I first came across this place a few years ago when my wife and I visited the Berkshires. While…read morewalking by, we noticed several prints in the window that we thought would look great in our home. We decided to step inside and found even more things that caught our interest. They had a variety of items--jewelry, souvenirs, framed prints of artwork, comics, maps, and something I found particularly unique: framed book spines. As we browsed, the employee working there was incredibly friendly and helpful. Although we were initially on the fence about purchasing an art print, we ended up getting that along with some of the framed book spines. We recently returned to the area and decided to stop by again. This time, the owner was there, and he was just as friendly and helpful. A few years back, some coworkers had given me a gift certificate for the store after I told them about it. I had completely lost track of it, but the owner called his wife to see if she could locate any record of it--and within 10 minutes, they found it! We left the store with another large framed print, another book spine, and an enlarged, framed vintage train ticket from the Northeast Corridor. If you're ever in Pittsfield and looking for wall art or unique souvenirs at good prices, definitely stop by this cute store.

This is a great shop in downtown Pittsfield. Went in with the intent to just browse; but ended up…read moreindulging my creative side making some customized magnetic license plate signs (for Xmas gifts). There's something for everyone in here. I really liked the oversized framed book spines of classic (and some contemporary) novels but was already $140 deep on the magnet signs lol. Otherwise I would've bought more! Added plus, the store manager gift wrapped my purchases beautifully. Would absolutely come back here next time I'm out in Western MA. Prices are (in my opinion) fair to a good value, I guess it's dependent on what your personal price point is and what you want to spend.

I love Marshall's Stores but this Marshall's in particular has the most unhelpful, rude employees I…read morehave ever experienced in all the Marshall's I've shopped in. I no longer will shop there because of this.

Very rude staff here. (the younger ones ... the older staff seem to be pretty on point). I had a…read morereally bad check-out experience while trying to return something with a clueless employee who also had a chip on her shoulder. I think they should allow some of the older, more experienced staff with better customer service skills handle the returns. I shop at Marshalls a lot ... A LOT! And have never had as bad customer service as I did at this place. The selection here is just kind of blah. Lots of fleece, flannel and hoodies. It seems like this location has more workout stuff than actual clothing. The home section is also surprisingly small, except for candles which they have a ton of. If you are looking for workout clothing, hoodies or cheap Chinese down jackets, this is your spot. If you are looking for business clothing or even some nice, name brand casual stuff, you are probably better of going to the outlets in Lee. Again, my best suggestion is to retrain the younger employees with the premise that people will not shop there if the cashiers are moody and grumpy. I know it's probably only a part time job for them but they should act more like the older cash register employees who seem to give a damn about customer experience. If you don't know the policies of your store, don't make them up and stick with your answer stubbornly. It will be more embarrassing for you when a manager has to correct your mistake and apologize to the customer who knew the policy all along.
