Had bad toe nail fungus the drugs are awful and creams dont work but this did , great job Vancouver Medi Spa!

I was reluctant to write this review because usually I don't care. But after last night's consultation and how I was made to feel, I decided to go ahead with writing. I had heard such great things about Kam and her services from my friend and upon reading her reviews, especially on how she can treat people of colour effectively, I was 100% certain on going to Kam for my laser hair removal. I was actually ecstatic about my consultation - I wouldn't be commuting all the way from Surrey if I wasn't. That being said, yesterday at my consultation, she was degrading, patronizing, and didn't address the concern I came to her with - laser hair removal. From the get-go all she spoke of was my acne. How bad my acne is. How I can do this, that, and the third to fix it. I sat there listening, knowing what my skin and body are capable of anyway. She did go into depth about hair removal, but didn't address MY OWN hair growth or hair problems. Furthermore, what REALLY threw me off from the entire consultation was what she said to me. She said to me that when I walk out of her doors, I become her client and I represent her business. And she can't have me looking the way that I do (whatever patronizing thing that means) representing her, because it will affect her business negatively. She ended it by saying "we have to fix you head to toe" and my friend who came along with me can vouch for this. I for one am not only looking for a laser hair removal technician, but someone who makes me feel comfortable in my own skin. Hearing additional words such as "we don't just want to be average, we want to be perfect or the best" doesn't really warrant innate confidence, which I have been lacking anyway due to my skin. I understand Kam may have had good intentions and wanted to help, but I felt ridiculed. Furthermore, the fact that I was not given a discount having been referred from my friend (when MY friend is getting discounted services because SHE HERSELF was referred) is absurd. Nonetheless, I still was okay with the price because it was still reasonable but, she made me feel like she didn't WANT me as a client and that's what she has gotten. read more

I just have to say wow!! I had the nasolabial (smile lines) treatment yesterday and I am so fascinated how much it worked- and in one treatment. I'm really really impressed and happy with these results from one session. Can't wait to go back. Kam is awesome, so extremely knowledgeable and shares every step along the way. I'm very careful who I trust with my skin and with her I feel safe. Also love love love how she addresses it from a holistic view and even gives nutrient tips to keep your skin health in tip top shape. She also is really honest. I have had numerous experiences with various types of laser treatments and none of them have worked. After my first session at Medi Spa I started to see results, the change since I started as been unbelievable! I was extremely hesitant about trying another round of laser treatment, but I am so glad that I met Kam! Very disappointing consult. Responded to an ad online for 'skin tightening' and left the consult with no explanation of what I needed moving forward, what treatment the ad was even for, whether it was a laser or radio-frequency etc, and was told to do face yoga and come back when I stop grinding my teeth. Kam couldn't seem to get her camera to even face the right way and the whole time her face mask was hanging off her chin, not sure why she kept it half-on for an online consult. Very unprofessional and was not even informed about any possible treatments, cost, skin care plan etc. Total waste of time. read more

My friend and I were looking at facial options for a relaxing weekend. So when I saw Medi spa has a groupon I decided to purchase it given the good reviews that I saw here. The groupon came with facial for two and two glasses of wine. We did receive the facial but we were never given the two glass of wine... The facial itself was anything but relaxing. The lady kept talking about her laser hair removal services and when I mentioned that I already have gone through laser hair removal treatment, she told me that the laser I had used was not effective and tried to convince me that her laser removal techniques are much better and that she can guarantee results in 8 sessions. Mind you I have been extremely happy with my laser removal results so the fact that she was trying convince me to use her services was not really working on me. Now, I am not questioning her skills as a laser removal technician but i found her approach of convincing me to use her laser services extremely unprofessional. Besides I was there for a facial not laser removal services.... The facial itself was ok. Nothing too special. Overall, given her unprofessional behaviour and not fulfilling what she offered in the groupon ( i.e. The glass of wine) I don't think I would use her services again. read more

After searching for the best laser hair removal in Vancouver, I decided to go with Kam. Just based off of my first appointment I knew she had lots of experience because she was honest and explained everything to make sure you understood what you were doing to your body. After about 7 visits to Kam I am happy to say that the results I got were better than expected! Kam is the best! read more

Kam is awesome! I always look forward to seeing her. She goes above and beyond to make sure your treatment is done correctly, which is much appreciated. She is super meticulous and strives to zap every last little hair. Also, the Forlle'd skincare has done wonders to balance my skin. The line is pricey... but has been worth every penny for me. I would not hesitate to have treatment done with Kam as I know she will provide the best of care. Not only are her treatments effective and efficient but she also teaches you about what she is doing. I have been to countless number of spas in Vancouver (yes, all the 4-5 star spas in Van) and this is the spa that I would feel 100% comfortable with and confident in recommending to my friends and family. Kam is EXTREMELY knowledgeable that you need to meet her AT LEAST once if you have any skin issues and concerns because she gives very accurate, detailed and honest answers. Her philosophy is very true to heart and very in-depth. She will tell you what you exactly need. Not only will she fix your skin concerns but she will also tell you how you can maintain the skin results that you aspire to achieve so you don't have to keep coming back and spend money which makes her extremely trustworthy. If you are a skin fanatic and love to learn how to enhance your skin, you need to pick her brain. The price is a bit higher compared to some other spas but I totally justify the price for the lasting results, fast results, and useful information that Kam gives me. I finally went in and got facial laser hair removal done. Kam made sure my hairline all over was even and complimented my face shape. I also had an initial shaving session done as I've never shaved my face before, which is necessary to prep for the session. Overall, it was quick, relatively comfortable, and seemingly effortless! Also, her prices are so reasonable for someone who is reputable! Can't wait to come back for my next session and most likely other treatments in the future :) read more

