Since I've started going to SKN I've had a few different facials and have made the gradual switch to using most of their facial products line. The facials immediately made my skin feel so much better, moisturized and smooth. I enjoy the calming and peacefulness of the treatment rooms and the professionalism of the staff. I'm sure they're all great but Danielle is my favourite; so knowledgeable, professional, kind and really listens to try and figure out what is best for you. She was able to diagnose and start treating the part of my facial skin I disliked the most right away (melasma discolored skin due to sun/hormones). I am genuinely happy with my skin now. The goal in my mind when I went there was to eventually feel comfortable going without makeup on any given day - mission accomplished! It's no longer something I think about besides when I'm using my products and feeling thankful for them and the hard work they do. I should note one of the things that impressed me the most about SKN was the lack of pressure to buy products. During facials they inquire as to what you use on your skin and appear to try to work with what you've got but suggest a few small changes. I also left my first facial with several samples, which was very helpful as I could see if it was a routine that worked for me (it totally did, very easy). I've also tried their laser hair removal and highly recommend it, minimally painful and again, professional and thorough. Given the quality of the technicians, space, products, service and overall experience I find that their prices are reasonable. They also have an online product store now (pick up or have it delivered) and they seem to have monthly specials on products and services. My experience with Dr. Fung during the filler injection was particularly unpleasant. I asked for numbing cream before the injection However, the cream was only applied for about five minutes before he rushed to start the injections. The numbing had clearly not taken effect, and the procedure was extremely painful. When I asked if we could pause for a moment because of the pain, he refused and continued injecting. It was extremely painful !! The entire process felt rushed and careless. After the treatment, I developed a small hard lump on my chin. It has now been five months and the lump is still there. I have had dermal filler treatments many times in the past and have never experienced anything like this before. This makes me seriously question the technique and professionalism of the doctor. I contacted the clinic about this issue about a month after the treatment, but they simply told me it was a "normal reaction" and did not provide any real explanation or solution. Spending over $4,000 and ending up with a long-lasting lump and almost no improvement is extremely frustrating. Based on my experience, I cannot recommend this clinic!

I had heard such great things about Kam and her services from my friend and upon reading her reviews, especially on how she can treat people of colour effectively, I was 100% certain on going to Kam for my laser hair removal. I was actually ecstatic about my consultation - I wouldn't be commuting all the way from Surrey if I wasn't. That being said, yesterday at my consultation, she was degrading, patronizing, and didn't address the concern I came to her with - laser hair removal. From the get-go all she spoke of was my acne. How bad my acne is. How I can do this, that, and the third to fix it. I sat there listening, knowing what my skin and body are capable of anyway. She did go into depth about hair removal, but didn't address MY OWN hair growth or hair problems. Furthermore, what REALLY threw me off from the entire consultation was what she said to me. She said to me that when I walk out of her doors, I become her client and I represent her business. And she can't have me looking the way that I do (whatever patronizing thing that means) representing her, because it will affect her business negatively. She ended it by saying "we have to fix you head to toe" and my friend who came along with me can vouch for this. I for one am not only looking for a laser hair removal technician, but someone who makes me feel comfortable in my own skin. Hearing additional words such as "we don't just want to be average, we want to be perfect or the best" doesn't really warrant innate confidence, which I have been lacking anyway due to my skin. I understand Kam may have had good intentions and wanted to help, but I felt ridiculed. Furthermore, the fact that I was not given a discount having been referred from my friend (when MY friend is getting discounted services because SHE HERSELF was referred) is absurd.
