The office received insurance payments yet also charged me via Alphaeon, causing double billing, unnecessary debt, and major stress. I'm not the only one they've done this to--I've seen similar complaints on here about misleading insurance info, improper billing, and pushing patients into third-party financing. I've requested refunds with no resolution and reported this to my insurance provider. The only way to get the money back appears to be legal action through breach of contract and fraudulent/wasteful activities by Pine Dental. Always verify coverage directly with your insurer and get written details before treatment or financing here. If they refuse transparency, choose another provider. Eddy is my hygienist and I've been seeing him for over a year now, he makes my dentist anxiety completely disappear! He is such a great person to work with, he is super patient, understanding, and personable! He is great at having a casual conversation to distract you, and even remembers things we have talked about between sessions. I am the type of person that normally has full blown panic attacks going into the dentist, but now I feel relaxed getting treated here. All this company wants is money, you go in for one thing and you come out paying more money because, they always find something wrong with your teeth on every visit. My wife and I have been patients at Pine Center Dental Group for several years and for the most part everything was fine. Most of their Dentists are good but it's the luck of the draw. All of their Hygienists are great. Here's why I will never go back. They did a crown that only lasted 13mos. When I did a impreession for a new crown I had to come back for a better impression of course the temp fell off and had to come back. When the new crown was finally ready the Dental assistant dropped the crown down my throat, then the "new"dentist" installed it with too much cement, he then tried to remove it but it was too late, he then proceeded to grind and grind because it sat too high. He said give it a few days it should feel better, after a few days it was still too high so they continued to grind away on the new crown and and apposed. My tooth hurt ever since. read more

I came in for a regular check up . They told me I have problems with my teeth and gums . I know I don't . I have a regular dentist I been seeing but now doesn't take my insurance. I was pushed very hard in getting the lazier gum procedure. My insurance doesn't cover that . The accountant there was so manipulating. She pushed me to open a care . I told her I don't want any cards She said she can check if I'd be approved and it's a soft hit on my credit report. I didn't want to but I kept getting pushed . I was approved but after they didn't tell me that they will do the procedure. I thought I was getting a cleaning . I did have a cavity and had an appointment set up . I cancel the appointment . I was so uncomfortable with them but the accountant at the desk called me and wanted me to keep my appointment . I told her I don't want to come back . She said I already charged . I got so angry . So on the card they open for me I got a $2,600 charge I had the procedure done without knowing . Thinking I'm it's just cleaning. I got the bill in the mail and have been trying to you dispute it . I can't because I sighed . I was tricked . I'm a quiet, calm & patient person but I went there and didn't care told the lady off . She had people sitting there in the waiting room . To calm me down she only took off $260 . I'm on such a strict budget . I told her this bill is going to cause me to be homeless . She didn't care and I asked for the owners number or email. She refused to give to me please anyone who sees my review be careful . This put me in depression. The card they had me open turned out to be a hard it on my report I asked her why did you say soft hit and she wouldn't answer my question . Most of the staff there are the worst I have ever seen . I was nervous to come here. My original dentist referred me here cause they weren't able to do a wisdom tooth extraction. But once I got here they made the process easier by giving me all the docs to fill out on my phone to send to them & then I was seen within 10-15 mins. I got an X-ray for my teeth then I waited about 5 mins to see Dr. Hussein. He told me I needed to get approval from a specialist to remove my wisdom teeth and told me to wait from 2-4 weeks. I am a bit anxious but the staff made it pretty easy to go through. We shall see what happens in 2-4 weeks!! So far I'm just nervous to get Surgery on my teeth!! read more

So I reported them to the ADA and they said there was some negligence but not GROSS negligence so if anyone else reports them, they will reopen my case. The tooth the doc worked on is concaved so every time I eat, food gets stuck around it so I have to pay for that to be redone, as well. My caution is to NOT sign anything electronically from them and make SURE everyone is clear about what is being done. They have cost me over $3,000. read more

