Publix is a joke and they have lost my pharmacy business and groceries. You got to be saying why, I have used the Foley, AL Publix to get my prescriptions filled I would order my prescription testosterone, they would fill the order but didn't have the needles or syringes. They would tell me to go to the other publix in gulf shores if i needed the needles and syringes. Tonight I go to Gulf Shores Publix a 10 mile round trip and they don't have the needles or syringes. What do I do drink the medicine? They Publix is after the god almighty dollar they shouldnt ever sell the product without communicating. Poor customer service. They have lost a customer for life. A nice Publix located in Gulf Shores. Publix continues to expand throughout the southeast and that is good news. Fish Florida Bourne company truly sets the bar on what a supermarket could and should be. They have some great BOGO (buy one, get one free) deals, incredible customer service and we cannot forget their subs, affectionately known as Pub Subs. Publix is my go to supermarket, whether I'm home or on the road for business. I strongly recommend this location or any of them. read more

I really like my local Publix, and actually created its Yelp page with a glowing review. It's still a great shop for groceries, meats, and especially the bakery. They will bake up sugar-free items or other requests every day if you just call them in the early morning, that's a service not available at most grocers. But, I'm writing the review to talk about their custom sandwiches that we really love. First off, they use Boars Head meats, which are great, but there's a store brand option. Boars Head has long been my choice for grocery and gourmet deli meat because their a 5th generation US company that makes good tasting stuff with lots of options. (review for this company is in my drafts :-) Secondly the Finally the outstanding app that lets you custom half or full sub on white, whole grain or on flat bread either cold, pressed or toasted with a choice of 7 cheeses, 20 toppings or extras and 9 sauces. You can also make it a combo with a big selection of chips and drinks and here's a cool convenient feature, build it, pay for it, choose the time (usually with 30-45 minutes), then just walk over to the deli, pick it up and you're in and out on your way. You can choose to pay for it at the store but then you have to fac lines and time, whatever works. Of course you can also have them make one or more of these sandwich treats while you're in the store. (I have done that before and they made my sandwich while I showed, cool!) My favorite is "The Ultimate" and my sweetheart's is the low sodium "Turkey". Bottom line: If you have doubts go to one of their south Florida during lunchtime and you will find locals dutifully waiting in line for one of their freshly made Boars Head subs. once again, the Bakery Section of this store has screwed the pooch. Each year for our anniversary, we order a small custom cake from this Publix. We are usually happy with the result. however this year, contrary to Publix advertising, the woman that took the order refused to accept any custom additions to our cake. And, she was very disagreeable about it. After picking up the $25 cake, we tasted it and found it to be both bland and uninspired compared to tne past. Why does Publix hire these people that really hate their jobs. We shop at Publix and pay the higher prices because of service, but this store has rapidly declined in terms of service, especially in tne bakery. On the positive side, they still employ some of the older employees that go out of their way to give excellent service in the Deli. Lou read more

Publix is a very excellent grocery store neat, friendly staff, & well-organized aisles are kept neatly well stocked. They don't offer as many deals as Rouses or other competitors. But they still have a number of reasonable deals. Expect some premium products offerings that are sure to be a hit. When guests come over or you're just having a family meal. That will have them Raving during any meal of the day. Their potato salad is definitely worth every penny. I find it better then most restaurants. Not only do their premium products have me raving. I also love their selection of other products that competitors don't carry like non-alcoholic Coors Churico (portguese sausage) and bottled sodas. Just to name a few of wonderful offerings in stock that definitely have me raving. They might be a bit more expensive than their competitors. But that will never stop me from shopping here. You get what you pay for. You are paying for quality and it's worth every penny well spent. I can never say enough good things about their staff. They're quickness inefficiency in checking out customers groceries is impeccable. I can also say the same about many of the depts. This Grocery Chain is fantastic! I live in Memphis and only have Kroger grocery stores. They are the worst. Publix is so well organized well kept and CLEAN! The employees take pride in their jobs and their store. I will always shop at Publix where I can find one Publix please, please come to Memphis and open 2 to 3 stores. After a surgical procedure I went into Publix to wait for the pharmacy to open to get a prescription and skip he was manning the self check out was so incredibly compassionate. He wanted to carry the little bag of groceries and found a place for me to sit until the pharmacy opened and said if I needed a ride home he would be happy to arrange one for me. I got more compassion from someone I didn't know from any of the people that I do know from down here. read more

