We have been out all day sightseeing and hungry for yummy curry! Pimlico Tandoori came up and we decided to give it a go! We were afraid we were not dressed up enough as we had been out all day but they welcomed us warmly! We started with a bottle of red wine because that's how Americans roll!! And then got the mixed sample appetizer. We both had the lamb tiki masala, rice and garlic naan. Yum!! We finished off our meal with the mango and pistachio ice cream. It was a perfect finish. The table next to us ordered an appetizer that looked really yummy and I commented on it and the waiter gave us a complementary dish to take home. I thought that was so thoughtful! While in London you must have Indian food. Pimlico Tandoori was a great choice and they did not disappoint. The Naan was fluffy and the garlic naan in particular was perfectly done (not too much garlic). We ordered Tikka Masala. This was sweeter that we've ever had and it was in a tomato base but soooo flavorful. The second of three dishes we ordered was chicken dupiaza. The chicken was so tender you could cut it with a fork. The last dish was lamb shahlik. This was like a lamb kebab. The lamb was a bit dry, but seasoned well and the green peppers/ onions were nice. The service was good, not great for a white table cloth restaurant but good. We spent 55 Pounds which included rice for two, a beer and a cider. The amount of food we received was barely enough for the three of us. Not your normal huge portions but enough to satisfy us. I asked for some recommendations and he just brush it off saying everything was good. Had an excellent experience here tonight. We were in the mood for some warm, comforting, Indian food and Pimlico Tandoori was right around the corner from our Holiday Inn. The decor is upscale - think white table cloths and leather chairs. When we arrived we were promptly seated at the table of our choice. We were seen to by two servers who were both friendly and attentive. Between four people we shared four main dishes, two sides of rice and two pieces of Garlic Naan. It was the perfect amount of food. I would say that the dishes were a little bit sweeter than what I've had back home in the US. They were all delicious though. The Chicken Tikka Masala had large chunks of juicy chicken breast with a bright and flavorful tomato sauce. The Vegetable Pasanda was rich and creamy with nice large prices of cauliflower, green beans and carrots, garnished on top with toasted almonds. And the last dish, the Sag Halim was also very creamy and flavorful with delicate spinach throughout. This dish was quite sweet tasting for a main course but nevertheless was thoroughly enjoyed. They also have some nice looking sides including Saag Paneer and coconut rice. I would return to Pimlico Tandoori not only for the food but also because of the excellent service. When our meal was finished our servers brought us warm towelettes to clean our hands and a generous helping of chocolates with our bill. On a trip to London, we wanted to make sure that we sampled all cuisines. Indian was at the top of the list and Pimlico was highly recommended. It was close to our hotel and we decided to try it out. This place is not to be missed. Food - all of the food was really good. We started off with the vegetable samosas. For our main dishes, we had the Lamb Rogan Josh and the Tandori Chicken. Everything was spot on as the flavors were very good. Atmosphere- This is a small, intimate restaurant. Only a handful of tables are in the establishment but the layout and ambience is really nice. Service - The service was very good. They were attentive but not in your face which is what I like. The staff was very friendly and accommodating. Just back from Pimlico Tandoori. The food was just about what you'd expect at a neighborhood Indian restaurant, and the vibe was comfortable and pleasant. The woman who greets you at the door (not sure if she was the owner or hostess) was very welcoming and friendly. We ordered a bunch of different dishes; chicken curry, Balti steamed rice, dry vegetable curry, Shami kebab. Everything was well prepared and tasty, though I have to say, not out of the ordinary. Also, the service was very clumsy. I think it was the kids first night or something. Good place for a competent Indian meal though, and I'd probably go back sometime soon. read more

It seems to me that every week there is a new Indian restaurant in Pimlico, honestly, they spur from the ground like flowers in the summer, but not all of this flowers are pretty or delicious, this one is! It has the classic tandoori specials, but the ingredients are so fresh that you lick your fingers. My favorite is the chicken tikka massala at £7.25, it might seem a bit expensive, but the portions are very well served. The only thing is they only deliver if you are close to the restaurant, other wise they have take away, and the restaurant is small but charming, I would recommend to actually go and have a meal there. Well below average Indian restaurant with many incarnations. I live around the corner from this place but would never go back after my last visit. I ordered a one dish takeaway that comes with rice. I got it home with the name of the dish written on the 2 boxes. I opened it up and it was a chickpea dish that I not only didn't order but different from the named item on the box!! Alarm bells as to how this could happen with only one chicken dish! Not only was it likely not cooked to order, it was likely taken from another pot in mistaken identity! I called them and went back for my original order. They were not apologetic and even accused me of possible foul play! What a cheek! Got home and ate there, well below, average fair. The waiter was rude and annoyed that we weren't ordering a lot of food even though we told him we just wanted drinks and appetizers. He tricked us into ordering more than we wanted and I ordered scotch from the menu and he said they didn't have it as though I was asking for something they would never carry. When I got the only scotch they did have, it was barely half a shot. My friend's chicken was undercooked, pink, and with a red blood spot. The food tasted decent but I can't recommend anyone come here. You could get sick. read more

