Visiting from CA, this was brief walk down the street from where I was staying. The cold wind and grey skies made everything on the menu pop out as comforting and delicious and the staff was friendly and patient while I looked at their display of baked goods and finally decided on the ham biscuit. It's a decent amount of biscuit with large chunks of ham and there plenty of seating to relax and enjoy the morning that isn't hustle and bustling like in downtown. I walked further to the metro bus stop down the street and was tempted to check the local dispensary on the next block but ran out of time. Sometimes I come here while my car is across the street in the shop. I have always thought that their food items were HELLU overpriced. Their breakfast sandwich is literally $13 for a $5 sandwich. Today I had a simple drip coffee. This was $5.77 Then, you notice a jar for tips, and it has a sign that says, "You have already tipped, but jar is for more tips if you want to" So, yeah.... This means already damn expensive items having tipping built on top of the pricing, and the biggest issue is that you are tipping without your own choice, AND it is done before you have even received ANY service. Wait a minute.. there actually IS NO SERVICE. You order at counter. You operate the card reader yourself. The woman behind counter lifts a coffee pot, and pours it into your cup. That is literally all she does. Then you... go to the other counter to add your own cream. Nobody has come to my table to ask me if I want anything else, or how is everything, etc. Don't correct to clear your own table, because they have it set up for you to do that to. Had a very enjoyable time here last Saturday. We arrived around 1pm and there were a handful of people gathered at tables, but we had choice for seating. Which I will say right off were all quite uncomfortable options. I wish the yellow benches at least had pillows or something. But moving on. The atmosphere is very Greenwood. Down to earth, relaxed, welcoming. I really liked some of the decor choices, like the blue geometric shaped wallpaper. I am very surprised by the hours here as well. 7:30am-2:30pm is such a narrow window, IMO. But clearly they do well enough with these hours to stay open. The food we got exceeded expectations, but I was a bit surprised they didn't heat it or offer to before giving it to us. Like, my sister got this delicious jam biscuit thing with cheese and Ham on it. But it had clearly been sitting out a long time in the case, so it would've been better heated. Either way, it was really good. I got a spinach and feta hand pie that I gooned for. The coffee was really good. Like, really good. I got an iced lavender oat milk latte and it tasted EXACTLY how I expected it would and was hoping it would. Not very sweet with a true lavender floral flavor. Ugh, so amazing. This is a very nice coffee shop filled with lots of homemade pastries and even their own jam. The coffee is well prepared and they also offer some good coffee alternative drinks, such as matcha and seasonal specials like an iced Rooibos latte. I have tried a few of their offerings and I like their chocolate chip cookie and scones. I also had the veggie biscuit sandwich, which was good but was even better when I warmed it up in the toaster! The staff is very warm and friendly here. The only downside is that the hours are a bit early so make sure to come before 2:30pm! read more

I went here on a weekday midmorning, and I was surprised to see how busy it was. There were a lot of people who were working at the available tables and at the bar counter. This was my first time here--to be honest I almost missed it when going down the street because it kind of blends in, in my opinion. I parked in the residential neighborhood behind the café so parking is just like any other place in Seattle--not great. The cafe space was very clean and minimal. Staff was friendly taking my order. I had a latte and probably the best plain scone I've ever had in my life. The peach butter was so good and I realize that you can actually buy it to take home with you! I need to do that next time. I also appreciated all the cutlery was compostable, and that they used ceramic cups for in-house as to not waste to-go containers. I will say, the bolted down coffee tables and the yellow benches are less to be desired. Love this place! I try to go whenever I'm in the area. The service is friendly and the food and coffee drinks are stellar, and I love how the pastries are made in house and different from the standard fare a lot of other shops will sell. So far I've tried a couple of things: ricotta matcha cake, pecan coffee cake, biscuit sandwich ham and jam, biscuit sandwich veggie , fig bar, and many others. What stood out to me most was the coffee cake , although the biscuits can be pretty good if you get them warm (they don't heat them up, which I feel is a big miss). They prepare their own jams and there have a couple of other bakery items to go. Coffee drinks wise, I love their seasonal specials. One of the best lattes I've ever had was their current rose latte. I like to order the drinks half sweet since they're a bit too much for me, and it's a perfect balance. Definitely give this a try if you're in the area. read more

I have so many good things to say about Preserve and Gather!!!! First, the space is nice and open - I have been able to meet coworkers here, bring family to hang out, and haven't had an issue finding a spot to sit. The food and coffee are just amazing. I have tried quite a few different pastries and plates, each being amazing. My favorites have been the Ham & Jam biscuit (which is super unique!!) and the peanut butter and chocolate oat bar. Excellent strong, well made coffee . It's reasonably priced and a bright open space with lots of seating. They use fulcrum coffee and have a lot of freshly baked pastries which loom like they are made in house. Will come back for coffee and to try some of their cakes , scones and pastries. Be aware the interior is a little sparse, plants need some care . It's great to meet someone to catch up but doesn't look like a good place to work/ study. Can get loud as well. read more

Can't thank Marie B enough for offering to let me check out Preserve and Gather! For the ride to Coffeeholic and my appointment after thank you my friend!! Especially when she stayed in the car while I ordered from their window. Looking forward to when they allow dining inside again. What a wonderful space. The variety of baked goods made it difficult for me to decide what to try. The salad and other entrees sounded delicious. Picked up a couple of the ginger oear scones, a delicata squash hand pie and fig bar along with a jar of their chai pear butter. Wasn't on their jam /butter list but was an option to but on one of their sweet cream biscuits so I asked if I could buy a jar. And they said yes ! I have been meaning to try this place for a while now, even before COVID. I recently started trying to go on morning walks and decided to finally come here. It was such a cute spot and the staff was very nice and helpful. My boyfriend had the dog outside and he forgot his mask, but luckily they had extra masks and let us bring our pup in. We ordered the ham and Gruyère rolls, an oat milk latte, and an oat milk London fog. I haven't had a London fog in a while and this one came out perfect! The ham & Gruyère roll was also delicious. For anyone wondering they have oat milk, soy milk, and almond milk as their milk alternatives. I look forward to coming back here and hopefully dining in one day when we're back to normal. read more

