SCV Quality Care has been by primary care provider for several years now. I have had only positive experiences in every aspect from this clinic. From the friendly and patient front and back office staff, to my knowledgeable and highly professional PA, Harold Wong, who I have gained immense trust in. Dr. Wong listens carefully to my concerns during visits, and has greatly improved the condition of my health since I first began going to SCV Quality are. His knowledge in primary care is remarkable, and I appreciate that he always considers my specific situations for my care. My lab results have all normalized under his care, and I credit Dr. Wong completely for that. Can't forget the staff. All the staff I have encountered at this facility are incredibly friendly, professional, and efficient. From the simplest phone call to request a prescription renewal, or a quick call to update my insurance, each and every member of the team at SCVQC has been a pleasure to deal with. I can only speak from my own experience, and I am grateful for the excellent care I have received from everyone at this clinic. Third strike for SCV quality care. Been coming here for years now. Was okay in the beginning, dr is good guy and staff was okay. But one day I came in for FML paper works to get fill out by dr. Had the worst office manager with bad attitude and rude come and tell me that they couldn't do it. But later I came on my appointment and the dr did it for me. Second time I had problem with them is when I came to my appointment and they said I did not have one. I had to make a new appointment and came back with the appointment card that they gave me for the appointment that they said I did not have. Now strike three, I came in for blood work on my day off today. A week before my appointment like my dr told me to do. They said they couldn't do it because it says on the paperwork to come in April. I told her my appointment was April 3 and this was a week before. Then I ask is the dr in today, she said he comes in at 9:00am (it's 8:45am). Okay I gave her the paper for the bloodwork to give to the dr when he came in. Because I'll be in the area for a couple of hours. I called at 10:20am to see if the dr got the massage. She said she emailed him ( email dr why there in the same office). Called again at12:00pm as I'm leaving the area. Again they said the email him and then I said I'll do it when I have my appointment on April 3. So I fasted for nothing. Then I got a call 1:55pm saying I can do the bloodwork today. Really!!! I'm not in the area anymore and it take them over 4 hours to get back to me when the doctor is a few feet away. WOW I think I'm going to look for new doctor. Very disappointed read more

I used to work here and the doctors were always amazing with their patients. Dr Lewis always treated everyone with respect and took his time to address every patients concerns. My son is now an adult and needed to get a TB test done for a school program so I referred him to this office, but his experience yesterday with the staff was very unpleasant. He came home telling me an older woman helping him was looking him up and down from head to toes giving him a really nasty attitude. He was asking some questions in regard to a TB form that needed to be filled out only to be belittled and made feel dumb about his questions and because he showed up with a previous test result that he got there back in February thinking he would be better prepared. The woman was extremely rude and told him they didn't need any of that paperwork because they keep all the records. I didn't think taking in your own records would be frowned upon. The nurse administering the TB test also had a bad attitude when she was letting him know when he would need to go back to get it checked. Educating a patient on a process that requires a check up shouldn't be so bothersome. I have seen many people get confused when trying to figure out when they had to be back by especially if it is not being worded correctly. Very disappointing to hear about my son's experience here especially because I recommended him here. We will be back to get the results of this TB test but we will not be going back for any further care. read more

After my first trip here, I was sent to the ER. A few days later I returned here to get a follow up and I saw Dr. Wong. He was great and spent a significant amount of time trying to trouble shoot my situation. He gave me options and alternatives based on my needs. I have been coming to SCV Quality Care for many years for my yearly physicals and have always been overall really happy with my care there. Usually, I will call around a month and a half in advance because this is a very very busy practice (with good reason) and it can be hard to get an appointment. They do take walk-ins which is a good thing but keep in mind that they have many patients already and you might be doing a little bit of waiting. If you have an appointment, the process is very easy. You just go in, and write your name in a little clipboard and sit down to wait. The friendly front desk staff will then call your name, verify your insurance/contact information and then let you know they will get you shortly. I think I generally wait around 20-30 minutes after arriving, wish there could be a way to increase the efficiency so that wait times would not be as long but I think it is truly challenging with the volume they get, and at the end of the day, it always feels worth it! They get your vitals and labs as soon as you come in so all you have to do is wait for the doctor. I see Dr. Lewis and he is fantastic! Always incredibly thorough and with a great demeanor with his patients. I always appreciate how he remembers little things about me and follows up on them, even if he has not seen me in a year (really helps patients feel cared for!) My family sees him too and they are always happy with how willingly he spends time listening to concerns and strategizing for the best course of action/recommendations based on patient preferences and priorities. The only downside is really how long in advance you have to make an appointment, but if you know in advance when you will be coming, it is easy to plan ahead of time, or if you have the time to wait for a walk-in, this is definitely the best place for primary care needs in SCV! read more

