Much fun here with our team outing, about one hundred adults spread across the space and settling into two hours of their unlimited package, which turned out to be a surprisingly good deal and an easy way to keep everyone entertained without overthinking anything. Pin‑Up Bowl is a small bowling alley with only eight lanes, a big bar, and plenty of seating, and once our leader confirmed the credit card the whole thing kicked into gear with free drinks flowing right away, draft beers and a few cans and bottles and rail liquors, so I grabbed a beer while others went straight for rum and cokes or vodka and cranberry and the like. The food never stopped coming, trays of toasted ravioli and chicken tenders and pizza arriving again and again, and even with ten minutes left in the unlimited window the kitchen was still sending things out, which made the whole setup feel generous rather than timed or stingy. As for the bowling, it worked well enough for a place that has probably been running nonstop for years. Even though I haven't bowled in twenty years I still managed a respectable 125, which felt like a small personal victory. The machinery had the occasional hiccup, nothing dramatic, just the usual quirks you expect in an older alley, like the lane next to us needing to edit their scores a couple of times or a ball getting stuck in the back or a pin landing in the gutter that someone had to kick down manually, all of it adding to the lived‑in charm rather than taking away from the night. It's a neat spot on Delmar, easygoing and unpretentious, and our whole group had a great time, the kind of outing that works because the place doesn't try too hard and instead just lets people relax, bowl a little, eat a lot, and enjoy themselves. Serious misconduct by an distrurbed woman who works there. I think the previous owners, friends of mine, will be concerned with what happened and the abuse she caused. The bowling is fun, music is good. The people who frequent it, nice. The pizza i got after they made something I hadn't ordered and corrected it, was pretty good, though the bacon was not cooked in the center, (luckily I noticed before i got sick from it)....So I had a decent opinion of the place. Many decades of coming to many places in the Loop have always been fun, with my kids, and my mom..A lot of the business owners are dear friends for years.. contemporaries. we've fought for a great cohesive community and nurtured it. This woman had gone from being nice and assuring me I was good, to a Jeckel & Hyde thing out of nowhere, contradicting what she'd just said. Threatened me, menaced me. There was no catalyst. Came here for a date night on a weekday and it was a low key evening. Not busy at all, just a few people at the bar when we walked in and we got a lane immediately. Another couple ended up in the lane next to us shortly after. The pricing is super affordable and I really liked that it's by game rather than hourly. It's easy to step away, grab a drink at the bar, and come right back to your lane. The inside is so charming, antique, retro, a little dainty. It's on the smaller side but that adds to the cozy atmosphere. Great spot for a date night or even a small group of friends looking for something fun and different. Old school pics up hints the name pin up and also a reference to bowling itself (duh). They are located in popular area near colleges. They close up for families at a certain time and become 21+ only. Pin up has a bar and I tried Brick River cider. (Which I have not found in the state I live) Cider was good. Bowling equipment you could tell had aged and needed some updates, but I think that was also part of the charm being an "old school" pin ups everywhere. We had the Best Time at our Team Building Event on Friday at PinUp Bowl!! If you are looking for a more intimate setting for any type of event this is the place. After finally getting the bartenders attention (a feat in itself)we ordered 2 grilled cheeses and an order of T-ravs, which I had to repeat 3X to the bartender in a span of about 5 minutes because they kept forgetting...what seemed like forever later the food comes out...one slice of American cheese on barely toasted bread, and was completely cold (see pic) with bland, cold chips on the side. T ravs were chewy and overcooked. How do you mess up grilled cheese and t-ravs?? I would have been embarrassed to serve food like that at my establishment. Food only review, not bowling: Decided to try this place for a late night pizza fix after a Ludo concert at the Pageant down the road. It is quite a funky place, with a small bowling alley, bar and small menu for food. It was slammed when we walked in and it took a while to get our order in, but the bar staff were trying to be as quick and efficient as possible and were making sure to serve people in order. We ordered a large pizza half veggie, half meat. It took 25 mins and we waited at the front on the bench seating. We ate at our hotel and the veggie half was yummy, but the meat half had a very strong smell and was extremely greasy. Within half an hour the meat eater was ill and spent most of the night on the toilet. The veggie eater was OK. I think some of the meat was a little past it's sell by date from the smell and consequences. Unfortunate end to a great night. read more

We came in on a Monday night, so basically had the place to ourselves! There were 2 other small groups and us. Cocktails were tasty and garnishes were fresh. It cost $9/pp to bowl one game, and then $5/pp to add on games after... this price included the shoes. As a true emo-kid, their emo tracks on the speakers were giving me life. The reason I'm giving it 4/5 is simply due to the bowling shoes -- they felt dirty and the laces were knotted and ratty. Feet are weird in general (no offense to those with a foot fetish!) but mix in gross, shared, and very used shoes, and it's a hard pass for me. I'd suggest bringing a separate pair of socks and just throw them out when you're done bowling. Other than that, we had a good time! read more

