We were on our way to Victoria from Houston and starving. Thanks to Yelp, we found this place. We were so excited to see they had crawfish, and it was the first of the season for us. Most were pretty small (not the restaurant's fault, it was very early in the season), but the flavor was great on the bugs and the sausage was absolutely terrific. If we're in the area again during the season, we'll definitely try again. My husband had the combo lunch with the 1/2 Po Boy (oysters) and étouffée. The Po Boy was VERY good (stuffed) , and the étouffée was incredible. The étouffée was made with a blonde roux which we prefer. It was super velvety and chock full of crawfish. I am a sucker for good fried oysters and theirs were spot on. The oysters were HUGE and full of flavor. It came with hush puppies and rice, which I barely touched, because I was stuffed from the oysters. The service was great and our server was super friendly. We're going to be making several trips for years from Houston to Victoria, so we're looking forward to hitting Pinchers more often. read more

Husband and I ordered the senior fried fish. It was hot and delicious. Portion was perfect too. Service was good. Ambiance was okay. A fun place but a little overwhelming with all the TV's on plus music so loud that we struggled to have a conversation. We would return with ear plugs for the food. read more

What a neat little restaurant! Family run, clean, hospitable, fast service. We had poboys (shrimp and gator), with etouffee and fries and the kids had fried shrimp and catfish. Everything was fresh and tasty. We didn't have time to enjoy the little pond out front or to visit the candy store but look forward to doing so on our next trip through town. Arrived with high expectations. Left highly disappointed. Ordered the Debbie's crawfish nachos to start. This sounded good but the execution left a lot to be desired. The chips became a soggy mess within minutes. The etouffee was pedestrian with nothing standing out upon consumption. Next was a bowl of gumbo which tasted like Dinty Moore stew. Cajuns around the world would be up in arms of they knew someone named this concoction gumbo. Our entrees consisted of a fried catfish/ shrimp combo and their crawfish/shrimp boil. The fried catfish and shrimp were very good and the only redeeming item on the plate as the green beans were so mushy you could eat them through a straw. The dirty rice seemed like it was a mixture of over and undercooked rice giving it mushy with crunchy bits consistency. The crawfish was ok with another issue with a mixed bag of both week cooked and way overdone crawfish. I prefer spicy Cajun food and the boil would rank just above mayonnaise. Finally we tried the bread pudding. It was sweet. That's all I can say about it. Overall I would skip this place and look elsewhere for my seafood. read more

Happened to stop here, on one of my drives to Houston, to meet up with some friends for lunch. The place sits, in plain sight, right off the highway; not a very big place on the inside, but the outside ponds with ducks, geese, etc make an appealing entry. The service was good; we were taken care of right away. I was not too enamoured with the bowl o' popcorn for "complimentary munching," but I guess it's a gimmick that serves them well. I had the catfish plate. My friends had shrimp. All the food came to the table hot, fresh, and good. Yeah, the bulk of the menu offers fried fare, but the coatings are not heavy, greasy or "off" by any means. The catfish was pretty okay. Their prices, however, leave a lot to be desired. I don't often pay $14 for lunch anywhere. But, for a nice respite, to break up a long drive, you can count on a good meal at this location. Great!!! They own their own crawfish farm and know what do do with them. Great seafood and their appetizers are all pretty good. Include: fried pickles, alligator, calimari, boudin, fried green beans, ect... Sour dough burgers, poboys, steaks, catfish, blackened tilapia smothered in étouffée, oh my! Looks like a tourist trap, but it's locally owned and they know what their doing. Next door is a gas station owned by the same people with an old school candy shop like willy wanka in the beginning. My kids and I were vacationing at the RV Resort in El Campo and decided to try on this place for dinner. It was excellent. I got a seafood boiler pot with crab and shrimp. This place is a little piece of south Louisiana smack dab in the middle of Texas smoked meat and Mexican food country. One of us in the group had an excellent grilled shrimp salad and another had a light roux crawfish étouffée. Both raved about their dishes. I had the shrimp poboy and everything about it was spot on, the fried shrimp were perfect and the bread was good. My poboy dressings were on the side and it's medium sized. Very rude I would not recommend this place if you would like to be in a good positive environment, my father had asked what was taking so long with our food since we had been waiting a while and the guy he asked near the register which wasn't even our waiter said "are you being a smart ass because I have a smartass answer for you" then walked up on my father as if he was going to do something while he was sitting in his chair the guy continued with his rude remarks and bulgar language when all my father asked, what was taking so long, ended up leaving without even eating, I'm not sure if that guy was the owners son or what but I know he is not good for business and that he will have a major impact on that places success don't no one wanna be in that kind of environment rude as fuck and not polite to customers. Service was outstanding, tables were clean. The owner was there and told us to come back next week when they start harvesting their own crawfish from their crawfish farm. Had to visit after the Texas Country Reporter segment. Was not disappointed at all with the service and restaurant. Craig and Debbie were beyond the best host while we were there. Sat down with us and told us their story. Overall great people! Only downside is their personal farm crawfish weren't available yet so have to go back. I've heard they are worth the trip. read more