Not the best experience. I had a laser skin resurfacing, and it was extremely painful. Even though I have mentioned that it hurts so much to Kam, nothing was done to ease my pain. After the procedure and reading some suggestions before and after the treatment, I realized that Kam didn't apply any pain relieving cream BEFORE the laser treatment that would have helped me to decrease the burning pain on my face. She was late for my appointment, and hurt my face so much that I was physically traumatized after that pain even if I am pretty good at handling different levels of pain. LOVE Kam! It's hard not to! She's professional, extremely knowledgeable and isn't afraid to tell you no if she feels like a certain procedure won't be the best fit for you, which is invaluable. There aren't a lot of people in the beauty industry that will be honest and real with their clients. Instead they will play on your insecurities and see you as a transaction. I had a micro laser peel and some fractional laser done just before xmas. I waited a month to check out the results on my skin and they are excellent! Though I do know it takes multiple treatments to get full results, I can definitely see the improvement. Kam is very thorough and a great value compared to other places. The woman who owns this Medi Spa ruined my hairline. One side is COMPLETELY different than the other side. She went too back and it looks SO unnatural. Honestly, stay away from this place. She is so over priced for what she actually delivers - for laser hair removal at least. Yes, she can talk and has a great "sales pitch" but do not be fooled. She bad mouths other people who are in the same industry as her and goes on about how her laser is so awesome. She told me after 6 treatments I would have no hair. That was a complete lie. I have found someone better who is helping me grow back my hairline. I wish I never ever came to this medi spa. DO not go here for laser. You have been warned. Update: I have read your reply. I am protecting my identity because I have every right to do so. This is not a "fake" client. I do not want my money back either, keep it please. What really upsets me is that you never offered me receipts, I was stupid not to ask either - that is essentially my fault. However, like I mentioned in my original post I have found a new laser technician and she informed me that only a 5 percent tax is charged to a service. I was charged 12 percent tax with my services with you. How is this right in the business world? I had no idea, I just assumed 12 percent tax. YOU charged me 150 x .12 gst/hst - a total of $168. When it really should of ONLY been 5 percent. As a business owner, I am sure you knew the tax on a service is ONLY five percent. Why didn't you tell me? Why was I charged 12 percent? This is my experience I had with this medi-spa and I think I should share it. I am disappointed in this spa because I felt I could really trust the person who owns it. I feel taken advantage of. Now that I have been to the Medi spa a couple of times for laser skin resurfacing and a laser peel. I would recommend Kam to anyone. She very professional and knowledgable of what treatments would work best for my skin. In just couple of treatments my skins texture looks smoother, clear and the tone is more even. Kam is my next door neighbour, so of course I am going to try out her services... The place is cute and beautifully finished so it was a plus! I usually go all the way out to Coquitlam to my laser girl with my friends, but decided to stay local this time around. We were not disappointed! I have sent over 4 girls to Kam, each one of them having a more than perfect experience. I decided to do the hair on my face and upper lip (who wants noticeable peach fuzz on your face?), as well as my underarms and Brazilian - I was sooooo frightened that the laser would be unbearably painful like it usually is for me... but when Kam did a test patch on my arm, I was so tense and was expecting tiny knives jabbing me, but was pleasantly surprised when all I felt was a very cold object running up my arm. This was all I felt! I was giggling the entire time, only because I was still expecting to feel the pain somewhere during the treatment... yet I didn't feel a thing for my underarms. When it came time for my Brazilian, I was sure this is where I would feel some sort of discomfort. Again, NO PAIN! The laser felt so cold that it was actually soothing and relaxing. Kam is very knowledgable in the laser machine, as well as the facial products she carries and is very easy to talk to. I even felt comfortable when she was doing my Brazilian, something that usually isn't the most comforting of services. I am glad Kam decided to move in next door, and can't wait to get my legs and arms lasered as well! I am on the road to a hairless body, and Kam is going to help me get there. Thank you! read more

Kam at Vancouver medi spa has changed my life, I was always super insecure about the hair growth on my face and after researching extensively I came across Vancouver medi spa! Upon my first consultation I was feeling very comfortable, she has the knowledge and experience in what she does and educated me well in the types of services I was looking for, she's never pushy and has never made me feel uncomfortable. After my first full facial laser hair removal session I saw instant result! The hair was hardly growing back and now after 5-6 sessions I barely have any hair growth!!! So I went in for a free consultation and the owner was definitely knowledgeable and professional. She had a wealth of knowledge and it was going quite well. The only thing I have to criticize is my final quote. I ended "needing" so many procedure for my acne scars. My acne scars are not that severe, yet she had me down for 4 or 5 types of laser penetrations. So people who are going, do your research and you'll be fine. read more
