    Chai latte

A small quiet café that's a nice ambience and good to work from home at. They have good coffee. I would not recommend their chai latte. It taste watered down and somethings off about it.

    Chaider

The barista was working hard today! There was just one person and a stream of people. They were kind and efficient in addressing everyone's order as quickly as they could. The inside is nice for working or reading, though seems to be set up for larger groups with lots of 6+ person tables. The chaider (cider + chai) was good though and I enjoyed my time there.

a cup of coffee on a table

Unfortunately I did not read reviews before I ordered and drank my chai. When I opened up Yelp, I was shocked to see others agreed it was the "worst chai of my/their life", but m honestly - same. It was totally drinkable! But I would describe it as frothed milk with cinnamon and sugar on top. I couldn't have told you if there was chai tea, earl grey, or coffee in my drink, it really just tasted like milk with a shot of ambiguous tea. That being said - service was fast, and the folks behind the counter were very nice. They reported pastries and baked goods are made in-house and that the carrot cake is the most popular. There were very few empty seats on a weekend afternoon, but the ambiance was friendly and relatively quiet. I'd probably prefer noise canceling headphones if I tried teleworking there but it honestly seemed doable. I'm sure I'll go back again - but as you may guess, I will be trying a different beverage next time

    Poor sign choice

3 stars for decent coffee & (surprisingly today) friendly staff - but minus 2 for an extremely ableist menu. Like who the F can read this? Maybe paint a black background for help & keep the thing in focus? Add some shades??

    Alicia S.

Coffee is on the milder side, and there is no A/C, so it gets pretty hot and humid on hot summer days. I ordered a London Fog, but it lacked the flavor, as you always need to use two tea bags. Service was okay, indifferent. 2 pastries, one coffee, and one tea for 21 dollars, quite expensive for not a good quality. The place is not big, and the tables are too close to each other along the wall. I will not come back!

This sad ham sandwich was over $11
    Paige G.

Pros: good coffee, nice music, and a good space to get some work or reading done Cons: my sandwich I ordered was a complete rip off. For NEARLY $12 you too can have a plain ham and cheese sandwich with no chips/sides! It was also supposed to have tomato and Swiss, and be toasted, but those elements were mysteriously missing. Parking was also limited/non-existen. Finally, service was slow because there was only one staff member running the coffee bar and kitchen (which led to a line and frustrated patrons)

    Carrot Cake & Iced Lattes
    Athena N.

The vanilla & pumpkin iced lattes are fantastic--just the right balance of flavors, not too sweet or bitter. I love the cozy vibe here! The carrot cake is also a hit, tasty without being overly sweet. And the view from the window adds a perfect touch to the whole experience.

    Burn from tea!

My husband was given scolding hot tea without a cup sleeve. The cup was too hot to hold and he jolted when he was given the drink. Hot water splashed out onto my 1 year olds leg. It was so hot that 6 days later he still has a burn mark on his leg. I called the cafe to notify them what happened, and that I think they should provide cups with a sleeve or not serve scolding hot tea. They advised they double cup their drinks. This was not our experience. I asked to speak to a manager, noone has called me back to discuss. Average coffee, and be careful of how hot the tea is served.

    $7 breakfast sammy!

got the Notorious PIG sandwich and the Buttermilk Biscuit while I was here…read more Starting with the sandwich, there were a ton of things to love about this The very first thing I noticed was how all-time crispy the pork belly was. Interestingly, the meat came in two separate pieces, arranges somewhat like an X or a cross in the middle of the sandwich. This certainly wasn't the eating experience of a typical sandwich with a circular meat patty, and I appreciate the creativity here. The meat was insanely crunchy, oily, and quite plentiful. Each bite felt a bit like you were biting into a crunchy churro, but without the sweetness. I did think the outside of the pork did overpower the inside, though, as I didn't taste the meat or the fat inside much, and due to the amount of breading the pieces ended up being a bit chewy The bun was quite good as well - it was pretty soft, fluffy, and served as a really good bookend to all the ingredients inside. I thought the lettuce and onions also were good. I don't know if I'm a fan of the jelly on the sandwich - but again, I do like the creativity. What did shine here was the aioli, however. In a lot of places, you don't really taste the aioli on a burger - but that flavor was ever-present on this sandwich, and it was really fantastic. The absolute best part of the meal, by far, though, was the biscuit I have to start with how huge this is. This is certainly not the size of a typical Southern-style buttermilk biscuit - rather this biscuit makes no apologies in its effort to stand out from the crowd. Absolutely nobody would mistake this for a traditional biscuit - on the contrary, I think on first glance most people would assume this isn't a biscuit at all. It's shaped more like a massive pastry. I hesitate to say that looks are deceiving, because it does look great, but its taste manages to elevate past that. This was SO good. The edges are baked perfectly - they're oily, crispy, crunchy, and perfectly flaky. All four sides provide an amazing base - like the walls of a fortress that surround the soft, tender interior of the biscuit. You can see the different layers from the outside as well. When it comes to the inside, there was so much to get through but every bite was heavenly. So much credit here goes to the honey butter - which when spread onto the biscuit, raises the taste level of the entire thing. I put so much honey butter on mine that I nearly finished the whole thing. When it came to the jam, it was good, but since it didn't combine great with the honey butter I mostly ended up just using the latter This place was expensive - around 16 dollars for the sandwich and 8 for the biscuit - however, I was quite full at the end

