Came in to try out a new work out studio this past weekend. I primarily do cardio and dumbbell training for strength, so barre is definitely a new experience! I was impressed by how helpful the instructor staff was in making hands-on adjustments. They went by the room to correct your posture very frequently. The instructors also help beginners (ie me!) set up and guide us along when we look lost. They also put in a lot of effort to knowing your name at the start of class so when they call out adjustments from the room, you know it's you! It feels like they have known you for so much longer than the class period! Definitely felt the burn and the shakes during the class. One thing to note is that they do not check vaccination status at this location, but masks are required. They also have wipes as well to sanitize your equipment. The studio space is fairly small, and it is carpeted. The class size is fairly large (I couldn't see the mirror most of the times). Lots of windows that air out the space and provides ample lighting. Free parking at any of the 90 min lots in Old Town.

I've been a long time member of Corepower so I've had my fair share of hot yoga, and it makes me appreciate the way that hot 8 operates - they have multiple types of classes - I tried Strength, Yin, Sculpt, and they're all fantastic. The membership feels so worth it because of the variety of classes and the multiple rooms/times available. I will definitely be returning. Shout out to the front desk staff - they helped me solve issues with my booking process (my fault) and were so kind/patient when exposing the different classes to me. Oh and shoutout to Allison Chiang - the Strength instructor. She brought the energy and spent time on form correction. So key! Finally - there's free parking with validation in the building! Makes it so easy to commit to the practice.

But…read moreupon attending my second class in April 2026 I had to take three minutes before class to fill out a parking validation form on my phone, asking for a ton of information as part of their new parking policy. The validation is for 58 minutes and doesn't even cover a whole class and time it takes to get back to your car (see the receipt attached below). This is an important detail because the building that hosts Pasadena Corepower (Residences at Westgate, owned by Greystar LLC) contracts with a predatory tow agency called Metro Towing. Warning: Metro Towing will absolutely tow your car if they have any chance. They did this to my friend, and CorePower staff lamented it had happened to numerous others, including the instructors. Go to the Metro Towing Yelp page and you can see how this company makes its money. The cost of getting your car back will be at least $530, and Metro Towing company is incredibly rude and dismissive when you call them. To be clear: the most troubling part of this whole towing situation is the complacent "oh well!" attitude taken by CorePower management. Their guests and instructors are getting their cars towed and they don't seem to even care! They put a small update on their formal website saying you now need to validate your parking- but honestly, who checks the website before taking a class? (By contrast, the facility where I play indoor soccer sent out SIX emails over two weeks with detailed maps showing where exactly to park in order not to get towed by neighboring businesses. That is how you get out in front of things and take care of your guests, even when the parking situation isn't yours to manage like it is here.) I have somewhat mixed feelings leaving a poor review, because this is really about management and not the instructors. But Pasadena Corepower Yoga and Greystone LLC (the building owner) have made the decision to stand by a predatory towing company, and therefore folks taking classes should be on notice. If you linger after your workout to shower or have a conversation with someone, you are putting yourself at great risk to lose your car and $530- even if you followed the validation rules parking your car. It makes no sense to me that a yoga studio of all places would nurture this kind of environment, but here we are.

I also like to run and the classes are the perfect strength training regimen to support my running. I've noticed some other yelp reviewers complain about the lack of friendliness in the studio and I can understand that. It's not Soul Cycle and you're not going to get a sermon with your workout. I do feel that the front desk staff is always warm. When I was able to go more consistently and pick my classes, the instructor knew my name. My schedule doesn't allow for me to take the same classes and see the same instructors anymore; I go when I can. The workout really can't be beat and the social aspect of the studio isn't that important to me so I don't mind letting that go. I would like to note that the co-owner, Alex, couldn't be nicer. He helped jump start my car after I left my lights on during class. Always smiling, always friendly.