I've been coming here for years - like back back when Dr Nordella was here. It's one of the few urgent cares that bill as an dr office visit and I just pay my co-pay and go. They also don't make you keep a credit card on file. Dr Lewis is great as are Kathy and Harold. Love them. In a pinch I have been seeing telemedicine docs more - but after getting the runaround from the last one when I came back from a trip crazy sick, I saw Kathy the next day and she gave me the antibiotics I needed. Yes, you can't see Dr Lewis most of the time unless you have an appt and yes they are very very busy. There is a wait - but I've gone there when they said it's a 2 hour wait and I give them my number so I can leave and come back when they call me - and they've called me back half an hour later. I literally just walked out of this place. I am in the process of searching for a new primary care provider since my Dr. is closing his office in Santa Clarita. I made an appointment days ago for 12:30pm and showed up 15 minutes early as instructed. The front desk guy asked for my drivers license and for me to fill out a form. At 12:50pm, I went to the front and asked when I would be seen and he said "I still haven't even entered you in the system yet." I looked down and my form with my drivers license was just sitting on his desk. At 1 PM, I got up and asked again and saw my drivers license and form was still sitting there. He just looked at me like he did not give a care in the world... as if this was not uncommon for them. So I asked for my drivers license back and told him that I would not be staying, and he said "OK!!" Definitely not a good first impression. Obviously this clinic does not give a care about their patients' time. I will never go back, and I strongly urge others to avoid this business. read more

Yelpers beware!! I had an Appointment scheduled for 11am and I was just seen at 11:25am. I understand that sometimes things happen but nobody ever came to me to say anything, so i am just sitting there waiting not knowing how long before I'm seen. I work and I have kids who I need to pick up from school. Finally one of the nurses called me in and told me to go inside a room. I go inside the room and there was another nurse there sitting on the desk with earbuds on and staring at a computer monitor. Without looking at me he just tells me to have a seat. I sat down and he kept staring at the monitor and he says "I have a video call that is going to start in 5 minutes so i will have to take this call while you are here." When he said that I was a little confused and I thought to myself that maybe he was talking to someone else via earbuds or something. No he wasn't!! He was talking to me! As unbelivable it sounds he proceds and gets on his video call and at the time I see maybe 5 people on the monitor and he say ''I have a patient in here with me now, so can I keep my camera on?" At that point I had enough! I couldn't believe that this was happening to me! I got up and I told him that I was leaving because he was very unprofessional and he had no concerns about me as a patient or my privacy. I felt embarresed and violated when he was moving the camera around and potentially had people seeing me there. SCV Quality Care is very unprofessional and if you worry about your well being as a patient and your privacy you should not go to this place. As before with Kathy, Harold's kind and compassionate demeanor was so appreciated, and the time he took in understanding my needs went way beyond my expectations. As I said before, if anyone finds themselves feeling lost since the Doctor's Office closed, rest assured that there is another place you can feel confident that you'll receive the kind of care you were accustomed to. I've been looking for a primary care physician for quite a long time. Plus this is also an urgent care, so it covers two needs. The second I met Dr. Lewis I knew this was the place. He was a regular guy. Super personable and talked to me like he's known me for years. He treated my injury the way I wanted it done. I can't say enough about this place, let me start from the beginning, I started coming here a few years ago( I am terrified of needles and Dr's but I had an infection and needed it checked, the front office I think could see my fear and were so nice, the Dr was Dr Lewis and he explained what was going on and what type of shot I was getting, then he said his "Head Nurse" was magical and I wouldn't even feel anything, the Nurse in question name was Arlene, and folks I have had a lotta of shots and all of them hurt like hell but Arlene told me to stop being a wuss and I could go back to the front desk, I was kinda upset because I still needed the shot, she told me she had already given it to me!!!, I wanted to give her a huge hug, I felt nothing, from that time forward I have never gone anywhere else, the staff is friendly (even when I'm in a bad mood and not so friendly) Dr Lewis is awesome and Arlene laughs when she sees me because she told me not to be a wuss. The ABSOLUTE WORST PLACE TO GO FOR MEDICAL HELP!!! Went in on a Thursday for severe pain on my right side, thought it was gallbladder. I was sent for an ultrasound the same day results were ready at the end of the day. Called for results was told Cathy was gone for the day to call back tomorrow. When I called the next day at 8:30 I was told it was Cathys day off. I asked to speak to Dr. Lewis or anybody that was a doctor, I was told he would call me back. By 1:00 I called again had to go through the whole story again to an incompetent girl answering the phone. I told her I needed to talk to a doctor, she put me on hold and comes back and starts reading the result of my ultrasound. Then she asks if I want a CT or MRI scan??? (By the way I have I have a liver problem I'm told not Gallbladder!) I told her I don't know I'm not a doctor can I speak to a doctor please!!! She says yes, I will send a message. At about 4:45 I call again, and I get a man and he tells me the results were ready the day before???? What do I want a CT or MRI! So, then I call Saturday with NO HELP! Then I call Monday and they tell me Cathy won't be in till 1:00, I still in pain and I explained I was talking to rude ding-a-ling's and I wanted to talk to a doctor. Finally, after 1:35 on Monday I call again and leave another message for Cathy. She calls back an hour later and tell me it's not a big deal and I will need to see a specialist. THANKS FOR NOTHING! My family has been going there for 8 years and we are done! I'm still in pain and It's too bad because we really liked Dr. Lewis! read more