Great snacks, but coffee wasn't great. I came by here to meet a friend, and I absolutely love how there's ample street parking! The inside was very cute, with proper tables as well as little stools, and it looked like the perfect place for remote work or a good book. The staff was super friendly and helped suggest some snacks based on what I was feeling that day. I decided to get the mocha and the strawberry shortbread jam bar. I'll start with the bar - absolutely incredible. It was just the right amount of sweet, and a little sticky without sticking to my teeth. Each bite was also pretty filling, and it ended up being the perfect midday option! The mocha, unfortunately, was really bitter and not chocolatey at all. Even after adding a couple of sweetener packets, it was just not great and I ended up throwing half of it away. Instead, walk up to the door converted into a window and order your pastries and coffee. We only had to wait a few minutes before our vanilla latte and decaf latte were ready. I can here for a light breakfast and I think that's what it's perfect for since it's mostly grab-and-go with premise bakery treats, but there are a few options for sandwich/salads. And I didn't get a drink but they had lots of options. My friends got the sandwich that was on Seawolf baguette, apple butter, and Brie - which they really enjoyed. I got the pickled egg salad sandwich which was nice and tasted like quality ingredients, but if you're not a fan of pickled/vinegar flavor it might be a bit strong for you because the eggs are pickled - not eggs and pickles! Stopped in on a hot day recently. Ordered a small drip on ice and a small cold brew. Both tasted like they were severely burnt during roasting and then left sitting for hours. Not even a heavy dose of cream could cut the bitterness or the odor. They seemed swamped so we didn't bother asking for a remake or refund. read more

I love this place! They are doing counter ordering for pandemic-approved service, take away foods on the go. All pastries I've gotten are delicious- biscuits are moist and lush, flavor pairings are creative. They make their own syrups for coffee dranks which I always think is special. My bruss salad was super good- tasty mixed greens, an enjoyable pickled egg (try it!), and a yummy creamy dressing which I think is vegan. The granola is on the sweet side, but guess who has a sweet tooth (me). I dropped my kombucha on my freshly cleaned kitchen floor when I got home but I couldn't even be mad bc my lunch was so tasty. I was visiting Seattle a couple of weeks ago and anytime I'm in Seattle, I try to find a neighborhood coffee shop to try coffee at. I went here twice during our weeklong stay and would've went more if I had the chance. Yummy coffee and I love that they make their own syrups. I tired a maple oatmilk latte and vanilla oatmilk latte. Both had just the right amount of sweetness (I don't like it super sweet) but the barista let me know that if it wasn't enough, she could add more. I also tried the zucchini bread and coffee cake. Both tasted homemade! Street parking only but luckily I was able to find some the two times I went. Will definitely come again next time I'm in Seattle! read more

I went with the panellet ($2.80 incl tax), which is made with sweet potato, almond flour, and black sesame seeds. The pastry was decent -- too much sesame seed I'd say, but had a nicely textured filling. The Americano ($3.91 incl tax) I had was solid too and did the job. This has become my go-to weekend spot for me and a gal pal after our morning workout. So glad she introduced me to P&G! It can get busy, but the line moves quickly, and we've never had trouble finding a table inside. Their baked goods look and smell enticing, and they do have some vegan offerings among them. I had the blueberry almond breakfast cake on my last visit and loved it. Moist with the perfect amount of crumble and just the right level of sweetness. It paired well with a cardamom latte. They had a white bean sandwich on their menu until recently which I was madly in love with. Their egg salad is also very good, but I do hope that white bean sammie makes a comeback... For all the raving I've heard about their scones, the cracked pepper manchego I tried was unexciting and overdone, and the manchego was practically undetectable. It was offered with housemade chive butter which sounded delicious, but it was served straight from the fridge and was so hard it was unusable. What a shame. I've been here a couple of times and am very impressed by this adorable cafe! The first time I had an almond milk latte, which was very good. The second time I had cold brew, which was just okay--a bit on the weak side, but it still hit the spot. I have not yet tried their hot coffee, but I look forward to doing so. Other reviewers are right, the pastries are to die for. I had a black pepper scone and I enjoyed it very much. The space is cute, airy, and modern, and staff are very friendly. I found myself at this busy neighborhood cafe two days in a row because the baked goods are that delicious. Between our visits, I got to try a savory ricotta mushroom hand pie, roasted veggie biscuit, and an onion gruyere bun, but the standout were the sweet cream scones that I took home to bake. This four pack of frozen, ready to bake scones were the highlight. Moist, buttery and flakey, they barely needed any jam. I am lucky it's not me but my family who lives near by, otherwise I'd be gaining quite a few pounds from their baked goods. Get here early, as they sell out of popular items quickly. I discovered this place while in Seattle for the afternoon. I was trying to find the best place to park since I know Seattle has a lot of street parking. I came at a good time I guess because there was available 2 hour street parking near the cafe which was great! This cafe is quaint - the atmosphere and wall paper is very nice. I got a Matcha latte and a sea salt dark chocolate chunk cookie. The only downside is that they do not have wi-fi which was a surprise to me because I know most cafes would have wi-fi and that was quite a disappointment.