The doctors are always great. Good at explaining the results of your exam to you and very kind. I have had multiple rude encounters with reception and hygienists, however, that have made the experience not enjoyable. Receptionists are extremely snippy and demeaning if you try to ask (politely) any clarifying questions about what is covered by insurance or not. Two cleanings ago I had an issue where they told me at the time that my xrays were covered, but then got a bill for them a month later. Manager was apologetic on the phone saying they didn't catch that they weren't covered twice a year, only once a year per my plan, but sorry I would need to pay anyway cause "they were already taken." Although I wouldn't have agreed to have them taken if I knew they weren't covered. So remembering that experience, at this appointment when I was quoted $0 for xrays, I asked if they could please double check the timing with my insurance plan just to be sure. I got a very snippy response of "As I just said, they are covered" - points to the line on the paper where it says $0 by "xrays." I just nodded and let it go. The only charge was for Fluroide, I asked to please skip it this time as money is tight right now. The receptionist said "Well, you'll talk to the hygienist and if you STILL want to skip it, we won't charge you in the end." My experience with the hygienist then followed with her being rude about my declining it. At the end of the cleaning, I was walked back to reception to check out. Reception said "That'll be ___ (the price of the fluoride)". I said, "Oh, no. I didn't do the fluoride." She says "Oh, you didn't end up doing it? Well, I'll have to check with the hygienist that you truly didn't have it done" and proceeds to walk 3 feet past me to talk to my hygienist right behind me, then comes back behind the desk to say "please disregard the charge, lets schedule your next visit." This demeaning tone was consistent from reception and the hygienist throughout the visit. I should not be made to feel looked down upon if I am declining services not covered by insurance due to cost. It's a shame, my first few experiences here were good. I even referred a few friends because I truly appreciated my experiences with the doctors themselves. Now my experiences with the support staff have ruined my experience here. read more

It has been a long while and I hesitated to even write this, but I feel this needs to be said. My mom signed up with Pine Dental as they accepted her Medicare Insurance. Each time she went in for her dental hygiene appointment she was never in the chair more than 30 minutes. They never flossed her teeth at the end of her appointment and always insisted she HAD to allow them to use a special mouth wash at the end of her appointment that cost her about $78, in addition to her co-pay. I in all my years of having dental hygiene work done, I have never left the chair sooner than an hour, never left without being given a full flossing and never sold a swig of special mouthwash. My mother's co-pay was very low and it likely wasn't worth their time to see her, which is probably why they didn't do a complete cleaning and pushed their magical mouthwash every visit, which was three times a year. The last straw was when they claimed they spotted something suspicious on her tongue that was likely cancer and booked her to see their oral surgeon. Red flags were waving in my opinion. I took her to my dentist AND to her physician for a second opinion. Both told me there was nothing suspicious or anything to be concerned about. We never went back to this office. Again, this happened a few years ago, so perhaps Pine Dental is in better hands now. read more

My first exam by Dr Mana in February revealed 2 problems. One was a root canal that would require an implant ($5k) and the second was an onlay that would need to be redone due to a cavity ($1k). Its been 8 months and those "problems" were exaggerated. The root canal only need a redo root canal and post ($2k). The onlay tooth is just a "watch" by my new dentist ($0). This screams one of 2 things to me, either unethical or uneducated. read more

Receptionist is horrible. Very rude and unhelpful. I was in pain and had to wait to get in for my appointment and receptionist just turned me away saying I needed to call a different office AFTER they took me in and took x-rays never looking or asking for my referral. Told me I scheduled the appointment wrong instead of helping me after I waited almost two weeks for an appointment. Apparently they do root canals which is what I needed and they excepted my insurance but would not see me because I already had a general dentist. read more

I was referred to Pine Center dental because I needed to get a crown done but when I went in I was told that I had another option a less invasive option which made me ecstatic because I was fully prepared for the cost and procedure of getting a crown. Dr. Tabesh gave me the option of doing an onlay and throughout the procedure he was nice and made sure I was comfortable and that I was not in pain. Of course I was super nervous since I had not had this procedure done before, but Dr. Tabesh walked me through the whole thing. My tooth looks amazing almost as if I have not had any work done. It matches so well which was a worry of mine that there would be a noticeable difference. I highly recommend Dr. Tabesh if you are looking for a leas invasive option and I would 100% go back and get work done with him again! read more

This is ridiculous! I have a appointment at 1500 and we are told to wait OUTSIDE the building in the cold because their existing training ran overtime and into our appointment! The worst part is that they weren't apologetic at all when they told us to wait outside. Update: In spite of the initial annoyance, I found the overall service satisfactory. This place sucks, I hate doing reviews and saying something about a business when I know they try their best. BUT this place? Please. The only nice person to talk to is the staff manager. Dont expect to get seen at the time of your appointment, which is highly unprofessional. Whether it's for dental surgery or for a quick check up or scan they always have an excuse for helping you way past your appointment time. Also, their staff isn't trained properly on given patient cost information. Had I not put my foot down they would have charged me for something that my secondary insurance covered. All about money.... This place is only about making money for the office. I go in for a teeth cleaning, no cavities and after 2 hours (and nothing done except xrays) they bring in the hard sell and quote me $1500 for deep cleaning and antibiotic (arrestin). The "laser cleaning" is of course not covered under Cigna and is "needed". Ok, how about you do it the old way and remove the non-covered treatment. Okay, so the quote goes from $1500 to $300. But now they want $65 a tooth for the medicine. Ok fine...not happy but fine. So I book the 2nd appointment. Sit down in the chair and the dentist says, well since you won't let us use the laser we'll have to use the antibiotic in like 12 more teeth, so we're back to $1000+. Or we can just do a partial job and you can deal with it later...okay so for $300 I get a half-done job, for $1000 I get to add the medicine (not really labor, just medicine) or I pay out of pocket for the laser which isn't covered. They is no way their material cost is close to what they are asking me to pay. And it's an hour or two of work and they want $1000+. It's a bait and switch, smoke and mirrors game here. It's all about making money for the office...that's the bottom line. read more

