I REALLY don't remember Pilates being so damn hard but that's probably because all my past trainers let me get away with talking the entire time, aka: the perfect way to decrease the intensity of the workout... Well, Amber is totally different and in the best way possible! Sure she will ask me how I am and we will chat a little but she won't let me stop what I'm doing, nope... I guess she doesn't care that I'm going to make salmon for dinner? ;) I've only been working out with her for about 2 weeks at this point (twice a week), and I can ALREADY FEEL & SEE a difference... Not only am I starting to see a bit more definition, but my confidence is heightening! One side effect that has really thrown me off guard though: MY CRAZY INTENSE APPETITE!!! While typically I can eat enough for a family of five, thanks to intense hour-long sessions with Amber, I now can eat enough for a family of 12 and even a little more for the family's pet dog! That being said, it's very important to fuel your hungry muscles with high quality sustenance, especially after such intense workouts. People might think Pilates is for "sissies" and is just another form of boring-ass yoga, but if you take Pilates with Amber, you'll be singing another tune... Or yelling another tune, in your head, because you're too out of breath to talk! read more

Ok, so my wife has been going to Amber for her Pilates training for years, but just recently, she convinced me to give it a try. Needless to say, I was skeptical to say the least...I am a recently retired Air Force officer with over 20 years of service, 6'5" tall at 250lbs, and an avid weight lifter and runner, but Pilates, come on, really? But after seeing my wife's results and listening to her rave on and on about how great she feels, I finally caved in and decided to give it a try. Why haven't I done this sooner?!! Amber is amazing!!! As a complete novice, I needed a lot of specialized instruction, and her patience and gentle, caring demeanor were perfectly tailored to ensure my experience was second to none. Amber was able to explain and demonstrate each of the movements, as well as help my inflexible, gigantic body perform exercises/movements that I would have never thought possible. And as a result, I was able to achieve a phenomenal workout and target muscle groups I never had previously - believe me, I paid the price later...talk about muscle soreness and fatigue, but it was well worth it!! Amber has officially made this critic a fan of Pilates, and I can't imagine a better experience with anyone else!!! read more

I can't speak more highly of Amber and her Pilates Instruction. I was new to Pilates and came to Amber after a year of back pain from a herniated disk. After trying everything short of surgery, Amber's instruction, motivation, and program literally transformed my body. I no longer have back pain and feel stronger than I've ever felt. Whatever your specific fitness goals are she does an amazing job at correcting your form, pushing you to give 110%, and she does it all with a great attitude. I advise the Physical Package, because after 30 one-on-one sessions I promise you will feel and see the difference. Just like other reviews on here have said, if you show up consistently, give it your all, and take Amber's program seriously you will see a transformation in your strength, flexibility, and physique. You can tell that Amber really knows what's she's doing. I've never done any Pilates, just some yoga, prior to seeing Amber. I've always been relatively athletic but I was mainly used to running and stretching a little. The first session I had with Amber was actually a private session. She was very attentive and made sure that I was comfortable at all times while still challenging me just enough. Also, because I asked, she thoroughly explained to be how each move my did what to my muscles and that part of my body. When I left my body felt great and my muscles definitely felt happy. However, I'm not going to lie, I was very sore the next day. But we all know that means it's working! Aside from my great Pilates session, Amber has such a loving and delightful personality. I could tell that she really cares about me and my body. She's easy to talk to, as if I'd known her for years. I highly recommend doing a private session with her. read more

Amber Rabbani is my very first Pilates instructor and she will be my very last one as well! Amber is amazing and patient since I hate most of the core work but I know it is important, she listens to my whining and stays positive and encouraging! And she rewards me after with stretches, which I love and need desperately since I am a massage therapist. Last week I needed a chiropractor since my upper spine was hopelessly out of of alignment, After Amber skillfully with various stretches and excersizes re aligned my spine I was feeling amazing! My girlfriend and I went to Amber and had a amazing time.. The next day I felt muscles I didn't know I had.. definitely a full body workout and way better I could have ever expected. She was knowledgeable and kind while setting up each workout. Many of the movements were unconventional for me. First off I just want to say that I know every personal trainer under the sun and have never been interested. A girlfriend of mine raved and recommended I try Amber out on a Pilates session. I was very skeptical as I always thought private sessions were not something I could ever afford. I called Amber and she said to just give one session a try and we could move forward from there. This review is way overdue! I was in LA during the summer and wanted to get into shape. Through a gym i found Amber. I had always thought pilates was going to be like yoga some stretching some core, and because i was doing personal training at the time i thought it would be a good supplement. Little did i know Amber teaching pilates was better then any other workout you could ask for (including personal training). She listened to what you wanted to work on and made sure that she pushed you to your limit while not going to far. You felt every one of the workouts the next day, and even though sore as hell you would always look forward to the next lesson. When i told her what i wanted to work on she made sure i felt it and made me feel muscles i didn't even know were there. I had been "working out" for so long on my core and my ass and had never seen results, but after Amber my boyfriend would like to thank her for how perky and strong my butt is now. unfortunately because I am not from LA I had to stop the lessons. And knowing this she taught me some exercises i could do at home. Since then i have been on the hunt for a place that can give me close to the kind of workout she gave me, and sadly i have been unsuccessful. I would recommend Amber to anyone and everyone. No matter what your needs I'm positive she will be able to help get you to your goals. Amber is the only trainer I have worked out with that I actually look forward to seeing. Her dance background and attention to detail sets her apart from any other Pilates instructor. Heres the THING... I've been working out for years weight training, hiking, yoga , even circus classes. I've been doing pilates with Amber for 8 months now, i'm seeing all of these little muscles on my stomach, my arms are finally getting a shape that i didn't even know was possible for me. The difference Amber makes for me is she clear about how she instructs, she doesn't over instruct me, & she makes my workouts a lot of fun. I know its a good hard work out when I have sweat pouring down between my boobs . Her specialty is challenging me with the thinking part of her workouts & the innovation of it keeps me going back. It's a very custom to me work out not just the rules of PILATES...blah. I'm particular about my works outs & if i can do it on my own then why would i pay someone. When i hired amber she evaluated and tested me to see at where i was at physically then she created the perfect workout that always moves and changes as i get strong in those areas. She on-goingly knows what to work on me to get me to my very best, strong and solid. I pay Amber as part of my health team to keep me in shape so i don't need to think about anything at all except to just get to the appointment & get thru the work out.