I've been coming here since they were at the Mcbean location at Henry Mayo. They're always super nice at checkin and get you squared away as quick as possible. They offer appointments, but I've always just walked in and have never waited more than 45 minutes to see a doctor. I come here 4 times a year and use them as my primary physician now. Cheaper co-pay and have never been "stuck" like I had been NUMEROUS times at Facey for over an hour, close to 2 hours WITH an appointment!! I always end up seeing Dr Patrick Lewis and he is FANTASTIC!! He will take the time to talk to you and make sure you understand and isn't just "herding" you through the office. He's got great bedside manner and doesn't act like a lot of doctors act with their "God Complex" and/or ego. Thanks as always and see you in 3 months! read more

They've really improved their front desk customer service. They've realized that although wait times can't be helped, keeping those who are waiting informed on a periodic basis so they won't feel forgotten and setting expectations properly go a long way. Do not go here. This establishment is absolutely overcharging people for simple immunizations! I I called around trying to find a location to give my son an immunization he needed to start seventh grade. I found this place and was relieved because the front desk told me I have no problem I could just walk in and get the shot done. I get there, was not greeted by the front desk though she clearly saw us come in. I assumed I needed to sign in so I signed in. My son and I sat there for 20 minutes before the front desk even looked at the clipboard to see our name. She then called us over and presented me with a load of paperwork to fill out. This obviously I could've done in the 20 minutes I was already sitting there. Next she called me in to get my insurance and ID. After about another 15 minutes she comes back and says oh I'm sorry we we don't take your insurance. I said OK that's fine he needs to get a shot for school so I need to pay you cash then. I have no choice. She said fine and went away to her manager. She came back a few minutes later and said the shot would run us $130 cash. OK. That's way too much for just a shot. But she says it covers the nurse to administer it as well...??!! Whatever, I felt I had no choice so I said go ahead let's do it. She leaves for minute but then comes right back after talking to a manager and says "oh but now I'm also gonna have to charge you another $60 because my doctor needs to see him first before he gets a shot." Really?! How many more people get to charge us for one shot? Reception fee? Paperwork fee? Sheesh!!! By the way, we've now been there for at least an hour. Next I tell her that that's absolutely ridiculous, he doesn't need to see a doctor before getting an immunization! She said that's their policy, and her attitude was basically Pay up or go away. I was furious. I said I'm not paying $190 for a T Dap shot this is BS! So then she tells me she's already charged my card $130! I'm like what? She says "oh, I'll reverse the charge right now." So I wait and she comes back with a slip says that yes, she refunded my card $130. Fine. But That was last week. This is now almost 5 days later and the money has still not come back to my card. So I called the office just now. Was put on hold for 15 minutes, only to be told that the charge was reversed and "we have no control over when it gets put back into your account. You'll just have to wait until it comes back to your account sorry." End of story I will never go to these people again they are rude, incompetent and clearly try to take advantage of people. Shame on them. Don't ever go here. If your kids need TDap shots just go to Walmart. They charge $55 if you have no insurance, but they also honor most insurances. (As I found out after the fact)! My husband saw Kathy Herrera a few months ago and it was absolutely appalling how she treated him. Due to a potentially cancerous mass he had removed a few years ago (which was a terrifying ordeal for our family) he now has to be on a certain medication for the rest of his life. Kathy had the absolute audacity to suggest that my husband was purposely keeping his numbers low to remain on said medication (even though we had sent over his medical records showing his history), she insulted the surgeon who removed the mass by saying it was an unnecessary surgery. Honestly the list goes on. It was absolutely disgusting how she made my husband feel, and then the office charges us for this ridiculous visit?! Needless to say, we found a great general practitioner at another office who was horrified at the treatment my husband received. read more