Awwww presh! Tucked away deep in Pimlico, this fine little curry spot is a delicious delight and merrily served up some mighty fine curries at 11:30pm on a chilly Monday evening. YUM. Unlike the other reviews, PT wasn't packed. However this resulted in super fast service, piping hot dishes, and overall royal treatment. I enjoyed all of the dishes, but nothing particularly blew me away. Although with three fish dishes, two orders of rice, one order of naan and three glasses of wine coming out to £50 (including service), I would certainly put this in the great-value-for-money category. While I wouldn't hop on the next train to Pimlico to make a second visit, I'd happily pop by again if ever in the area. read more

This place says it's been here for over 20 years and I'm not surprised as it has the air of a very well run neighbourhood gem. The atmosphere is cosy and the restaurant isn't too large, service is fast and friendly. And while the service may not be the fastest, I'm happy I stopped in. I ventured to get the chicken Vindaloo, which the server politely warned me is extremely spicy. I said that was okay, and he happily obliged. He even brought out some extra tap water in preparation of the scalding my mouth was about to receive. In the end, I finished the entire finger-licking dish after going through about 2 pitchers of water. I would definitely recommend it to anyone who loves extra-spicy food. We just arrived in London and staying in the area and wanted some Indian food. We found this place on google without searching any reviews and it appeared to be very clean and welcoming. We ordered the tandoori chicken, chicken masala, Chana masala, vegetable korma and pilau rice. All of the dishes were excellent! Coming from Vancouver where there are many Indian restaurants and flavours, this was the best! We had a beautiful bottle of white wine as well. The sag aloo is so satisfying with just a hint of spice and loads of flavor. The vegetable korma is really good too, and I had to stop myself from just swallowing it like a pelican. The service is excellent and quick with friendly, polite staff. The atmosphere is so romantic. It's a great little neighborhood date night spot and I wish I could have had a leisurely dinner with a glass of wine and my sweetie by my side instead of waiting for take away, but that's what next times are for. I didn't fancy the samosas. It wasn't bad, but I'm used to something different. I ordered a mango lassi and I was confused to find I had been given slices of mango instead of a drink. I had asked where my lassi was and they said it was in a take away box, and I thought maybe they didn't have cups or something. A sweet little Indian restaurant tucked off a back street in Pimlico. Was full when I went on a Wednesday night, although that's no big claim as the upstairs space is about the size of a small living room. All the dishes were good, although my other half's mixed tandoori grill looked a little dry especially after about 10 seconds on the ridiculously hot skillet. All other dishes were flavorsome, even if there was a little too much 'brightness' going on with some of the colourings... Great staff who were attentive and always around when you needed them. All in all the place gave good value for money, but failed to wow this curry lover by a long way. Yum Yum Yum. I totally agree with the other reviews that this is top-notch curry at reasonable prices in central London. All three curries that we ordered were delicious, and none of them had that greasy overtone that many bad curries have. The only thing I'd dock them on is somewhat slow service, but I can't fault them too much for that because they were absolutely PACKED on a Tuesday night. I I just had an experience that could have been very disappointing but actually transformed into a wonderful experience. It all started with a small take away order I phoned in for an order of Sag Panner 'mild' and a side of rice. I'm staying in the area for a month and was excited to try the local Indian spot. My humble order was taken efficiently and I was told to pick it up in 15 mins. I'm still jet lagged so this is a late night order.. I pick up my order, very nice space and seems like a great place to eat in as well. I pay and leave, get home and start to gobble up my sag and to my surprise it is SO sweet it tastes like candy. It's so strange, now I am a huge cook myself and I know immediately that a significant amount of sugar was added to the lovely dish. I can barely eat it it's so sweet. I decide I should call to explain that I think that someone has switched the salt and the sugar, something seems really wrong with this dish. I speak with the man that I placed my order with and he explains to me that when someone orders that dish mild, he adds sugar. He says next time I should ask for it without sugar. I replied that I have never heard of this and I've never eaten there before so how can I know that he uses sugar. He asked me what I would like to do, and then he says I can make it again if I can come pick it up, they are about to close. I really want to like this place so of course I agree. When I returned he apologizes that it was so sweet, and he proceeds to replace that along with giving me a complimentary piece of nan, papadum, and some onion salad. I have to say that in all my experiences of dining at many restaurants from takeout to high cuisine, what matters most is the heart and the soul of the restaurant. Even though there were plenty of restaurants within walking distance of our apartment, we went twice to this tiny and charming neighborhood place in a short period of time. The Balti chicken was so good the first time that we ordered it the second time as well. We tried other dishes and they were all very good and reasonably priced. While staying in Vauxhall, we found Pimlico Tandoori on YELP. It was only a fifteen minute walk from our flat at St. George Wharf. The food was much tastier than any Indian food we've found in Los Angeles. The Korma, Tikka Masala and naan dishes were highlights. The server smiled when we ordered the Vindaloo after warning us it was very spicy... I'll admit is was a little too "hot" for me, but the others at our table loved it.
