I've been going to Ashlee for a little over a year and HOLY WOW has it been amazing! My body has been recovering from a really bad accident and it took years of pestering by one of my best friends to *finally* come see Ashlee -- I was told she would fix me. Skeptical? Sure. I was feeling gnarly, my body hurt, I wasn't the dancer I used to be and I can say with all honesty, I did not think I would get back to feeling good about myself. My body was too broken, even after PT and Chiro visits--all the things. Before I even had my first session, Ashlee spent over an hour on the phone with me--we got to know each other, she got to know what I needed, what was working and what wasn't, and I jumped in. In the past year I've gone from hating how I looked in the mirror and how painful my injuries were, to being not only comfortable in my own skin but also feeling like I could trust my body again. The ankle and knee injuries that previously stopped me from participating in activities have slowly but steadily reduced--Ashlee helped me to trust my musculature to keep me safe. Lame squats and lunges are now perfect form. I activate my core on my roll ups, I lean into the glutes and quads, and I'm way more flexible these days. I cannot recommend Pilates With Ashlee enough. Private reformer sessions, spectacular and individualized training (seriously--you will notice the massive changes you can make within just a few sessions), and her personality keeps me coming back every week! I trained with Ashlee during the majority of my pregnancy and I am 99% sure our sessions are the reason why my labor and delivery went as quickly and smoothly as they possibly could have. Despite the usual symptoms of nausea and heart burn, I had zero swelling and physically felt excellent during my pregnancy and was able to train up until my delivery date with no discomfort! I am one week post partum and feel almost back to normal in my body and am looking forward to starting sessions again once my doctor gives me the ok! OMFG - I LOVE ASHLEE!!!!! My 2016 New Year's resolution was to try out pilates. I'm already a very athletic person who is on two soccer teams, does yoga on my own at home, ex- cross country & track runner... But I have such a hard time with group classes / cross training. I've heard so many amazing things about the benefits of pilates but I could NOT get my butt into a class, ever. I tore a ligament a few years ago and that's what got me into Yoga, but Pilates has been on my list of low-no impact workouts to start working into my life. So I found Ashlee on Yelp and started a pack of private lessons thinking I'd learn the ropes and eventually do a group class. Nope! Sticking with my private sessions 100%. I used to be athletic in my middle school and high school years, but now that I'm way past college and well into my career, it has been years since I've had any sort of regular exercise/workout routine. I recently decided to make a change and found PWA through Yelp. I called Ashlee and explained how I aim to be healthier, and how I've never done reformer Pilates or any sort of Pilates in my life! She was really patient with me on the phone and suggested a private class so she could help guide me through the techniques and forms. I went to my 1-on-1 session with her and she explained every move I was doing very thoroughly, corrected my form several times, gave me tips on what I was doing right and what I was doing wrong, and just talked me through everything with an upbeat, positive energy. She plays the best music and her engaging conversation helped distract me from the fact that I was actually working out, but I could tell how focused she was on me when she would frequently pause and adjust my form, or know when I needed to stretch before moving on. She paid more attention to what my body was saying than I was and even though she knew when I needed a breather, she also knew when she could push me a little further. Since my first class I booked a package of sessions with her and I'm hooked! Aside from her skills as a master Pilates instructor, she's also one of the realest, most genuine people and does not BS... this shows in not only her personality but is reflected in her training. I only recently started going to Ashlee but I can say that her essential oil bodywork massage has changed my life. I have experienced very painful upper back and neck pain and just through one session, I feel like a new person a lot of the pain has gone away.
