Pinches is a restaurant owned by a corporation that owns several restaurants in Southwest Florida. It sits on the water actually right in the marina and it was a nice place to be. Well, I like to sit at the bar the first words out of the bartender's mouth was we don't run tabs. Well that was very welcoming. I a question why and he said we've had too many people walk out without paying fair seems to me there's a better way of handling that you keep the credit card at the bar until they're ready to check out and then you hand it to them along with the bill. This seems so much friendlier and very easy to implement. The manager of the this location came over it was very congenial and when I asked him about it, he his response is "that's just the policy." God, I hate those answers. It definitely disempower a manager. There are certainly other ways of handling this loss prevention next year I wouldn't return just because of that. I am immediately distrusted from the moment I walk in so that doesn't seem very welcoming to me They have this very unusual two for one drink policy. I ordered the watermelon and basil margarita tall but you have to ask for it tall otherwise it's just served in a short glass. I ordered the sautéed shrimp taco. There were two of them. It came with a little bit of a mango slaw I think and coleslaw and I had the french fries. There's nothing remarkable about the food. Our waitress Doreen was terrific. She knew when to come and ask if we needed more and when to just leave us alone. This is just a straight franchise like location. It's in the Westin hotel complex which are private homes. The hotels condominiums is quite sprawling and a very large marina. I wouldn't return simply because of this no tab policy. As a customer, I felt I was not trusted. If you're having lost prevention, it seems to me there are other ways of handling it. I've actually never been to a restaurant that didn't run a tab and especially one that my first greeting is "we don't run a tab". Nothing remarkable here and I probably wouldn't go to any of their other restaurants if the no tab policy is in place. read more

We ate at the Fort Myers Pincher's a month ago. This was after we'd eaten at its original location years ago. I was disappointed in the food, service, and the ambiance. The food was very late in coming to us, despite the fact that it was nearly empty. The fish wasn't crispy, & the veggies were oily! Visiting Ft. Myers and this place was suggested by friends. It's a big spacious seafood themed restaurant on the water. Draft beer was 2 for 1. That's a big plus. I ordered the full fish and chips( they have a smaller portion) with hand cut fries and green beans. Everything was tasty and filling. Our waitress McKenna was outstanding. I'm not sure if this is. Chain, but it kind of looks like one. Sort of a seafood Applebees. But the waitress was super friendly, service was good prices reasonable and portions very large. Started with chowder,,,crab, I think. It was good, but could've used a few more chunks of things in it. Then I had the fried fish sandwich which was very good and huge! Came with coleslaw and fries. We took our friend there last night for her birthday and had an awful experience. We were there two hours because the service was so slow despite the restaurant being empty. Their ac was out so inside was very warm. The food was good but by the time we go it most of us wanted it boxed. We asked the bartender for a manager but they never came by the table. We were SO excited to finally go to Pinchers after seeing them around Fort Myers for a while! I'll start by saying the views from the restaurant are great! Right on the water & high up so you can see a lot! So it was a fun place to take guests that were visiting from out of town. Unfortunately, the drinks weren't great & we never ended up recieving our advertised free second beverage. Our shrimp tasted like it was old & had been frozen for a long time or something. Maybe we will try different items on the menu next time. read more

Pinchers is a must visit! The view is remarkable, sitting right on the water it is the perfect place to spend your evening. The hot crab & cheese dip is the best thing on the menu. Cheese, crab, a little bit of spice, and endless chips. What more can you possibly ask for! Some other good choices for food are the hush puppies, shrimp scampi, and the fried shrimp. Another you can not go wrong with is the Alaskan King Crab. They will even help you/teach you to crack it if this isn't your strong suit. We first stopped in to have a drink in air conditioning after a wonderful but wicked hot visit to the Edison Ford Estate. We sat at the bar and were blown away by the service and the friendliness. We also really loved the smoked fish dip - first time we've had one and there were enough crackers! We went back for lunch a couple days later, again sat at the bar, ordered drinks and the cheesy crab dip while we decided on lunch. The crab dip was huge, hot and delicious and, like the fish dip, plenty of nachos to dip. The dip was so filling we changed our minds and went for appetizers - a crab cake and grouper bites. They were both so well-prepared and tasty. The crab cake came with coleslaw and a mustard sauce - somehow it all worked together. The grouper bites were tasty with either tartar or my fav, cocktail sauce. We decided that since we had all appetizers it might be time to finally get a slice of key lime pie - it was shared, delicious and my bad - gone before my camera could taste first! read more

