The Foley, AL location of Piggly Wiggly has an above average selection of beer for the area and actually seems to have the overall best selection in the area. This store also has a great selection of frozen veggies which sadly a lot of other stores just don't seem to carry. This is an older store but they do offer a lot of things the newer places don't have. They have a dedicated butcher and a dedicated seafood counter. Have always gone there, decided to get the app so I could finally get discounts without the teller having to put in their code for me to get them, I have had several people previously in the check out line that tell the teller to void the item rang up because they didn't get it for what they see the sale price was. The teller put in my phone number and they said it was excepted. Clipped coupons, did what I was supposed to do. Did not get discount, probably would have saved me $20 or so. Check out was busy so I said I would go to customer service. Went to talk to the guy that was at the counter, after I waited for him to stop chit chatting. I explained what had happened he apologized and I showed him my phone. He just stared at it and said, I'm sorry??!! I told him to forget it and I just won't come back, he said I'm sorry. I said on my way out,"if you were sorry you would have done something"! I truly believe he really didn't know what to do? I hope to goodness he wasn't the manager!!! I've been in management for 30 years and I have never had such an incompetent service person? I frequent this piggly wiggly at least 3-4 times a month and never leave there without spending over $100, I know that's not much but this day and age everyone is trying to be frugal. I stayed in Foley/Gulf Shores for a Month, there are A LOT of grocery store choices here (Walmart, Publix, Win-Dixie, etc.) PIGGLY WIGGLY IS BY FAR THE BEST. Here's why: the store is pristine. It is the ONLY store with GULF SHRIMP. We're on the Gulf and we couldn't find gulf shrimp! It is excellent too. We got OldBay and Corona and made our own boiled shrimp from then on! They have a large deli, the pulled pork sandwich is really good for $2.50! Plus, the beer selection is nuts. If you like a specific beer it's likely they have it. We found original Heffe! Finally, the butcher who had been cutting meat since he was 6 yr old, sold us the best ribeyes for the grill. We went in for fillets and he said okay... but if you want the best here get these. They were amazing. Every employee was proud to work there and very proud of their store. They were all so kind and friendly. I never thought I'd write a review for a grocery store, but this Piggly Wiggly in Foley made the 2nd two weeks of our stay so much better than the first two. I live in Los Angeles, CA. I was here visiting family and had seen this grocery store as we were coming and going. I liked the little piggy with the cute little hat. How can you say "Piggly Wiggly" and not chuckle? It's such a cute name!! My husband & I decided to pick up a few things. There is another grocery store across the street, but I liked the name Piggly Wiggly, and we came here. I heard the prices in this store were a little less expensive than the competitor. I was glad to hear that! Piggly Wiggly actually has their own label on sodas. There are T-Shirts with the piggy on it for sale. We found everything we were wanting plus things we didn't know we wanted! The store has a good layout. It was easy to find things. The best find was the BBQ Pulled Pork Sandwiches in the Deli! At a whopping $1.78 a pop, they are very reasonable! Everyone raved about how great they were, too! Next time I am in Foley, I will do my grocery shopping here! read more

My friend and I went in tonight to get some items. We checked out with Deborah who couldn't have been more sweet or kind. She asked us if we were out of towners and made great small talk with us. She then told us to enjoy our stay here and even wrapped my ice cream in a napkin. As we walked out she and her other cashier next to her wished us a good evening which we appreciated. Go for the butcher and beer/cider/wine selection! It's the best of anywhere in Foley/Gulf Shores/Orange Beach.

Not impressed. This store is dirtier than Winn Dixie. Prices are astronomically high. $9 for a coffee creamer, ridiculous. The bathrooms are absolutely disgusting, and there was mold all over the cold cases. This store is a health violation waiting to happen. Oh and they charge a 10% fee at checkout. On top of 10% sales tax. So you're paying an extra $20 per $100 of groceries. Never coming back here unless I want to breathe in mold and give away money read more

This is not my favorite grocery store plus the extra charges make things cost about the same as other groceries.. But they did remodel this store and it looks so much better..they have the new fish market in the back which is now my go to place ,all the fish we have gotten here is really good... we do not buy out of the counter tho ,there is a huge freezer with cryo packed fish..if u do get the Argentina shrimp out of the counter they steam and season them for your..we have done this twice..they are sooo delicious.. I also looked at their meat counter ,Angus beef looked good so got a chuck roast just to try.. they added a salad bar and hot bar so we purchased a few things there..The mac and cheese is so tasty as is the baked chicken and yellow rice ..I got a salad and did not like the fried chicken pieces,they were very tough and dry..however they do have several other types of chicken for on your salads..I just think I picked the wrong one..all in all the store really looks nice after the remodel.. read more

BEER, BEER, BEER. I'm a craft beer enthusiast and a bit of a snob. I asked some friends what bottle shop I should stop at on my way to Gulf Shores. Their reply was Piggly Wiggly. After I changed my pants because I pissed myself from laughing at the idea that Tha Pig could have anything decent I decided what could it hurt since it was on the way. This is the go to place in the area for beer enthusiast. They have an amazing selection of craft beer along with a make your own six pack with plenty of great stuff. This is an older store, but was clean and well stocked. I have never shopped at Piggly Wiggly before, and for that matter any grocery in Alabama, and one thing that this store had that I have never seen before was beer on tap!
