The front ofc staff is not so pleasant. The office is busy and these ladies have attitude. They didn't greet anyone or have smiles. And hope you don't have any questions or you'll get more attitude. I called on Friday because I needed antibiotic meds and was cut off from explaining my health concerns put on hold for 15 minutes and then hung up on while holding, only to call back and find they went to lunch. I left a message to please have Dr or nurse practitioner call me back as I was in need of my DR. Is not an ER situation. And nobody ever called me back. So disappointed. So, i kept trying to make this office work because of the location, but every single time i'm sick or need to see the Dr. within a reasonable time frame, two weeks.. oh you have a rash? We'll see you in two weeks. Oh the emergency department said you need to follow up on a septic infection you have? We can fit you in, in two weeks. ER said you may have cancer? We can fit you in next month... I come to rely on going to urgent care and getting faster care than at this office! Unfortunately you cannot receive follow up care or more in depth testing at urgent care or the emergency department and this can be interpreted as medical neglect and should be filed against the medical board and insurance companies. It's asinine to be unable to procure adequate care from this physician in a timely manner. First off... I've gone twice now. It only got worse. Both my appointments were in the morning and I waited over an hour. How does that happen? Secondly, never received my referrals for specialists even after 6 weeks of waiting. Doctor only hears your symptoms and does lab results. It's a good place if you want to only get referrals but nothing else. He went over my results and basically said good luck. After today, I'm changing my primary care doctor. I honestly can't comprehend the good reviews that state Dr. Pillai is a kind doctor. Avoid him at all costs. I went in for an appointment after having a miscarriage about a week ago. Pillai was nothing but abrasive and rude. My partner came to the appointment with me and he was shocked at the doctor's behavior. I told Pillai 2-3 times that I just had a miscarriage and 2 minutes later he asked if I was pregnant. Does he know what a miscarriage means, what kind of question is that? He also showed 0 sympathy or kindness. Not even a "I'm sorry for your loss." I was updating him on my bloodwork results from the ER, where I found out about my miscarriage, after he asked me when the last time I had lab work done. He cut me off and said "I don't care about that." My appointment was maybe 10 minutes long. No compassion, just trying to rush me out. He just kept asking "is that it?" Without giving me any information or asking questions about my symptoms/side effects. I'll also add that I had to drive to the office from my house in North Hollywood just to schedule an appointment because all of my calls went unanswered and my voicemails were not getting me a call back. I drove 40 minutes just to get an appointment because the front office is useless. My last appointment before this one, I was asking for a referral to be tested for ADHD as my therapist and psychiatrist have noted many signs that I have it. He asked me one question, "how do you do in school?" I said I do well, I have a 3.7 GPA. His response was "how can you have ADHD if you do well in school?" Really? Is that the only criteria? How outdated and out of touch is this guy? Do I need to fail college because of my adhd? He also never even submitted my referrals, which warranted me driving to the office to get them submitted because they don't answer the god damn phone. read more

Saw Virgil Junio PA-C, he was very professional and attentive while at the bedside. All questions and concerns were answered. I found Dr. Pillai with the help of my insurance provider. Dr. Pillai  is one of a kind, I have always gone to the major healthcare systems and their doctors are typically the "let's have you wait forever and then have our actual visit last 5 minutes". When I had my first visit with Dr. Pillai it was different from what I was used to he actually takes the time to listen and sheds light to things I didn't even think about and totally should. Clean & quiet waiting lobby with some nice & relaxing piano jazz music in the background. Free CHLA (Children's hospital guest Wifi). There's a water dispenser, facial tissues and magazines for your convenience. Bathrooms are located out across the elevators. Exam rooms are tidy and equipped like typical. Dr Pillay and his staffs are horrible. Staffs are unbelievably rude and impolite! They rarely answer their phone and never return any messages left. After you have lab work done there is no follow up even if there are serious, life threatening health issues revealed in the tests! I've called them for 4 months after I received my lab results (that were sent to the doctor too) asking for referrals. they didn't answer the phone and if they rarely picked up the phone, they got my info and said they would call me back and they never did despite my beggings for my serious health concerns !!! After 4 months trying, they said they couldn't give me the referrals because I had seen dr Pillay 5 months ago so I had to see him again! And they said the first available appointment would be 4 months later! This is while my test results showed cysts that were most probably cancerous in my breasts, hypothyroidism (my thyroid gland is getting bigger and bigger and I have severe symptoms), and premature menopause!! Even with all these serious issues they didn't n't care! Even people's LIVES are not important to them!! It's unbelievable! I change my prime doctor and wrote this review to make others aware of what they will go through with this doctor! If you care about your health, never ever go to this so called doctor! read more