Super fun bowling in the Delmar Loop. It's smaller than the mega bowling places you might be used to but they have great drinks and good food! We went around 4:30 pm on a Wednesday so it was very chill! We bowled with some friends from work and had some snacks. NO I do not recommend this spot. Here's why; if your business hours state your closing time is 3am, I expect you to serve alcohol until 2:30am at least. This is the consensus of all other establishment that serve liquor with a 3am license. However, after waiting for someone to serve me, 1.5hrs prior to closing time (between 1:00am - 1:15am), I was told the bar is close. I communicated I've been waiting here while I watched you serve others. The gentleman replied, "I'm only one person" to which I replied, it's like 4 of you all walking around. His response after that was, "not everyone can serve." I responded to that by asking, so you're telling me I've been waiting here for 10 minutes (minimally), and since you all are choosing to close earlier than your business hours stated, I'm not able to be served? His response was "yes." To which, I communicated to those that I brought with me (I recommended this venue, but never again) that I'm leaving. This is ridiculous. You not making the money or bringing in the business you would like to had NO barring on me. I expect service based on your hours of service. It's unacceptable not to. My friends are servers at establishments that close earlier, and sometimes are not able to enjoy themselves after work, unless a business is open later. This is why I recommended this place. However, after being shuttled 20-25 minutes in their direction, only to receive bad service, NEVER again. GET IT TOGETHER!! I've attached the business hours. Great Hang in The Loop! Delmar Blvd has its share of good bar and restaurant, and if you're a concert goer like me, you want a place to hang before big shows at The Pageant and Delmar Hall. Look no further than down the street. Pin-Up Bowl is your place. I've been going to Pin-Up for as long as they've been open, but lately it's been more frequent because of my concert schedule. Depending on the act, I might go into Halo Bar early, but if I'm in no rush, Pin-Up is great for a few pints and a snack. And let's not forget the bowling. You can bowl until two in the morning every night of the week! It's a great idea for a late night hangs or even scheduling an event. Their beer selection is pretty solid. I usually don't have any trouble finding something new to drink, and they even have a weekday hour happy from 4-7 that features $3 Schlafly beers. The service usually very good, too. Olivia was bartender last time, and she was pretty awesome! Awesome bowling alley close to or in the Loop. Not a huge place as far as lanes go, but they have about 8 lanes there. Everything is electronic which is nice. You basically only have to enter names and/or teams and then go from there. Each lane has its own computer and then a screen right above the lane. Sometimes with these newer lanes there are some issues with the pins resetting etc, not here which was nice. Plenty of bowls and plenty of different weights well. The bar, which also serves food, is to the left when you walk in. Lots of tabletop areas in the bar area and then tables and chairs right by the lanes. You pay for shoes as well and then per game. I don't remember the prices but our group played about 2 or 3 games and it wasn't bad. Staff were cool and we were lucky enough to almost have the place to ourselves. Regardless of my (lack of) bowling skills, a group of us had a really fun time last night at Pin-Up. They take reservations if you call a day ahead, but we just walked in last night and they set us right up with a lane. In about two minutes flat, shoes were rented, drinks were bought, and we were showing off our skills. I went for a pretty boring drink choice compared to their menu of Signature Cocktails, and next time I'm there I really want to try the Dutch Harvest or the red sangria. What I really love about Pin-Up is even if you're not bowling, it's great as a lounge where you can just sit around with friends over drinks. They also have a nice variety of appetizers and sandwiches. Bottom line, good drinks + a jukebox + friends + bowling + good service = a pretty ideal Saturday night. read more

