They are well known in the local area for their BBQ and catfish, so I wanted to give them a try based on their Google reviews. The staff was friendly and helpful will I was ordering our food. They have indoor seating, no Wi-Fi network available. We decided on their brisket sandwich basket and their catfish basket. We truly enjoyed everything we ordered, but the brisket was kinda of fatty. But besides that the brisket had more fat than I'd prefer, it was very moist and not too dry. The catfish was very good, and their French fries were homemade and very tasty. No private parking lot, but there is available street and nearby parking lots available. I'm sure that we will be back in near future when we visit this area again. read more

I drove all the way from Myrtle Beach to get here and the food is wonderful. I never expected to go to Lake City for excellent catfish and barbecue. My wife loved the salad. She loved the black and blue salad which is sirloin and blue cheese. This is my second time eating here. My niece loves the wings from this place. The first time I came, I had the pulled pork with sides. It was delicious and well seasoned. This second time we had the lemon pepper wings. The wings were crisp and the flavor was truly lemony and peppery! Sometimes lemon pepper wings are salty and there's just a hint of the actual flavor. With these you can taste fresh lemon and pepper. We also had hush puppies and the honey butter that came with it was divine. They have an extensive menu of bbq and seafood with specials. Be prepared to wait when you go here since they prepare your food to order. Customer service was ok. We were greeted upon entering and that was it. We stopped here for lunch. Service was prompt & the food was good. We ordered a Catfish Dinner and a Catfish Basket for two of us. The restaurant does add a service charge to your bill if you pay with a credit card. The street in front of the restaurant is one way with parallel parking on both sides of the street. I called to place an order for a later pick-up and was put on hold for nearly five minutes @ 11:00 am, which is understandable during these times. We ordered one pulled pork sandwich with fries and slaw and one brisket sandwich with the up-charged $1.49 sweet potato fries and slaw. Firstly the pork had little to no smokiness and was on the dry side. I wasn't able to use the included bbq sauce because it was so overly sweet and had the consistency of watered-down ketchup. The oil used to grill the bun was grossly unappealing it left a rancid after taste and had to be thrown away. The thick-cut fries included were tasty, but limp which I prefer, and the slaw was delicious. The brisket sandwich contained three thick slices of brisket with zero bark, no smoke flavor, and was chewy; far from fall apart tender. I suspect they serve a brought-in product from a distributor or the cook lacks patience and experience. The upgraded sweet potato fries were shoestring cut, overcooked and inedible. For anyone who prefers limper fries (like myself) and good coleslaw, this is the place for you. If you are looking for smoky BBQ, you might want to look elsewhere. read more

We have visited this restaurant on 4 separate occasions. Not once have we received the correct order but was optimistic that with experience they would improve; however today was noteworthy. The restaurant is clean and MOST of the staff was pleasant and friendly; however, Shannon, who was said to be the owner, was exceptionally rude and disrespectful in every way possible. We were one of two customers in the restaurant at the time. We placed our order before anyone else and waited for our order. Note one item was an appetizer but once again after the meal was served. The other customer who was after us by approximately 5 minutes received their food and a "to go" food order prior to us receiving any items. When asked about our order the young man at the register inquired and a very rude lady came with two baskets and threw the food on the table and said to the young man as she walked back to the kitchen that she would not deal with us. Then following my cancellation of the oysters and a request for a refund for them they were served (5 minutes later and no refund).
