    Tacos to go
    Brock P.

Order from here to go by the suggestion of someone else. Food was room temperature to cold. Ordered a variety of the tacos. Barbacoa, Pork Belly, and Fish. In addition ordered Flautas and Guacamole and Salsa. I didn't try the fish tacos so that gets a pass. Barbacoa was best for flavor;however the Pork Belly was cold, chewy, and after eating the taco I had a big sliver of fat cap left in my mouth this was not good. The Flautas were just ok also cold, and the roasted chili salsa was the best. I would rethink the pork belly, the texture of the rubbery cold fat cap was really a turnoff.

It was my first time eating at this place, and everything was just absolutely delicious. I had my eye and the burger, and it was exactly what I thought. It would be beyond amazing.. The fries, the drinks, the ambience, the artwork, the people, the environment. The only thing that I had a problem with was looking for parking.

Food was pretty good and affordable. Our service was very slow and the music over the speakers was a little off putting.

This was our 2nd visit to Pilsen Yards! We came back because of the great service, really good food and drinks. I'm giving them a slightly lower overall rating this time, because of the service. The vibe was good, so we tried the outside area this time. Maybe our waiter was off their game a little, and will be better next time. Definitely will return!

Stopped in here with colleagues for Happy Hour. They have great specials and on Thursday an awesome Burger combo special for $15. The chips and salsa and guac were great. I absolutely loved the vegetarian queso fundido! So delicious! Service was wonderful and the atmosphere was nice. I love their indoor (but outdoor vibe) dining area to get the best of both worlds.

Pilsen Yards is one of my favorite places. Every time I walk into the restaurant I'm always greeted with so much kindness from the staff. The heat of passion is one of my favorite drinks and it was amazing last night also. I'm sure I'll be back for cinco de mayo

This place is definitely a go too when in Pilsen Good food, great space and seating, and music is always hitting! I will say they are getting pricey but that's the case every where nowadays that gives you good vibes (unfortunately) Overall recommend this place though!

It's a large space, so great for a large group, unless you want to have a conversation. It was a little loud for that. At least in the back. Table had variety of tacos, guac, shishito peppers and several rounds of drinks. Loved the drinks. Didn't love the tortilla chips. A bit too rustic for my taste. Pastor was good. Fish was my favorite. Sweet Potatoes were undercooked. Salsa is very much a chipotle, smoky version; which I personally enjoy, but not everyone at my table agreed. This place is high volume, churn and burn, great for a young crowd. Cute back room for private events. It just lacked warmth in the back room where we were. It was bright and loud and the food wasn't anything I'll crave and run back for, but location and space for crowds is clutch.

Hidden gem with a patio and hard to beat happy hour specials. Sangria is hands down way to go, but if you're more adventurous, ask for Select Spritz thank me later

Pilsen Yards is one of our favorite places in Pilsen. Hospitality is top-notch, from the owners, The Abu-Taleb brothers, hosts and to the bartenders, especially Russell (Cesar). Amazing people and inviting atmosphere. Cocktails and food are on point. The queso fundido with shrimp and chorizo, served with handmade tortillas, is a standout. Smoky salsa and chips are addicting, pair perfectly with very refreshing Paloma and Pisco punch. Weekly specials and happy hour deals are a bonus. Don't miss the speakeasy bar 'The Alderman' for elevated, handcrafted cocktails .

    Chicken Flautas

This was my second time at Pilsen Yards, and honestly, I'm glad I gave it another try. The first visit didn't really do it for me, can't even remember exactly why, but this time was a totally different experience. I sat at the bar and ordered the chicken flautas. They came out looking fancy, Four crispy flautas stacked up with a ton of arugula, pickled onions, crema, and a splash of salsa. The chicken was juicy and seasoned well, and the flautas had that perfect crunch. One funny detail, the salsa on top tasted just like Valentina, which threw me at first, but it worked. Just a heads-up: the food here isn't your abuelita's cooking. So if you're expecting super traditional flavors, you might be surprised. But if you're into something different, it's definitely worth checking out. Service was solid too, the bartender was friendly, the ambiance phenomenal and the food came out pretty fast. Glad I gave it another shot.

One of my favorite places to hitup in Pilsen as I have been coming here for quite a few years now! Always a vibrant scene whether you're at the big bar inside or on the patio in the back. They even have a smooth cocktail lounge called The Alderman on the premises...I wrote a review for it a few months ago. I always get the shrimp tacos, Cochinita pibil (slow roasted pork shoulder) and al pastor tacos. Always does the trick! Margaritas are always good as well. Cadillac and mezcal margs as always my go tos. Staff is usually cool as hell! Great spot to hang as the summer approaches!

Creative take on Mexican food. Def try the mango braised nachos, and the pork belly taco. Great spot for large groups, they even have an enclosed patio.

Ask the Community - Pilsen Yards

    Are espresso martinis available?

When I went this summer, I think they were.

How's parking and do they have valet?

There's street parking which can be limited especially at night. I've never seen valet parking available here. May be smart to take a rideshare. Plenty of available Ubers and Lyfts in the area.

Is there parking and if not how hard is it to find parking?

We did street parking. It is challenging because there are alot of restaurants and bars over there.

What is the happy hour information?

Wednesday through Friday, 3:00-5:30 PM, half off of draft beer and cocktails. Saturday and Sunday 3:00-4:30 PM, same deal.

    Is the patio dog friendly?

Hi Nica! No dogs on the patio. Thank you for understanding!

That is to say: I am not throwing words of praise like "one of a kind" and "phenomenal" around lightly. Both are different and still amazing. Sparrow has a vibe straight out of the 1920s. The decor, signage, use of color, and absence of screens or TV's all contribute to the theme. The music is also appropriate and plays at the perfect volume to be pleasant without forcing one to raise their voice. I tried the Green Daisy and a House Old Fashioned. The Green Daisy was boozy and had some herbaceous notes. A little tartness and a little sweetness helped balance the drink out and make for a phenomenal sipper. I loved the creativity with this one! The House Old Fashioned was also well done, assembled with quality ingredients in balance with one another. Nothing wrong with a well-executed classic. The prices are more or less reasonable considering the location and overall market, with bevies costing around $16. The bar staff is excellent! Very friendly and welcoming!