I have been seeing Dr Lewis for 10 years... ok, closer to 15 years... and have always found him (and his staff: Kathy Herrera NP, and Harold Wong PA) to be very knowledgeable, all having good bedside manners, who all have good listening skills, as well as a detailed yet common sense approach to medicine. They "treat the patient", not "the system"... i.e.; they don't recommend unnecessary tests like some other doctors in my past. As I've gotten older, my care has required more specialists. When I mention Dr. Lewis' name as my Primary Care Physician, it is not uncommon that they know him and concur with my favorable observations of him and his staff. Yes, like many Dr's offices, they can get busy (usually because they take walk-ins as well as appointments), but the wait is still less than most of my other doctors... and worth the wait. read more

While the actual medical care is great, the billing department has no idea what they're doing. My husband and I both had physicals on the same day. For some reason they submitted his physical incorrectly to our insurance company and now his is not being fully covered. Annual physicals are supposed to covered 100%. And why was mine covered but his isn't? We had the exact same tests and exam. We've tried to have them resubmit it correctly, but we keep getting the run around. They also screwed up our labs and we had to pay for tests that the insurance is claiming isn't part of a physical exam. I liked Dr. Lewis and the other medical personnel, but the incompetent and unhelpful billing department is giving me second thoughts about using them as our primary doctor. read more

I had a very positive experience, mainly because of Dr. Alex Turnspeed. He is the best Dr. in Santa Clarita Valley, and he actually seems to like helping people and will spend appropriate time, instead of treating his patience like a dollar sign. I know this as I became really sick, after 3 E.R. visits 10 Doctors later, nobody was able to figure out what was wrong or help me. He was familiar with my symptoms as seemed to puzzle other doctors, he gave correct treatment for me, as after months of being sick with some mystery illness, and after many different antibiotics that weren't working, he gave me something, and literally helped me to function again. I felt like he listened to me, cared and if he personally couldn't help me, was willing to find the right help. Dr. Dennis Lewis is a gentleman and a scholar! I'm so appreciative to find an internist like Dr. Lewis! He's very professional with a bed-side manner that is esteemed by his patients! I came to him with several health concerns. His diagnoses and care plans were right on target! He's cautious with prescribing medications, and will honestly share their side effects. I've had migraine headaches most of my life. Dr. Lewis was aware and informed of the newest medications. He kindly referred me to a neurologist who was able to find a new medication that resulted in zero migraines in the last month! Dr. Lewis started the process and I'm forever grateful! I also developed low blood pressure and my previous doctor prescribed medications with horrific side effects including acute anxiety and nightmares every night for 4 months! Dr. Lewis took me off these medications and worked with me to keep my blood pressure normal. He was able to help me make dietary changes and I can now sleep thru the night with only sweet dreams! When Dr. Lewis sees you, he talks to you, not at you! He listens to you with interest and works with you to help you solve your health problems. He goes beyond the call of duty! He returns your phone calls quickly! I profoundly recommend him to all who value their health and well being! read more
