We've been here three times. This is where we get liquid solar cover for our pool. The people working the back counter are generally more welcoming and knowledgeable. The young girl that works at the check-out counter is evidentially happy to do no more than that. BEWARE of this location of Pinch A Penny. We hired them to service our pool. They did not perform services they were hired to do. In fact, couldn't tell me the last time the salt cell was cleaned. My husband cancelled service the last week of May 2026. Since they bill in advance, we should not have been charged for June 2026. Which we were. I have called to speak with the owner/manager 3 times. He is never there and will not return my calls...or issue my credit. read more

The staff in this store are condescending and critical. They treat you like you're a stupid homeowner with a pool. I have extensive experience from having a pool my entire life. Periodically I use their free water testing service even though I test at home. They give me weird looks when they see the length of time between my documented tests and make a point of stating how long it's been. Ironically my water is usually spot-on. Just recently I had an issue with particulate in my water. I called another store on Cape Coral Parkway for advice. But I purchased the chemical at the location in this review and followed up with some questions on getting the flocculate out of my pool. I received no assistance other than being told I shouldn't be doing things I don't know about. Pretty ignorant, so I called the store on Cape Coral Parkway in Camelot Isles. SO HELPFUL!!! They spent time on the phone and walked me through some steps. So on this note I DO NOT RECOMMEND THE STORE ON PINE ISLAND RD and do suggest the one on Cape Coral Parkway. Took them on with my new construction pool, at first everything was fine, after time we noticed issues and called in a few times, dealt with owner Matt, very rude, arrogant and made it clear he was not happy dealing with his customers. He stated these customers are the reason of his problems! Really! That should have been my first clue. The end was when i had a issue with my salt machine that showed a error, i called in and told them of the issue i told them the salt machine wasn't working and it might be a warranty issue, i was told its fine add salt and the tech would come on regular service next week, i expressed the urgency 2 weeks later after the tech showed and simply said he had was unable to clear the error and i called Matt.. he got into a verbal confrontation over the phone saying i might be the issue of the condition of the pool, and being i only work 6 days a week and he worked 7 that i should have enough time to take care of my own pool, he then came over to see perhaps how I screwed the system up that he saw what i was saying all along, WARRANTY amazing he got it swapped in a day. Telling me how he knew against his better judgment to take our home and my mothers home on the route. This is a business owner who hates doing business with his customers, if you decide to spend money in this store your supporting a business owner who doesn't appreciate the word customer service and RESPECT FOR THE CUSTOMER. Warning to all. You have been warned I have been in customer service business for over 30 years, if i ran my business like Matt R. I would be out of business a long time ago. Rudest man behind the counter! My husband went into ask a question about our vacuum hose. Instead of taking the time to educate and gain a lifetime customer, the man behind the counter treated him with disrespect, belittling him. My husband was so shocked with how he was treated. Never in his life has he been treated with such distain in a retail establishment. I would hope this is not your usual customer service and I am one to give everyone grace, but I am not sure how you keep any customers with service like that. Thankful there was another pool company in same commercial strip - Leslie's- that had exactly what we needed and treated us like a valued customer. Everyone has a different experience and a different rating system. I went to the store this morning with a new pump issue (purchased online). The store manager/owner handled my issue most professionally. He was not a smiley faced kind of guy but he knew more than all the other pool stores in Cape Coral combined. I'm sure he has had his fill since the hurricane. I have had pools my whole life so I know a lot about pool "stuff". So it is refreshing to finally find someone in the Cape that actually knows what he is doing and more! read more

Very poor customer service. The manager?/billing worker Antoinette should be fired. She should not verbally attack and yell at a customer, over her incompetence. She is rude, unprofessional, and has provided incompetent services for over a week. She refuses to allow you to speak with the owner, or anyone above her. She needs customer service training, or to find another job. Have been a customer for over eight years. Definitely won't be back, as long as they allow her to continue to treat customers poorly. I had been very pleased with my service at this store until my most recent encounter. My salt cell was leaking so I made arrangements to have them check it. I waited six weeks before someone came. I was told I need a new cell and controller. That seemed reasonable. So Drew told me the estimated cost and wrote the ticket up for the next day. He told me that I would receive a $125 gift card for the store. Then I had to wait two more weeks to have it installed because the tech was taking some time off. I went in the store July 2nd because I received none of the paperwork (bill, warranty, invoice, etc.) The store was super busy at the time so Jessica told me she would give me a call later that day. No call. I went to the store on July 11th to inquire about the paperwork. Drew gave me a receipt since they had charged it to my credit card. I asked about warranty information and Drew told me that I didn't need to do that because my warranty was with them. Then, I asked about the gift card. Drew told me that Jessica would have to handle that but she was on her way out the door because it was her short day. He promised me that she would call me the next day. That was fine. It's now 3 days later and I have yet to receive any calls from them. Any communication about this has been initiated by me only when I went to the store. I just hired a new pool company and will never spend any money at Pinch a Penny again. This manger does not seem to care that I have spent a great deal of money over many years. I purchased an expensive new pump from this store. They installed it. The installer Josh told me to buy one of their motor covers to protect the computer on top of the pump. I did. When I came home it didn't fit because he installed the pump to close to the wall. I wanted to protect the computer as he advised me. Why suggest to me, that I get a cover made for my pump, then you do not install it correctly for the cover to fit? I called and spoke to Jess about them coming back and correctly placing the pump and let her know they didn't bolt it down either. After over a month of being told 3 separate days Josh would be out to correct this problem, each time no one ever showed up. I called yet again about when someone would be at my house to fix this because I'm getting sick of staying home from work waiting on Josh to show up and I never get a call that he isn't coming. On that call I was told I would have to pay them another service call fee of $129 and this is after 3 phone calls with Jess who told me I didn't have to pay for another service call to move the pump or bolt it down. I called back on 7/30/2020 and requested Jess to have the Owner Matt call me. It is August 28, 2020 and I have not received a call from anyone much less the Owner. I will NEVER step foot in this store again. Nothing but problems and getting the run around. I can't believe this is how they treat long time customers who have purchased expensive pool equipment past and present and supplies over the years. Pathetic! read more

The tech arrived with an attitude. I asked him to meet me at the gate, I had to put dogs in the house. He was annoyed with the request; the previous tech was great, this guy...not so much. Then the owner called me the next day to yell at me for " you know what you did" ! Are you kidding me??? Didn't curse, didn't yell so no I don't know, but I'll never do and would never recommend anyone doing anything with these clowns again. Worst customer service ever. read more