A small group of us went on a Friday night and surprisingly didn't have to wait for a lane! I loved the atmosphere, and the bartenders were super nice! We played 2 rounds and all of us got martinis. I really don't like this place because I always get creeped on by some creepy guy with a rape-y vibe, and the staff overcharged my bf for our lane (should have been $25-ish for 5 people, she charged $41! but he was too drunk to argue, and whenever he does have an issue with an employee here, he gets immediately kicked out). Never mind that the employee working the lanes turned off ours and had to recover it in the middle of the fifth frame. Maybe they upcharged us for their own ineptitude? But I have to keep coming here whenever I'm in town because my bf loves running into people from ages ago. Apparently this is the place for that to happen, at least among his group of friends. Hmm... Overpriced drinks? Check. Cramped space? Check. Too few lanes, forcing a constant wait to bowl? Check. Oppressivly smoky atmosphere? Check. Charging twice as much as you'd expect for bowling? Check. Hipper-than-thou clientele? Check. Mediocre to crummy food selection? Check. Decor that tries way too hard to look cool? Check. Ok, by now you should realize this isn't a bowling alley with a bar. This is a bar that happens to have a couple of lanes for bowling. A bar that tries oh-so-hard to be upscale. The look of the Pin-Up is alright, but it has that feel of going way out of it's way to try to be unique, when in fact it's copying its style from the many "boutique bowling alleys" that have popped up in the last 5-10 years. It has the look and feel of a chain, and not in a good way. Not to belabor the point, but this place is small and crackerjack-like. Seems like I'm always bumping into someone or waiting for someone to move in order to get somewhere. I suppose this is to be expected at an expensive bar, but not at a bowling alley. Which I guess brings me to my other point. Don't go here to bowl. It's just not a place built for bowling. The lanes are too cramped together, and at this point there are regular bowling alleys that have the features that the Pin-Up does (flat screen tvs over the pins, crazy weird automatic scoring machines). Not to mention you can walk in and start playing at other alleys instead of having to wait and drown in a cloud of cigarette smoke and overpriced drinks. I don't think this place really works as a bar or a bowling alley. Because it's small, it's hard to get away to have a conversation with someone. The atmosphere seems manufacturered, like it's trying to put forth a cooler persona that it should. This place might be popular for the right crowd, but if I'm going bowling I'm going to a real bowling alley, and if I'm going to a bar, I'm going to a larger and less crowded one (and one that doesn't periodically charge a cover...wtf is up with that). read more

This place absolutely sucks the life out of me every time I have to hop down there. It's basically a hipster suicide lounge, and quite honestly a crappy place to bowl. I always cringe at the musical selection being pumped out of the internet jukebox, although that does allow me to put a cringe into the hearts of the patrons by playing Megadeth or something. The drinks are overpriced and the smoke seems to hang directly at eye level at the bar for some reason. Pin-Up Bowl is a really fun spot right on the Delmar Loop. It's a 50s/pinup girl themed bar and bowling alley! What more could you ask for? They have around 8 lanes and they are all pretty snug. If you're a bowling purest you probably shouldn't come here. But if you're looking to bowl while hang out and have some good drinks than this is your place. The lanes aren't "greased" at all. At least when I went. It pretty much forces you to bowl straight. I'm not a big bowler so I didn't really care. However it was annoying to some of the more competitive bowling members. 1 game+shoes for 4 people was only $30. Sweet deal($4 shoes+3$ a game)! This place is small (8 total lanes, and we're assuming that all are in working order which was not the case while we were there). If it's a wkd night, you prob have to call in a reservation a couple days prior in order to get the time slot you want. Our reservations were at 9PM but since there was a prob with one of the lanes, it was pushed back to 10PM. This place is really smoky - within 20 min, my voice was shot. Despite having 4 bartenders for a fairly small bar, service was slow - drinks are reasonably priced but even when the bar wasn't overflowing with ppl, service was still slow. I'm not a fan bc this place is def overpriced. It could be a cool atmosphere, but I'm thinking Flamingo Bowl on Washington might be a better option. read more

I've been planning my sister birthday for over a month now. When I talked to you. You quoted me $200 for 4 lanes for 2 hours from 8-10. When I arrived on Saturday the girl working the counter told me $40 per hour per lane from 8-9 and $50 after 9. I questioned her and told her what you quoted me.....she looked at me like I was a pure idiot. Never apologized, discounted the price, or did anything at all to make it right for us. The staff was more than RUDE to multiple people in my party. We had over 50 people there and brought a lot of business and money to your establishment. The food at best was below average and way over priced not to mention cold when it came out. There was a $20 tip included for the food.....for WHAT not sure. The waitress NEVER checked on my party again nor cleaned our tables the entire time we were there. When I paid for our bowling. The girl told me "$180 does that sound right?" I mean isn't this her job? No its not right! I had to knock the bowling down to 2 lanes from 8-9 and 1 lane 9-10. The total was $130. This was a special day for my sister and our family. Pin-Up Bowl was definitely an experience when I went with my brother, his friend, my sister, and my boyfriend. There were 5 of us and we were all eager and ready to start a few games of bowling. I started off with a Bloody Mary and a not so nice bartender. I was a little taken a-back by the attitude the bartender had with me. I was not impressed... The bowling alley itself was a little small and cramped, but the atmosphere is always fun. A little retro, a little rock'n'roll, and a little bit of STL flair...or should I say Midwestern flair. The beginning of our first round I felt claustrophobic, but I started to warm up to the tight quarters after the 3rd round and my second drink. We ended up bowling 3 games, and it turned out to be a fun time...However, it wasn't so fun after we saw how much our shoes and 3 games were for 5 people. WOW! I felt a little cheated...Maybe Olivette lanes wasn't looking so bad afterall. Pin-Up Bowl, I would have to say is definitely an "atmosphere" bowling alley...but sometimes you just want to bowl a few games, drink a few beers and not feel like you spent your weekly allowance. A great throwback and fun location in the Loop. Part of the Edwards empire. I came here for an office holiday party. It is a neat and cozy little location with ample parking behind the building but also some parking right in front. The bowling alley is overall very small. Only about 8 lanes total and is starting to show its age. The lanes are cracked and peeling but were fine for our recreational play that day. The electronics and controls for bowling were old and outdated. When we first started it seemed like the system needed to warm up and was actually rebooted once so I would recommend start signing up your names early. It does take a while. Even the turn over after bowling each ball was sluggish. Thank god for the bar. It is full service including some bites but after a few drinks you don't care if the bowling lanes function slow. Overall I enjoy the pin-up bowl for what it is. Vintage laid back bowling alley and a great place to hang out with friends. read more

