I usually don't give bad reviews, but I hate to say that this was one of the worst Matcha lattes that I've had. To put salt on the wound, their bamboo straws. We're bad, there were cracks in both of our straws, which led to the drink being spilled on our shirts. The Matcha latte was watered down and had a funky taste to it. My friend and I were looking for a cafe to study but also dog friendly as she was bringing up her dog from Olympia. We found this cute cafe nearby my place and decided to check it out. Luckily, her dog was left with my boyfriend so we didn't need to bring her but when we entered, we saw the cutest husky mix just lying on the floor! It's located on the side where IHOP is in the HT Oaktree Market on Aurora Ave N. There's a huge parking lot with ample parking everywhere. The cafe was big and had many tables and seats for customers to study at. There were outlets around the walls of the cafe which was very nice! The only downside was that their audio came from a tall speaker in the corner of the window side where the music blasted REALLY loudly. I had to up my music to tune it out as I was studying. I got one of their seasonal drinks, the Winter Spice Latte, which had chai and another things I couldn't remember. I'm usually not a huge chai fan but decided to try it out. The drink came either hot or cold, and I don't know why but I instinctively chose a cold latte when I knew I wanted the latte art from the hot drink. WELP. They served the cold drink in a tall, thin mason glass jar. The drink wasn't too bad! Not a favorite, though. Definitely could taste the chai, but it didn't phase me much. It wasn't too sweet either which I enjoyed! Cute and nice cafe to study at! They also served food which makes for great snacks while studying or doing work. They must need to work on their staffing because this morning they had one barista who was clearly very sick making the coffee and another who had no idea what he was doing at the register. Their coffee bar was pulling shots really slowly but I had no warning of that and ended up being 15 minutes late for a meeting. I asked for a refund since I didn't have time to wait anymore for my coffee and the guy at the register knowingly refunded someone else's card because he couldn't find my transaction (probably because he rang up so many orders after mine). I was recently in North Seattle to pick up something for work, and found myself in need of the usual: coffee and wi-fi. I checked on Yelp and found Pilgrim Coffeehouse right around the corner from where I was - yay! It was early on a weekday so there was a bit of a line, which gave me a few minutes to peruse Pilgrim's spacious, brightly lit interior and pick an optimal spot to sit. I ordered up my vanilla oat milk latte and a breakfast sandwich, and quickly sat down to enjoy my meal and get signed in on Zoom before a work meeting. There were a few other customers nearby (but socially distant), also working on their laptops. I appreciated that there was strong wi-fi and a good place to plug in my charger too! The coffee was excellent and the sandwich - while a little greasy - was a tasty start to my day. I'll definitely keep Pilgrim on my Seattle coffee + wi-fi radar. read more

The quality has declined precipitously and steadily since Justin left. What used to be a decent specialty coffee shop is now serving over-roasted under-dosed coffee, undercompensating their employees, and frequently makes mistakes on orders. I had the smoothest coffee of my life coming here! It wasn't the best coffee in the world by any means, but it was good. I could tell the person who made my drink was new and learning. They did a great job for someone who was new. There was a bit of a wait for order and getting my coffee, but I think the time I came at was when some of the staff was on a lunch break. Ok I am obsessed with Pilgrim Coffeehouse! My new favorite spot to grab a coffee, pastries, and work. The service here is incredible, all of the staff are super friendly and they bring your order out to your table. Also, I've never been to a coffee shop where they bus your table and fill up waters!
