I love it here. I usually Lagree three times a week on top of weightlifting and I swear my body has never looked + felt stronger. Parking is included with validation which is very much appreciated when situated on Ventura Blvd. The instructors can be hit or miss but I have to give flowers to the really skilled instructors -- Fernanda, Tay, and Isabel come to mind. They really focus on slow counts, form and how to modify for those who are more advanced. Only thing is I wish there were more class times provided on the weekends but I'll take what I can get. read more

BEWARE!!! I had a reservation at Studio Plus and was told by the instructor Fernando that I could not participate in class unless I bought their $25 socks even though I was already wearing grip socks. Fernando said a manager would contact me but no one ever did. My money was taken and never refunded. The studio was extremely dirty, muggy, and claustrophobic. Fernando was rude and dismissive especially when I mentioned I was a beginner. I spoke to friends who tried the studio and had the same experience. There are so many other beautiful and welcoming Pilates studios in the area avoid this one. read more

I've been going to Pilates Plus for about two years now, and I can't see my day without a class. I have never been into working out, going to the gym, or any of the Barry's type of workouts. It always felt like a sure going there. Pilates plus is the only workout that I have been consistent with, but it is now part of my daily routine. In addition, the results are definitely visible; I've never had abs showing before until I started lagree, toned butt & legs but not in a bulky way, rather a sleek toned physique. We were going to go to Burbank studio but found out our class was full so we drove over to Encino as it said there was spots left in class. We walked in not only was it super dark we couldn't see anything but there was only 3 people in class the room is empty. We went to instructor and she told us to come back for the 12 noon class. It was so bizarre. She was just lazy and didn't want to help set us up and we were both new to the studio. Not new to pilates. So awful. Never going back. read more

Lilith is such a great instructor. I'm new to the class. She made sure to explain how to use the equipment throughly. Also, corrects my form often to make sure I am doing the work out right. Not a lot of instructors take their time with you but she does. The class went so smoothly. The workout overall was great. I just finished the class. This was the worst experience I've ever had in any kind of exercise class whatsoever. I had never done Pilates before and came in looking for a strenuous workout midday mid week. I took extra time on my lunch hour to be able to get there early and bought the socks, anticipating continued returns being how local it is to my work. The reformer machines were not standard from what I have seen online and I believe this is some branch off from a standard Pilates class. Regardless, I feel that I am in relatively good shape. I practice different forms of yoga and regularly get to the gym along with the hikes and outdoor activities with my kids and dog. The instructor couldn't seem to land on a single exercise for any length of time by the time I figured out what we were doing, she was switching to something else, she never demonstrated and hardly instructed other than using words while walking around in a dark room. The torture device on which worked out, was clearly not meant for legs to be placed inside and outside, though her routine brought us all over the place, and I ended up with bruises on my shins. At one point, she had us with one leg in the side of the machine and the other leg on the bench with resistance, my shin wasn't touching the front of the device because it had already been bruised and she corrected me to do so. I tried to have faith and hang in there, but it was no Bueno! By the time I left, I was merely frustrated, uncomfortable, and bruised. I did not feel like I had gotten a good workout, though a couple of days later I did feel a little bit of soreness in my quads, which means that I did actually perform a decent squat during her class. If that's all I get out of an hour long class along with all of the frustration I sure as heck and I'm not going to recommend it to anyone else. I have since attended classes at a different location with the proper Pilates reformer and I love them! They give me a good workout, I don't get hurt and I leave with a positive serene feeling. read more