As a bar, Pin-Up is not my cup of tea. As a bowling alley with a bar, it works just fine. It is something of a niche, as you might expect of a Loop bar with bowling. Of course, it's not really a bowling alley at all. There aren't many lanes, the wait can be long, and games aren't cheap. But you also don't have to watch a fat guy with a combover chain smoking and spraying shoes with disinfectant. You can go at the right time and have an absolute blast. Late Saturday afternoon is a good option. Have a few drinks, roll a few games, and go out for dinner afterwards. That's a pretty good start to a Saturday night. But I would not consider this a "Bowling Alley." It is more like a novelty. Sort-of like St. Louis style pizza..... :P The lanes are candied-up to say the least. It is very drunk-friendly, meaning the lanes are not slick in the least bit. The games are expensive, even if you are a regular. The drinks are stiff, and really the only thing this place has going for itself. I, for one(the current duke btw) will not be going back nearly as much as I was. Came here on a Sunday night after my Seahawks lost... I didn't expect much as an out of towner but this place rocks! Like Aaron B. mentioned, the bowling purists might complain about the ungreased lanes. I'm a straight bowler so it didn't matter to me. Pros: Music! There was a DJ spinning GOOD hip hop, rock ballads, and top 40. He kept the mood just right. Staff: I love the city of St. Louis because of the people. The two female bartenders, who were also the cashiers for bowling, were very nice and accomodating. I never had to wait longer than a minute to get my beers. Price: Very affordable. I played two games, rented shoes, and I had four beers and still spent under $30! Impossible in LA or Long Beach. Decor: Done very nice. There were 50's pinup pics all over. Lighting was right, not too dark or too bright. Cons: Street parking - We didn't look to see if there was a structure because we found a spot in the front Lanes/Ball: The lanes were ungreased and there were some random divots so your ball could end up spinning the other way. The balls also had huge chips. If you and your friends are looking to just chill, enjoy music, and maybe bowl, I highly recommend this place. If you are competing and want to outscore each other, you'll probably have to find another place. read more

Pin-Up Bowl is a fusion of a throwback 50s hangout and a modern bowling alley. With a name like Pin-Up Bowl you would expect an "Ed Debevic's"-esque experience, however it is not overly kitschy or touristy, which I appreciated. Although the mixed drinks aren't the cheapest, the bartenders were friendly and helpful. Also, the Touch Tunes jukebox provided my friends and I with some cool jams while enjoying our draughts. Bowling at Pin-Up appeared to be moderately expensive, however my friends and I didn't get a chance to bowl, due to all of the lanes being full. There were about 8 lanes total for bowling, so I would suggest coming a little bit earlier to ensure you get a lane. The clientele is mostly a hipster environment, so make sure you're wearing your black frames and Wavvves tshirt when you visit haha. All in all, I would definitely visit Pin-Up Bowl again, however next time I would come a little bit earlier (rather than midnight) so that I get a chance to bowl! read more

This place has cute decor, but it's a sad bowling alley. Because of the bar inside, they demand to check your ID just to enter the place, even if your only intention is to go bowling sober. While checking out shoes, they asked for IDs again! Now, that was a little too much and a bit offensive. If you're going bowling, remember to bring your own socks! Bowling was a last minute plan, and I came in sandals, needing to buy socks there. Not only were they not my size, but they were also expensive and ugly. Do yourself a favor and remember to bring your own :) While bowling, we had issues with the lanes, which didn't seem to be maintained at all. Our bowling ball was obviously rolling toward one side with every single roll. We even noticed it with other people playing. If you're looking forward to bowling, try to find another place. read more
