I still highly recommend Kathy to everyone--especially people who may have chronic injuries as well as dancers.

The class options and times make it easy to show up, the studio is spotless, and everything runs smoothly without feeling rigid or cold. What really makes this studio stand out is the instruction. The teachers are paying attention. They correct your form, they want you doing the workout correctly, and it shows. This isn't a "do your own thing in the corner" kind of class. You feel guided, supported, and challenged in the right way. I especially loved my class with Emily. She was able to gauge exactly what I was doing incorrectly and came over to help me in a way that felt thoughtful and encouraging. I genuinely appreciated that level of awareness. They also make an effort to remember your name, which tells you everything about the culture and how much they value customer satisfaction. I leave class feeling stronger and mentally clearer every single time, which iswhy I keep coming back. If you're even on the fence about barre, take one class here. You may get hooked too.

The classroom size is pretty big - about 20-30 people and they have a livestream too for people joining remotely. Restrooms are fully stocked with deodorant, perfumes, etc. The class itself is a mix of abs, stretching, and easy workouts (imagine pulsing a 2 lb weight 50 times). Parking was easy as there's paid parking structures nearby all around. For class, if you find the Pasadena city owned parking structures, it's just $1 to park for the hour and change.

The studio recently won the Sportsmanship award at a recent competition and that really showcases the values of the studio. Not only that, they focus on my daughter's growth. When all the pressure of being a teenager hits, I can meet with the studio owner and get help working through it...whether it be taking a break from dance classes for a week, or great mom advice. My daughter has trained in a wide range of styles--jazz, lyrical, tap, and ballet--and the quality of instruction across the board has been outstanding. The teachers and staff are not only highly knowledgeable, but also genuinely warm and supportive. They create an environment where dancers feel encouraged, challenged, and valued. Being part of the competitive dance team has been especially meaningful. It's helped my daughter grow tremendously--not just as a dancer, but as a person. She's gained confidence, discipline, and lasting friendships. One of her absolute favorite experiences each year is performing in The Nutcracker. It's such a special opportunity, and SMDC makes it feel magical while still maintaining a nurturing, positive atmosphere. We're so grateful to be part of such a loving and dedicated dance community. I highly recommend SMDC to anyone looking for a studio that combines excellent training with heart.

I also like to run and the classes are the perfect strength training regimen to support my running. I've noticed some other yelp reviewers complain about the lack of friendliness in the studio and I can understand that. It's not Soul Cycle and you're not going to get a sermon with your workout. I do feel that the front desk staff is always warm. When I was able to go more consistently and pick my classes, the instructor knew my name. My schedule doesn't allow for me to take the same classes and see the same instructors anymore; I go when I can. The workout really can't be beat and the social aspect of the studio isn't that important to me so I don't mind letting that go. I would like to note that the co-owner, Alex, couldn't be nicer. He helped jump start my car after I left my lights on during class. Always smiling, always friendly.

I've taken numerous workout classes, including Lagree, so I was already familiar with the machine and many of the movements. The class itself was not very engaging and felt quite simple. There was no music, very few demonstrations, and minimal holds or challenging movements. However, the biggest issue was my experience with the instructor, Lo. When I arrived, she kindly showed me to my machine and went over the basics of the spring load and how it functions, which I appreciated. I also agreed to hands-on support when offered. Unfortunately, her attitude throughout the class felt very condescending. When I needed to be corrected, she would shout my name and say things like, "You're doing it wrong," without providing clear instructions on how to correct the movement. She also rarely came over to help adjust my posture, despite doing so for many of the other clients in the room. At one point, I asked her a simple question about my foot positioning for an exercise, and she chuckled in response, which was quite degrading.

With classpass, I tried pretty much all of the cycling studios in the area and Rev was always my favorite because it's the most welcoming and inclusive environment! Eventually, my free classpass benefit was no more and I ended up spending my own money at Rev Cycle classes because I enjoy their classes that much! Nairi and Paniz are the GOATs! They are both amazing people and they always bring great energy to their classes. I love that they can teach all levels from beginners to advanced riders without excluding anyone. Their classes are structured in a way that I am encouraged to challenge myself at whatever my pace is that day. Front desk staff is also always amazing and so genuinely nice! The studio is always very clean and the bikes are well maintained. My favorite class is the 30/30 Cycle/Sculpt, I feel like the combo gives me a great without and makes me feel stronger in my day-to-day life; I even have little muscles now to prove it!

When I first started, I went by myself, didn't know anyone, and just took a chance. If you've wanted to try indoor cycling, HIGHLY recommend trying Rev. I promise, you won't regret it!