I've been to Los Feliz when I lived in LA and moved to Pasadena when I moved out of LA. My sister and I collectively referred over 10 people to morph whom purchased beginners class, then beginners 10 pack, and some even 15 class packs. We wondered about referrals and no one got back to us. I don't even want a free class but maybe a pair of socks to show their appreciation for all the business we brought to them. We got nothing, not even a verbal appreciation. I've gotten my friends to mostly fill an entire class a few times too. To me, seems like morph doesn't care about their "morphletes" as much as they portray and they only care about the money. Parking: THE PARKING SUCKS. There's only a few spots and the rest is paid parking. I'm already paying $20 per class, I don't want to pay for parking. You have to go at least 15 minutes early to wait in the parking lot for the previous class to come in for lot parking. Classes: the classes are a breeze, they're so easy compared to other studios. I started going to a different studio while having morph credits still and I'd go to morph when I want an easy workout. The flow of the class is different than other lagree studios, exercises have different names too. Some instructors don't even have holds/pauses in the routine. The classes are just not challenging enough. WHY IS THERE NO APP TO BOOK CLASSES? I feel like at this point, an app is bare minimum. Their latest class is 6pm which is hard to make for a corporate employee to attend. The studio I currently attend has 7pm and 8pm classes. Community: As much as they portray a community, there is no sense of community at morph. I've only been going to this new studio for a year and I feel so welcomed and appreciated. At my other studio, I've gotten acknowledgment for my birthday, 50 classes, 100 classes, invitation to join a free class for content, and owners are much more personable. You can tell who is in it for the money and who is actually passionate about lagree. Also, morph trainers spray down the machine as soon as class is over, giving you NO time to stretch because they be waiting by your machine with a towel as soon as class is over. Just feels like they're trying to rush people out asap. Other studios use wipes, giving people time to chill out and stretch after a challenging workout. Overall, There are A LOT of better lagree studios out there, in all the ways. A lot of studios have holiday discounts/founders deals much better than what morph offers. Take it from me who was a huge morph fan who ended up finding a sense of belonging at another studio. Forgot to mention that I been weight lifting for 3 years and the only 2 times I got severely injured to the point of bed rest was at this studio.

I think whether it's worth it really depends on how you use it. If you're just using it like a normal gym, it's obviously way overpriced. But if you actually take advantage of the classes and amenities, it is worth it. The floor Pilates classes are free but the reformer classes are extra. The classes are really high quality with good instructors. For me especially because I hate packing stuff and they provide everything you need for all classes. Even for yoga, you don't have to bring anything. You just show up and they have mats, bolsters, blankets, and everything is clean and ready to go. For me personally, I use it as an escape because I can hit the steam room and take a shower sort of like a spa pass. They provide all the bath products too. I'm not a huge fan of the products themselves, they are drying kind of like hotel products,, but at least they're there, so I don't have to think about packing anything. Another thing is that it removed a lot of barriers because they provide towels, which are always clean and fluffy (and I don't have to wash). I can show up in workout clothes with a water bottle and everything else is provided. As with any gym, though, it's not worth it if you don't actually use it. It's also not a huge social scene, which might be a downside for some people but is an upside for me. I can go work out without worrying about having to talk to people or have awkward interactions around equipment. There aren't tons of people taking selfies or clogging up machines and walkways. It also doesn't get super crowded, which I think is partly because of the price point. Those are all huge pluses for me, but I'm on the more introverted side and just trying to work out, not update my social media or make new friends at the gym. I'm basically paying to remove barriers that usually prevent me from going to regular gyms, plus the classes are quality. I don't have to wait for equipment or deal with a bunch of little obstacles that make me less likely to go. They validate parking, which is another big plus. Between the parking, classes, towels, showers, and amenities, there are basically no barriers. The customer service is also really good, I've never had an unpleasant interaction on my way in or out at the front desk, so the whole experience is low stress. I used someone's referral code from here when I joined and got a gift shop credit/didn't have to pay the initiation fee. Everyone I know has been able to join without paying the invitation fee, so don't pay it, they will find a way to waive it because they want your business. I used someone else's link from reddit, but it got taken down. It got the fee waived and I got a credit, so I'm posting my link in case it helps someone else. https://equinox.com/referrals/003A000001TO5GKIA1 Bottom line is it's worth it if it actually gets you to go or you're already paying for classes somewhere else. If you're already paying for yoga classes somewhere else, that's probably close to $100 a month by itself, and you usually don't get all the extra amenities. For me, the biggest value is that it removes barriers and makes it easy and low stress so I don't avoid it. Having everything provided and not having to plan or prepare makes me much more likely to go consistently and yeah, I could save money and go somewhere else, but I wouldn't go, thus my Equinox membership.