I was only 10 minutes late to the class, thinking I could reschedule or at least check in at a front desk. But the second I opened the door, I was hit with the realization that the class was right there in front of me--no front desk, no buffer, just instant awkwardness. The instructor, Fernanda Giron, was unbelievably rude and abrasive. The moment I walked in, she shook her head and snapped, "You're late, get out." I was absolutely stunned and embarrassed. To make matters worse, my friend showed up five minutes late, and she let him in! But even he said her energy was off and that I dodged a bullet by not taking the class. My first impression of this instructor was beyond awful. If you see the name Fernanda Giron, run--don't walk--and save your money or class credits. I ADORE Pilates Plus. I've been coming here on and off for a few years now and this place is Pilates on Steroids. No matter how often I go, I always break a sweat and the trainers are very good about giving modifications for people who are more beginner or more advanced. Location: its on a busy part of Ventura and you have to park in a garage + get a ticket validated. It's not as convenient as their other locations and I always recommend coming extra early on your first day so that you can figure all that stuff out. Pricing: pretty on par with similar facilities but is a little more on the pricier side. The drop in pricing is kind of ridiculous so definitely try to get the bigger class packs if you can read more

In response to the comment by business owner below (unable to respond directly): We understood why we weren't allowed. But the experience was that we were turned away immediately, which is why I stated that in my review. In addition, we were met with hostility. We entered and there was no issue. We put our stuff down and no issue. We were already getting ready to participate, which we were then met with a "you need to leave." There was no assistance provided into who to contact or how to contact in order to get a refund or reschedule. We made use of our resources at that time and attempted to call your location, since we weren't provided an email and it wasn't listed on your site. When there was no answer we attempted to call other locations to seek help and again there was no answer. At that point a review was made on Yelp, so yes, it "didn't happen even 45 minutes ago," but we did make effort. So there's no need to question our attempts, as we did make effort immediately. And yes, things can happen within 45 minutes just as we were denied within 2 minutes. We also understand coaches are not managers, just as in different industries. There are employees who are dealing with customers face-to-face who aren't responsible for the policies, which is why we didn't make it a big deal. Especially because if they can't provide an email at that point, who would give us the time of day for anything else? read more

Today was my first time ever doing pilates lagree or any form of it and it was super challenging. I wanted something more disciplined and fun than my regular gym workouts and this was exactly it. There was music and low lighting, plenty of space, and the other people in the class were welcoming and friendly. My instructor was Keely and she was so helpful and didn't make me feel anxious at all about not knowing what i was doing. Can't wait to go back! read more

ZERO StarsAfter hearing so much about Pilates LA my daughter's friend took her to the Encino location for her first Pilates session. Unfortunately, the excitement died the moment Karen (facilitator) thought it was appropriate to body shame and disrespect my daughter with offensive and belittling comments. Being non confrontational, my daughter endured this kind of treatment throughout the session!!! She left f her first Pilates session feeling completely humiliated. In an attempt to hold Karen accountable, an email was sent to the management/owners about the experience. Unfortunately, the reply was nothing less than a justification of Karen's behavior. I was baffled to learn that any business owner would take such an approach! This place is an absolute Joke! So for all for all those people that need a Pilates class that's encouraging, invigorating and positive, THIS AINT IT! I have never took Pilates in my life. I thought it was a crock. I thought to myself how does a machine make you lean and stronger. BOY WAS I WRONG!! In my first class , the instructor (forgot her name) was patient with me and made sure I kept up and didn't make me feel bad for not knowing the moves. 2nd time was even more intense, but I'm in love with Pilates. Pilates Plus kicks your a$$! Ive been to quite a few Pilates Plus in the LA area and they are all consistently hard AF. Somehow the smallest movements hurt sooo much! They usually play upbeat music and the teachers really push you. They also help you with the machines and with adjustments. Trust me, it's killer when the instructor is pushing you to hold it for just one more second. Ahhhh! Hurt so good! If you've never tried reformer Pilates, you must!! It is a great workout. It is very different from Pilates Mat (which I don't like). There's good deals for new students so give it a try! read more