American are faced with extremely high cost of fuel and goods. The Publix in Gulf Shores is gauging people. We arrived in Gulf Shores for vacation and visited Publix to purchase a weeks worth of groceries and we were stunned by the high prices. We then found a Walmart and were thrilled to find their prices reasonable and consistent. Shame on Publix for gauging the vacationers and local Gulf Shores residents. read more

I love publix..it is a beautiful store and that bakery..everyone is beyond helpful and friendly..some things are pricey but they do have buy one get one ,in the meat department a lot.. they also have a sushi counter with packaged sushi or they will make whatever you want.. the deli dept has Boarshead meat and a sub counter that make delicious subs..they have a soup counter,the chili is so good..the fresh fish counter is also awesome..they are building one in Foley ,I cant wait.. read more

Yesterday, 9/19 at Gulf Shores Publix store I purchased 2 cases of eggs, the cashier opened 1 of the case to check for damages and it was fine but 2nd case she found one of the egg had a chick (dead) was trying to hatch the top of the egg shell was cracked open....chick inside was growing (but dead) ..... I cannot eat eggs anymore!!! Thank you for training all the cashier to check every egg purchase to open the case to check for broken eggs (give 5 stars!) I will be finding out when I get home and open the case and I will be very sick in my stomach.... So I wonder, is this Publix fault to not keeping the temperature for Daily product up to the code or "Nellie's Free Range Eggs" fault? The egg was in incubating stage in somewhere.... read more

I love my local Publix at Foley Alabama, I do have one complaint. I bought an egg salad sandwich there today and there was way to much mayonaise and not nearly enought boiled eggs and pickle bits. I was more like trying to eat a mayonnaise sandwich. read more

This location longer accepts cash at self-checkout. I like using cash because it helps support our local economy rather than send a 4% processing fee to some bank. I don't want to wait in one of the two checkout lanes that are open behind Betty with 400 items in her cart. I like Publix, but I'll have to shop somewhere else. read more

My sister had just lost her husband and she was very emotional when we asked the bakery if they could prepare a deli tray. The kind staff at Publix not only made us a same-day tray of meets and cheeses (usually this takes 24 hours), the manager himself brought it to us as we shopped the aisles. He had tears in his eyes when he offered his condolences & said there would be no charge. We circled back to the deli to thank the kind staff and they came out and hugged my sister. This is why Publix is my favorite grocery store. The company and its people truly care about customers as if they're family. A very nice Publix. It is clean with well stocked shelves. Sale prices can be excellent, but other things can be very high priced. Taxes on groceries in AL are ridiculously high, but it's not their fault. I like the small fresh spinach & vegetable salads. They usually last a few days, because they are actually pretty large (considering how much spinach they can jam into a small container). Spinach is good. Eat more spinach! The customer service is always excellent, mannerly and professional. read more

What had happen to this store? I'm a local and I shop here 2-3 times a week, or should I say ...I did shop there. People are not friendly there anymore, it use be so nice to go to a store and feel welcome. The last 3 times I have shopped there I have noticed the store is becoming like a Walmart, just get the customers money and get them out. I was a little nervous about being out during the corona virus, but found the store very clean and the employees very friendly and attentive. The store was fully stocked with fresh fruit and vegetables, meat, and dairy products. The only shelves empty, of course, were paper products and disinfectant products. The store always has a variety of sale items. My only complaint is that some products are very overpriced. read more