I was assigned to this dental office by my insurance and was a little nervous after seeing the reviews. However, I had a great experience! Everyone was extremely nice and made sure I was comfortable throughout my appointment. I went in for just a check up and felt that the dentist was very thorough when completing the exam. He provided information on a few available services they offer but did not push them at all. Overall, very happy to have found a great dental office that is close to where I live. After waiting 45 mins I asked the receptionist I would need to reschedule as it's been over 45 mins and no one has called us in. If I could give no stars I would. DO NOT GO HERE! They lie to you and try to upsell you for things you DON'T need! I came here just over a month ago and knew going into it, I have very good insurance and shouldn't have to pay for anything out of pocket. Having my braces off recently, I knew my first cleaning wouldn't be pretty. I was prepared by my Ortho of that and they just told me to give it some time. This place recommended some medicine they stuff into the gums and lasts 21 days, some irrigation and fluoride. They came back with the RX paper and a total over $500!!!. I said none of that is covered? They said no and I knew something felt weird as my benefits plan showed $0 for everything. They made me feel very pressured into getting the treatments and that if I didn't, telling me it could just get worse and lead to things that cost more to treat. Long story short, I went ahead with the treatments and called my insurance when I left. I found out EVERYTHING would have been covered if they had done a deep cleaning or the root scaling first! Well, clearly as this was my first visit, that didn't/couldn't happen. I felt lied to, extremely pressured and that they're just out to get $$ from patients. I am in fact owed $ for the fluoride and am awaiting that. The lady who handles the money, is rude and talks to you like you're stupid. I went back and forth numerous times and it wasn't pretty. I had to get my insurance peeps to call them to explain things as I wasn't being listened to at all. I will not be returning. EVER. At the end of the appt, they wanted me to schedule appts every 3 months for cleanings, but I know you only get 2/year covered so NO THANKS! I now go to a different dentist and told them everything that had happened. They were so surprised they recommended such treatments on day 1 and said they would have explained how it's not covered by insurance unless x y and z were done first. AND they wouldn't even do those things on day 1, especially for someone who recently had braces removed! Also, my current dentist says I don't have any signs of periodontal so appts that often are not needed. I'm telling you guys all of this so nobody makes the same mistakes I made. read more

Having been given the run around to get my four wisdom teeth removed. Many dentists overlooked our insurance and wanted out of pocket exaggerated fees! Many shared horrific experiences with the procedure and discouraging facts that alarmed us. One phone call to Alma at Pina Center Dental resolved it all! With her extensive insurance coverage knowledge and calming demeanor, we were scheduled for extractions and got the general anesthesia all for not a single fee. Everything seemed to be covered by our insurance and the outcome and treatment at their office was outstanding. We recommend the surgeon and his staff as they did magnificent job in a timely manner and not to mention the recovery was instant, painless and if we had to we would do it all over again. beware the scam!!! had cavities, refused to do a cleaning, cavaties were filled at break neck speed and in under a year fell out causing $1000s of dollars in root canals. owner is a root canal specialist, i watched him take the tray from a patient that had just left and reuse the instruments on me, open my painful tooth which was where the filling had come out and cause root canal, then say... oh i can't and won't do it i'm not a specialist. your card says specialist, beware they tell you you have tons of fillings, don't do them correctly and then they fall out costing you root canals in the $1000s read more

I realized I've forgotten to write an update. So after being furious with my visit in 2009, I went to another dentist who was recommended by a friend. (I refuse to go to another dentist without any recommendations) The second opinion went extremely well; they took a whole new set of X-rays because I wasn't able to obtain them from Pine Center Dental Group without paying extra $25. No special $75 dollar irrigation needed, nor any new cavities needed. They did mention that I can replace my old cavities if I like, but can be done over time and is not emergent. Insurance also covered me 100%, including the porcelain re-filling that I recently decided to go ahead and change out. At the second opinion visit, they debrided my usual coffee stains and sent me off. Boy was I glad I walked out of Pine Center Dental Group; saved me 900 buckaroos and that's many more new restaurants I can go to and write more yelp reviews for! read more
