We recently went to Sage on 47th in Cape Coral to celebrate an early birthday dinner for my sister-in-law, and overall it was a great experience. It's definitely on the pricier side, but the quality of the food and service made it worth it. Our server, Stone, really stood out. He was attentive, friendly, and made sure everything flowed smoothly without ever feeling rushed. For food, I went with the day's special, a prime ribeye, and it was excellent. Cooked perfectly and full of flavor. My daughter ordered the seafood risotto, which she loved, and my lady had the tuna tataki, which was fresh and well-prepared. The atmosphere was great for a celebration, and everything came out looking as good as it tasted (I even had to grab a few pictures of some of my familys dishes). Our first time at Sage on 47th. Right next door to Dixie Roadhouse. There is convenient parking across 47th. The hostess seated us promptly but we did arrive fairly early. Around 5pm. The decor is nice but the only drawback are the chairs, hard, small steel so if you want a padded seat get one of the tables next to the wall bench. I'd put service at so so. The server was friendly but it took a while between her visits to the table. My wife ordered the Lamb Burger and I ordered the Airline Chicken. Both dishes were very good but my wife said the fries with her burger were over salted. So the prices are not extremely expensive but it not cheap either. I had 2 bottles of beer with our meal which came to about $70 including 20% tip. read more

We decided to sit outside since the weather was nice , there was a cool breeze and it was pretty quiet around the time we went. We ordered the bucatini pasta, lamb chops, duck fat fries, and the street corn. As you can probably tell by the lack of photos, we devoured everything before even thinking about taking pictures. It was that good. I'll make it a point to snap a few next time because the plating was also done really well. The hostess opened the door to greet us as we approached, which was such a nice touch. Although we dined outside, I peeked inside and loved the funky decor--I'll definitely try dining indoors next time for a different vibe. Plus... the flies. As soon as our food hit the table, they swarmed us. Not the restaurant's fault, just the reality of eating outdoors. Aside from the unwanted visitors (aka 6-8 flies that came out of nowhere), I have zero complaints. The people were friendly, service was quick, and the food was delicious. If there's any way to screen in the patio or add some kind of repellent, that could help. Or for future diners just sit inside and save yourself the trouble. Service is great. Interior is really nice and they have a small stage for live music inside. Cocktails are refreshing and very creative. For food, we got the Charred Oysters, Bluefin Tuna, and Gemelii Pasta. The oysters and pasta were cooked well but could use more flavor for us- not to say others wouldn't love it. All ingredients tasted fresh and you can tell they take pride in cooking their food well. The Bluefin Tuna was delicious! and we'll definitely be back for it. read more

My wife and I just had Sunday brunch at Sage and it was fantastic!We still live in Tampa, but bought a house in Burnt Store Marina (BSM) 2 years ago and are working on finding our "Go To" places in Punta Gorda and Cape Coral. Sage easily jumps into our Top 3. My wife ordered the quiche and I had the pork cheeks hash. Both were superb! I tried two different bourbon drinks and they were awesome as well. They have bottomless mimosas for Sunday Brunch and that's normally a hit with my wife, but she opted out and went for a vodka gimlet. No complaints on that either. Bottom line... This has to be the most bizarre experience I've ever had and I mean it in the worst possible way. Last night I went there with friends for dinner. I ordered an expresso martini with Baileys, which is a very common twist on this classic drink. I've ordered it dozens of times at upscale restaurants and bars across the country. So as you can imagine, I was a little surprised when the server said, "So you want a side car of Bailey?" I told him no and assured him the bartender would know what to do. What happened next floored me. He brought out a regular expresso martini and a shot of Baileys on the side and told me "the bartender wouldn't" add it to the drink. Wouldn't? I've absolutely never had a bartender refuse to make a drink for me, especially one that is as common as I ordered. It got worse...he tried charging me for shot of Baileys and doubled down with insisting it would have thrown off the balance of the drink. There were other service issues and so we left after appetizers to go eat dinner somewhere else. I will NEVER ever go back to this joke of a restaurant again. Unbelievable. read more

Date night this past Friday so we tried Sage on 47th. Very impressed with what they have created from a menu and setting. We started with the raw oyster appetizer which was delightful. The Mrs opted for the Seafood risotto while I jumped all over the Pork Cheeks over creamy polenta with a savory reduction that was spot on. We debated giving them 5 stars but the waitress was intensive but lacked knowledge of the menu and simple wine list. 2 out of 3 of us had a bad meal. The shrimp and grits were terrible. Shrimp was rubbery and the sauce was so overpowering you couldn't taste anything else. It tasted like bottled BBQ sauce with some andouille sausage chopped into it. My friend ordered the savory waffle which was so over cooked she couldn't get her fork through it. Music was good but very loud. Couldn't carry on a conversation. The Lamb burger was the only meal that was good. They don't have coffee you have to get an espresso. There are so many good restaurants options in the Cape - this is not on my list. read more

I was a secret food critic years ago, working as Jean Leboufe . My wife and I visited Sage on 47th for my birthday 12/9/25. Our reservation was for 5pm. We were the only ones inside, other than 4 girls at the bar. A solo male singer started his act shortly after. He was very good. Our server brought us water in a 3oz glass. We ordered drinks; they did not have my Johnny Walker Black (I was surprised) she did say they had other scotch, so I ordered a 12yr. single malt on the rocks. My wife ordered the "Ladies night Special" a glass of wine was included in the $35 meal. I ordered the Lamb chops, 4 thin chops that I really enjoyed. 12-14 fingerling potatoes. No greens which I found unusual. No management ever can to our table to see how everything was. Upon receiving our bill, we noticed my scotch was $20 (short pour) and they charged my wife $10 additional, it should have been included in the $35 meal. Overall the food was very good, service was average, plate presentation poor, ambience was good. Our expectations were higher than received. They have work to do. read more

We liked it! The menu items are all very interesting and different from one another. I do love seeing a restaurant with limited options. I ordered the pork cheeks (for the first time in my life) and my husband got the seafood risotto. My dish was SO tasty and his was pretty good, we didn't like it as much as mine (especially considering the price of his). For dessert we got the peanut butter chocolate pie. The service from Louisa was superb and friendly. Everyone really enjoyed their meals. The menu is great.