Unfortunately, I didn't really feel any of the 'spices' that they claim to have marinated this in - there was a little bit of flavor but really just tasted like grilled chicken i could make at home. There was no spiciness to the patty at all. It was a bit too cooked too - i thought it could've been more juicy I thought the buns were average - they didn't seem to be toasted well if at all - and didn't really have a crunch like you'd associate with a well toasted bun The onions really came through in the burger - adding a really nice texture, and they combined with the pickles to replace some of the missing flavor from the patty The cheese was above average as well The good thing about the sauce was there was a lot of it. The bad thing is that it really didn't add anything except being slightly sweet and softening up the burger buns a bit. A better sauce would've improved the buns a lot Lastly, the Oreo Shake. I thought this was fantastic - there were clearly a ton of blended oreos in. It wasn't as thick as I would've liked - felt more like a liquid - but you could really feel the oreo flavor with every sip. The best part was the end - when there were just a bunch of half-blended oreos sitting at the bottom and you had to eat them with a spoon because the straw wouldn't suck them up as far as portion size - i was pretty full after eating, but that might be more due to the shake than the burger. Probably a little overpriced. In my opinion, the grilled chicken burgers should be cheaper than the beef ones

Oh, and a vodka lemonade - you can get cocktails delivered via DoorDash! Everything was super good, especially the chili cheese dog. They were really generous with the chili (a full cup of it) and it was delicious. The lemonade is made from scratch and I really enjoyed that, as well - not too sweet. When we did takeout, we each got a sandwich, and we also got a Chicago dog, "chum bucket" w/ tots, and a handful of cocktails. I'd had kind of a bad week and was basically like, I don't even care, let's just get whatever we want even if it's an insane amount of stuff, haha. They do single serving craft cocktails for takeout in little cans, which is pretty cool. And they were SO GOOD (all with very clever nautical-themed names). I think our favorite was the "No Ship Sherlock" seasonal Moscow mule. The Chicago dog was amazing - based on this and my previous chili cheese dog, I can say without hesitation that their hotdogs are 100% 10/10. The "chum bucket" tots were also really good, and again came with a very generous full cup of chili. I hate to say it because everything else was so good, but the sandwiches were pretty disappointing for the price, we both thought. I had a tuna sandwich and my bf had a veggie sandwich. They used fresh, quality ingredients, but both sandwiches were kind of bland, and a lot smaller than we were expecting for $14 apiece. That's the only reason I dropped a star, but aside from that, they are 5 star all the way. So, we would not revisit the sandwiches, but hotdogs and cocktails HELL YES YES YES!! Anything involving the chili is also highly recommended. And although I didn't really go into detail about it, chicken tenders were good, too (there were more in there than what the photo shows) - crispy and well-seasoned, and more than what I was expecting.

We tried the promo Oyako Sando(egg salad and Chicken Katsu together) sandwich. It's a honker of a sando, messy, hope you like mayo, katsu wasn't as crisp as I liked, bread does get a bit soggy at the end, napkins are your friend. We also tried the regular Pork Katsu Sando. Same here, wasn't as crisp as we thought it would be, pork was ok too, pretty classic sandwich. Made these into combos, which comes with a choice of fries and a drink. You get to choose your seasoning on the fries, we got one Nori and Spice style. Combo comes with a fountain drink, or pay a little extra for a bottled drink. FYI: They go heavy on the seasoning for your fries. You get a choice of dipping sauce, we chose their Katsu sauce and the spicy mayo. Another FYI: Spice fries with spicy mayo gets a little heavy in your mouth with the spice. Don't forget to clear your own table when you are done. Prices are about $20/person if you get a combo.
