We supplied almost 30 blankets to help protect our belongings; they had tape and rope. We had 2-16' PODS, which was ample space for our things, we arrived in El Paso with 23' ABF trailer that still had space in it. The only additional items to this move were the washer/dryer. The packers looked around, then just randomly started putting things in the PODS. I have never seen such a crap show! In the end, we had to give away...1 floor lamp, our safe, the mirror to a dresser, our patio table, a desk, and a few small items. Our vehicles were already packed up. There was plenty of space in the PODS as I could see from the back to the front. But I was told not to worry, they are the professionals. (?) I asked them to make sure to wrap my curio as it was mostly glass. Oh, sorry we have to more blankets. I offered large cardboard sheets to place around it. Once our PODS arrived at our new home, the doors wouldn't open and the load had shifted that much to block it. The team of movers arrived to unload and had to take pictures before they began so to be sure not to be liable for any initial damage that they saw when the PODS were open. They also took pictures as they unpacked it. Yes, it was bad. The placed a table saw against my curio which scratched the finish in various places as the cardboard they used was just crammed in there. They used packing tape to hold doors and drawers closed which caused the finish to come off with the tape. All 6 of my dining room chairs have scratches and gouges, my daughters new bedroom set has scratches/gouges and chunks missing, my refrigerator had deep scratches, Plastic storage bags I used for bedding/blankets/etc. where ripped open- I thought they would use them for cushions, totes were piled so high they collapsed and fell over. The unloading company was in awe when they started and said they were sorry (for something they didn't do) this happened. I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND RJS TO ANYONE. IF I HAD THE HELP ON MY OWN, I COULD HAVE DONE A BETTER JOB. WE HAVE MOVED ALOT AND I KNOW HOW IT GOES AND WHAT A GOOD JOB OF PACKING LOOKS LIKE. THIS WAS NOT IT. THEY SUCK!

Relocated from El Paso to the Northwest. During pack out, everything was removed from any containers and repacked into boxes, this was done without any sense of organization, liquid cleaning products in with foodstuffs and family photos (now ruined) electronics and clothes with the kitchenware. Items are packed haphazardly, as if a six year old was given a roll of box tape and scissors and left alone with a stack of cardboard for a couple hours. My cheap target suitcase was carefully taped and wrapped in bubble wrap (3 layers thick requiring the jaws of life to remove) while my 40 inch LED tv was put in a custom cut thin cardboard box with a wad of paper on each side. Plan on buying new furniture and heavily insuring your move because if your move is anything like my experience, your box spring will be collapsed, bed frame repeatedly slammed onto the back of a flatbed truck that's too small for all your belongings until the runner boards are scratched to hell and the finishes ruined and snap off at the ends. Pretty much every peice of furniture arrived with new marring/cuts or excessive damage to the structure of these pieces. I'd like to personally thank Thomas for reassuring me prior to the move that he "wasn't sure what companies you moved with before but we are extremely professional and you have nothing to worry about." As well as a special thanks to Carlos and the wonder-bunch for not only taking almost an entire day to pack up a one bedroom apartment that was laid out like a military inspection, but for his diligent non-existent oversight into the safe packing and handling of all my stuff. Suck it ITO.

Pros: - Price was low - Klaus was always very polite when we contacted him. - ITO used a local company to deliver the shipment the last 6 miles. They were very good; on time, polite, strong, organized. - Nothing was damaged. Cons: - Shipment arrived 4 months later, instead of estimated 2 months. - ITO's responses to our inquiries about the status of the shipment were slow and often "I will check into it" or "don't know what happened". For example they attempted delivering and ended going back to Seattle with the shipment. My understanding was that the large truck did not want to take the liability of delivering into a private neighborhood???! They marked the shipment as "Delivered" and nothing happened until we started following up. We did not even know that they attempted delivering. After it arrived to USA, we knew that it cleared customs (had to pay the fee), but where it was, nobody seemed to know. - Both of us work, so we wasted 4 vacation days and canceled several trips due to the potential arrival of the shipment. - email was a slow way to communicate with them. Calling was the best way. To summarize, the biggest thing was the uncertainty and lack of updates from ITO which had a large affect on our lives. Our son and his wife ended up renting all their camping gear for their wilderness trip because their equipment was in this shipment which was supposed to arrive in 2 months. They allowed 3 months for the shipment to get here before their trip. Mirja W.
