ignoring me. Only had one register going and there were 8 people in Jim n Nicks shirts standing there talking. Like less than 8 feet away. Food was a lil bit pricey, but I got mah potato salad! The dining room is small. Self serve soft drinks. They have a huge bar where you can get beer, wine, mixed drinks. They had a couple of food runners who brought our food in good time. We only ate about half our food and I waited for like 10 minutes to snag a helper but they were not coming around then. I had to go get take away containers and tea cups. They had to hunt for bbq sauce containers. Eh. It was clean and the food was good, but service sucked. Husband gave it three stars because of this! It was just lacking.... Y'all, I love Jim n Nicks! Been eating at the one in Birmingham for over 20 years. I am so very glad they opened in Dothan, but it is going to be take out for us. We will try it inside again in 6months. The potato salad was good and the Mac and Cheese. I had the pulled pork plate and this is my second time at this specific Jim and Nick's, doubt I will come back when I am in town working again as this is the second time the pulled pork had so much fat in it I almost sent it back. As for the non existent service, again, watched them ask other folks how their dinner was, not me, seen folks that came in after me get the cheddar biscuits, I had to ask. Then they received their dinner's before I did. I have no idea who the manager is as only seen food runners come out, again, sitting here typing this up and no one asked how my experience was or do I need anything. However they can ask others actually sitting right behind and in front of of me. I have had the JNN is niceville which is very good, this one in Dothan as well as Pensacola not so much. This was my first time eating here. The food was fantastic, maybe the best Mac and cheese I have ever tried. The pulled pork was a bit smoky, but still great. The restaurant was clean, with favorable music and large screen TVs to watch sports. It was so full of fat that 50% of the sandwich was not eatable and I even have pictures to show but it's disgusting . If I return to Dothan Alabama, II this will not be a place. Place your order at the register get your drink and have a seat. They will bring out some very fine BBQ we had a large party so between all of us we had 1 of everything on the menu I'm sure. The ribs were really good with a Smokey flavor with just the right pop and pull but very tender. The chicken was amazing , not a dry piece on the plate. The pulled pork was excellent.