Our first time to this fairly well-hidden spot, only open for a month. The dining space is very open, with many seats at the bar and plenty of tables on the floor, many against the wall with comfy pillows on the backside. The pop-rock music was not inviting to us older folks, but management happily turned it down a notch or two to remove it as a distraction at our request. There are tables outside to escape floor noise altogether and we saw some other older folks move to that venue. Service was exceptional by our server Luisa. They have small and larger plates instead of full-blown entrees, 'starters,' and 'large plates.' I am a big eater and ordered nine plates total to get a full-tasting experience. Here are my takeaways.. STREET CORN $10. Corn cut off the cob over a deep-fried risotto log with a crust and some creamy sauce to pull it all together. The fried risotto was very nice, and the corn was not out of a bag. The risotto was warm, but the corn was cold. I would have preferred a fully warmed dish, but the chef was trying to create a two-temperature contrast on one plate. Still, very tasty. LOCAL MUSHROOMS $15. Hard to figure out what variety they were since they were not served intact and caps were missing. Seemed like sliced portabellas, or something a little creamier in texture with big stems. The added green 'crepe' was just okay, but the Chevre goat cheese whip was a more welcome companion taste. CHARRED OYSTERS $12. A delightful appetizer. Four oysters that did indeed taste charred with browned panko crumbs as a topping. They do not overcook the seafood here and it was a favorite item from the small plate side. MUSSELS $14. First the good part, the mussels were plump and perfectly steamed, as good as you'll get. They advertised a coconut chili sauce in the description. I pictured a Thai coconut curry sauce in my head. That sauce did not work for me at all and I just couldn't warm up to it, with no trace of any coconut flavor. Never could figure out the spice components, but it did not help the shellfish.. If only they had simply gone with a beurre blanc sauce, that appetizer would have been heaven since the mussels alone were top drawer. SEAFOOD RISOTTO $22. The seafood proteins were fresh and high quality, and again those superb mussels stood out. The chili pepper sauce that surrounded the rice was bright contrast and delightful. Good, but not outstanding. SEARED BLUEFIN TUNA $28. This was not quite the standout I had hoped, but I'm spoiled from usually having the toro version of this tuna species. It was cooked properly and I found no faults other than yellowfin could have been substituted without probably noticing a big difference. Some horseradish or an umami-based sauce could have made it more worth the price. LAMB CHOPS $28. Four Australian rib chops were cooked to the perfect temperature I specified. They were good and had some pesto on top. The fries on the side were delightful because they were a petite cut and very crispy. PORK CHEEKS $16. Not the priciest item, but the best! An unusual part of the pig that was braised to perfection and was mouth-pleasing and unctuous. Rich and tender, with a sauce that the polenta begged to be dredged in. If you like braised short ribs, you'll love this. My favorite of the night. A+ WAYGU SKIRT STEAK $35. The staff recommended this as the most popular item after I had passed it by initially. Okay, it was good, but not great. I grill churrasco-style skirts at home from time to time and don't normally use Waygu beef when I do. Perhaps it was a bit more tender, but I really didn't note much difference except in price. This dish leans heavily on olive oil drizzled at the end. I think I will skip it next time even though it was executed properly. read more

Tried Sage on 47th for the first time yesterday. I've been hearing great reviews. The decor is cute, open, and welcoming. The have a list of their signature cocktails and our server said it was made fresh. I had a classic margarita, which was done well. He highly recommended a watermelon margarita, but I am just not a fan of watermelon drinks. For starters, we had the yuca fries and the steak bites. Personally, the seasoning was off of the steak bites. So I leaned more towards the yuca fries as the Miami girl that I am. It is served with a garlic sauce. A creamy garlic cilantro sauce might be something fun to consider. The garlic sauce was a tad too thin to really stay on the fries. For entrees, we had the bluefin tuna and the pappardelle. The pappardelle was made in a carbonara fashion with egg yolk and bacon or pancetta. It was good, but not the best I've had. Came out at room temperature. The kimchi is made in house that is served with the tuna. It's great that they have bluefin instead of the classic ahi we have at other restaurants. Our server, Stone, was great. So friendly and welcoming! Loved his personality and service. He gets 5 stars. I think I might've put this place on a pedestal since I had seen nothing but great reviews, and it fell somewhat short. We finally had the chance to visit Sage on 47th and we did not regret it. We were greeted by a friendly hostess and sat immediately. Our server was prompt and attentive, and fairly knowledgeable about the menu. We especially love the decor with the faux wall and high ceilings. The drink specials were adorable and my watermelon margarita was perfectly balanced. We started the evening with the local mushrooms and goat cheese. The flavor was on point but the dish lacked texture. Between the soft crepe, the soft mushrooms, and the melted goat cheese, it was screaming for some toasty bread points. My husband ordered the pork cheeks and I ordered the fresh pappardelle pasta with crispy pancetta. Compared to other restaurants, the dishes were smaller in portion, but we still left pleasantly stuffed. We are looking forward to going back and trying some other things on the menu.