On the front door of the office it says the office opens up at 8:00AM, the internet says they open at 8:30AM. They did not show up until 9:00AM!!! Try reaching them on a Friday at 3:00 - 3:30PM and no one answers after numerous phone calls, even though posted office hours say they are open till 5:00PM. There is no alternate number to call if you need to speak to someone after hours either. Great service. Just saying!!! The front office receptionist is extremely rude, unprofessional and is bullying, talking in a degrading tone. She seems to have an attitude problem that must be precipitated by insecurity. If anyone has a diverse opinion than the receptionist, she raises her voice, talks down to them in a condescending child like way and ultimately the receptionist is the ''gate keeper'' and she can inhibit your ability to receive the professional medical care that you deserve. The Dr. is no better in maintaining a professional decorum from what I experienced. This office has no desire to be courteous and professional. They left me no other choice but to pursue other remedies to rectify the situation. The situation is truly unfortunate because I am an easygoing person who is not burdensome on people or organizations, nor do I expect allot to be satisfied, but I think everyone has a limit and everyone has some measure of self respect and dignity and the members of this office certainly violated those principals. These are my opinions based on my first hand knowledge and experience. Maybe another client will have a different experience. However, in my opinion and only in my opinion, this is a medical office to stay away from, especially when dealing with such a rude and unprofessional office receptionist and a Dr who does not take the time to listen to the issues. read more

Very nice and organized office. The front desk staff was amazing and so kind. They were so sweet, my baby was crying and they came over and played with him, and kept him busy while I filled out paperwork! Seen this doctor about 2 yrs ago for the first time since my insurance automatically assigned me to him ! He was very rushy didn't get treated based on my symptoms. it's been a while since I haven't got my physical so I decided to see him again since I didn't want to go through the dr change process so I call the office made an app which I had to wait for at almost 3 months then when my app came close someone calls me to reschedule me and delays it for 2 more weeks!! ‍‍ so I called a day before to confirm and they didn't find me on their app schedule!!!! Went in for sleep apnea. Dr P. noticed my BP was up. He set me up for blood tests for BP issue, but never called me back on results. It's been 3+ weeks. I ended up having to go to the lab to get results to take to my NEW doctor. Dr Pillai also set me up with a sleep apnea test which I completed immediately. Still haven't heard back on results of that test. I had to go into the office for possible strep throat, about a week and a half after the apnea test. At the appointment Dr P walked into the room, mentioned my BP was up and that he wanted to start me on meds. When asked, he claimed he hadn't gotten blood tests back yet he was still wanting to start me on meds without results first???? I asked if he had results from apnea test and he said he hadn't gotten them yet. He started to end the appointment when I told him I was there for possible strep. He had no clue. He hadn't even looked at the chart to see why I was there. He did a throat swab and as you've probably already guessed, its been a week and I'm still swallowing razor blades, living on throat drops and ibuprofen. Dr Pillai's office still has not contacted me about Strep test. This morning I found a new doctor. I made calls to get all these test results for him. I got them all in 5 minutes and learned as a matter of fact that all the results had been completed and indicated they had been sent to Pillai's office. The apnea results had in fact been sent to him 3 days before I was in for strep. So, Dr P clearly lied when he said they hadn't gotten them yet. He obviously didn't know they had them and found it easier just to lie. My new doctor did a throat swab and got me on meds that same afternoon. I'm already feeling much better. Why couldn't Dr P do the same thing an prevent me from a week of hell???! The girls in his office are nice enough but in the visits I'm had, they talk down to him and use harsh tones right to his face, in front of patients. Their comments seem to Indicate that they are frustrated at having to work around his incompetence. The whole office is a circus with absolutely NO follow through. In the past I've had to call and call for results too, I'm tired of it. UPDATE - A nurse from doctor Pillai's office just called to tell me she had the results for my test results. She indicated that "Dr Pillai wanted me to tell you that he looked at your tests and that everything is fine". Well that's significantly inaccurate. I already had all the test results because I got them myself. They are very self explanatory. The give you the normal ranges and then list your levels in green (for good) or red (for bad). I won't divulge my medical history here, but I had some reds and they were in areas that directly relate to high BP. If he's saying I need BP meds, how does he not at least address the red areas? As for my sleep apnea test, the results were that I have "Severe Sleep Apnea". That's hardly "fine". While talking to lady who called me, she apologized for the late response on my results, that Dr P was really behind and added that she's been on the phone calling people all day. Based on the test results and what she reported Dr P concluded he has clearly misdiagnosed me about very serious health issues, BP and sleep apnea, which both left untreated could cause serious hearth damage. As far as the throat infection, he completely ignored treating me, putting me through a week of hell. I'd still be swallowing razor blades had I not gone to a new doctor. My guess is that because Dr P was behind in his work he just randomly signed off charts as "fine", even though the patient needed treatment. I'll be reporting him to my insurance company and the medical board. read more