So I am the first person to leave harsh reviews when it comes to places and bad service but after reading some other reviews I am shocked because I have really loved my experience with Pilates plus at Encino. I primarily go to Karen and Elizabeth's classes because they push you and have your muscles shaking. They are also very bold personalities, fun, and encouraging but they will cut to the point with what they need you to do. I used to go to club Pilates and never felt my muscles grow the way they do with this class. It is not the type of class where you lay on the reformer majority of class. You will be up on you feet and working muscles you didn't even know you had. If you want an intense class this is worth a shot! For that being said these are great classes and you should try out different instructors that might work better for you! read more

Such a great place to get an intense, full body workout! I've been doing classes here for several months and am so glad I took a chance and gave it a shot. I'm not your usual Pilates fan, but I've grown to love it. As I get older, I am concerned with avoiding aches and pains and all that, considering I work at a desk almost all day. So I tried these classes after work a few times and boy was it a challenge. But I've gotten more accustomed to things and I feel like a million bucks the day after a class. But don't get me wrong, you will sweat, your muscles will shake, and you will be sore! Other than the workout itself, the instructors have been consistently helpful and more than welcoming, and the process of getting into a class is super simple. This was my first time to this location (second time taking Pilates Plus ever). While it was only 4 of us in the class, and me being new, the instructor could care less about form and correct movements of any of the students and would walk around the class barely demonstrating the movements themselves or correcting anyone on form. The girl next to me was helping me the entire class (so grateful for), telling me where to put my foot or arm, what to do, which is what the instructor should have been doing, seeing me struggle. If this was my first time taking this class, I would *not* go back here ever again. Thankfully, I had such a good experience in the woodland hills location with a hands on instructor who really cared about the students, that I'm going to continue with the classes, only not in this location. Difficult but awesome full body workouts! I came for my introductory week and attempted to try every instructor. Everyone was challenging, but I was especially sweaty after Taylor's, Mikhail's, and Megan's classes. Free 2 hour parking with validation is a big plus, but one thing they could work on is more energizing music to help push you through those tough moves. read more

Class Pass taught me.... The Price: First class is $15 for new members then $35 per class after. Location: Cute location located in a larger two story strip-mall with the most adorable carousel located on the first floor. The studio has tons of natural light and just consists of the megaformer machine and a small locker area. No room to chill out before the workout but you can walk around. Parking is free with validation but the parking attendants failed to collect our tickets as we left. It's easy enough to find, a good amount of space and located near a lot of charming stores. The Workout: I've been taking Pilates regularly for about 4 months but have been familiar with the technique for over a year and this by far was one of the toughest classes I've taken. The movements were simple enough but the flow was rapid leaving little time for your muscles to catch a break. We did work out a lot of the slow twitch muscles, muscles I am not used to working out so that was a challenge on its own. The class was good, but whoever or whatever Lagree Fitness is makes me think its Satan sent because I was pure struggles. It's a higher intensity workout for a shorter period of time, but you will feel every min. FYI: BRING YOUR OWN GRIP SOCKS! The socks here are ridiculously expensive! For two pairs of socks and a Kind Bar I paid $44. You could run down the street to Big 5 and get some for $5. Overall great workout, great intensity and the instructor was really helpful. Kinda pricey if you don't have class pass. read more

I am not the most graceful person + my first experience with Pilates reformer = human earthquake, but I am so glad my friend convinced me to try it out. The machines were intimidating at first, but Deanna and Loralie were really attentive and made sure I had the right form. The Pilates Plus instructors are really intentional about making sure the class participants feel challenged, but not overwhelmed, and my body feels stronger every time I go. Their online class scheduler is really easy to use and although they have a strict cancellation policy, it is totally understandable as there are a limited number of machines in the studio. I have always considered myself a strong athlete. I work out 5-6 days each week and mix it up with hiking, resistance training and boxing. I attended Mikael's class and it kicked my butt! I was dripping sweat within the first 5 minutes. It took me until half way through the first class to et the hang of the movements and the megaformer, but then it was as calming as it was challenging. Tips: Get there early to stretch.