Food is consistently good (though the steamed clams on the Happy Hour menu were VERY small; tasty but not quite worth it). Went there last week with a group, our server was Lucy who was very attentive and kept our glasses filled. The view was spectacular so great ambiance. Then why 1 star; the food was blah, considering the expense (yes the location was worth paying extra for). I had the grouper and it was flavorless, and the fries were so greasy, limp and cold that they were not edible. The person next to me had fried shrimp and he left half on his plate along with his fries. Unlikely I will be back, AND always take the elevator the stairs are horrible. read more

Use to love this place. Last night it was cold outside so we were seated in the dining room off to the side. Waiter was excellent. Small cup of soup was lukewarm and thick. Could have eaten it with a fork. Small order of my fish and chips were lukewarm fish and fries. Bathroom and elevator was dirty. Drinks 2 for 1 were excellent. Overall the kitchen and food are no longer up to par. This is not the first time I had lukewarm food from them. Should have gone downtown for a meal. read more

Beautiful location right around the corner from the Edison and Ford Winter estate. Overlooks the water which is gorgeous. The beers are buy one get one which was cool! We had the cheesy crab dip which was very yummy. I then had the crab clusters - they were good and messy, the garlic butter sauce was a little salty. My husband has been wanting to Pinchers for sometime. We got there for lunch today. It's got a nice beach/fish vibe. They had a good menu with lots of choices. Most of their drinks are 2 for 1 during Happy Hour. I chose a drink not on the 2 for 1 menu. And I highly recommend it, a Key Largo Slushy Lemonade. I ordered the Fried Clam Platter, with fries and Cole slaw. It wasn't bad. The clams are very thickly breaded. And you get about 3 times the amount of fries that you could ever eat. The Cole slaw was really tasty. My husband chose the Grouper tacos. He really thought they were delicious! read more

Delicious! I was so happy to stop in for the Stone Crab Dinner. It truly exceeded my expectations. For $61 I got four large Stone Crabs with two sides. I chose the coleslaw, which was so good, and the Garlic Mashed Potatoes, which were outstanding. The flavor was rich and the texture was made to perfection. The ambiance was fun with a bar in the middle. Happy Hour is all day everyday. Our waitress Lily was excellent and explained everything in detail. Absolutely excellent food! Everything we had was terrific. Our favorites were the coconut shrimp, (really coconut-y), soft shell crab sandwich (loved the Cajun mayo), and the grouper po-boy. General consensus: 3.3 stars. Is this the best meal you're gonna have? Nope. Nor is it the worst. We sat at the water (a big plus), imbibed in their two-for-one drink offer (a successful marketing gimmick) AND we were there with good friends. As such, it was a pleasant lunch. Locally caught fish is fresh. Salmon (my choice) comes from Alaska. My preference for medium rare I guess isn't do-able. The fillet was thin, somewhat over-cooked, but nicely seasoned. Like most places in the area, choice of sides is limited. Frankly, I'm sick of coleslaw and fries. What they give you at Pinchers is no better or worse than any other place. The restaurant is well-staffed, and there are plenty of tables. Nonetheless, you may have to wait since this is a go-to stop for tourists. BTW, you get a $9 credit for drinks or dessert if you have the coupon provided from your visit to the Edison-Ford estate. read more

Food was okay... I ordered the blackened mahi-mahi tacos and they were not blackened. Also the server (NOT our waiter) who brought our food to the table had no clue whose appetizers or meals he was handing out. There were 6 of us crammed into a table that would be ideal for 4. I took a friend from out of town for lunch. We didn't have any wait to be seated. That was nice. Our waitress was very nice, but we never saw her. Floor was absolutely filthy. There was old food and a paper napkin under the side table across from us and bits of something and used silverware under too. The crab and corn chowder was so spicy I couldn't eat it.
