Reading most of the reviews they are around weddings. I'm interested in the golf and the other facilities. I have played two rounds here so far and spent some time in the club house as well. So far I am pleased. I will be attending an event to recruit new members. I will revisit my review after that event.

Front doors. Excuse my crookedness. I wasn't sober.

My brother's wedding reception was at Pine Forest Country Club this past weekend, so a review must be made (congrats Kelsie and Chris!). Now, I've been here before for Homecoming pictures in High School but I had never seen this place decked out to the nines for a wedding reception. This venue is gorgeous, and of course very large since this is Texas we are talking about. They did a beautiful job making the night an extravagant affair. The only hiccup was that they didn't have champagne at the beginning of the night which was quickly fixed once I told my grizzly mom. We had paid for champagne in our package, and that's what I wanted to drink at my brother's wedding. We're here to celebrate! Other than that, everything ran smoothly from the cocktail hour to the buffet to the garter toss to the money dance. Don't know what a money dance is? I didn't either before this weekend, so you're fine. Thank you Pine Forest Country Club for making my brother's big day even that more special!

Hidden gem of a private club in West Houston. Easy access from the Memorial, Spring Branch, Katy, and NW suburbs. 27 holes of spectacular golf. Very active membership of a great mix of ages. Membership is almost full and events are great. Beautiful resort pool, indoor tennis courts, all new locker rooms for both men and women. Food is wonderful, staff is like family. Wonderful youth programs and beautiful patios.

Great facilities. Good food. Friendly staff. Some members need to improve their conduct and respect for people not like them.

The club is part of the Invited network (formerly known as ClubCorp). It's my opinion that the club, while not in bad shape when I first joined, has improved over the last few years. The golf course has been one of the better ones I've played on, and it's great having three 9-hole courses to pick from. The pro shop generally has a good selection of equipment and clothing, and members get 20% off on clothes. Sports like pickleball and tennis are available. Also, groups that play games like mahjong and poker meet here to play. The main restaurant, the Red Wolf Bar & Grille, has many choices with a seasonal menu and monthly drink specials. The waitstaff are friendly and attentive, and if you buy the X-Life add-on to your membership, it's well worth it if you eat at the restaurant at least a few times per month. Special weekly events, like Tasting Tuesdays and Pasta Night on Thursdays, add variety by offering items not on the regular menu. The outdoor restaurant, the Tourn, often has live music and other events. If you live in the area, especially within in Hearthstone or surrounding neighborhoods, Hearthstone Country Club is a great place for activities with family and friends.

This is a very strange course, a lot of short par 4 and 5's but pretty long par 3's in comparison. The layout is very interesting and should take a while for someone to get used to it, but the greens demands good read and speed control. Over all this is a older style course that is straight forward, but not easy.

I have to agree with Mr. Antonio Hassellio here and applaud the Westhaven Golf and Sailing Club…read more Cheers guys, not only have you given me something to wake up for on a Sunday morning but also assisted in trying to keep me on the wagon on a Saturday night! Tony has pretty much laid it out in his review, bunch of guys and girls meet up every Sunday and play an array of courses in and around the Houston area. If you are a sad and lonely Brit guy like me (can I get an aaahhh) and have little or no buddies out here to play golf with (really milking it here) then these are the people to hook up with! An eclectic mix of Americans and Europeans and everyone I've met has been really friendly and accommodating. Good banter whilst going round the course and the fact you get teamed up with similar handicapped players means you don't have to worry about hacking up the course whilst looking like an idiot! Not that I do that of course, really I don't!! As mentioned by the Elitest of the Elite (Hassell) everything is done over the internet with regards to signing up for the weekly rounds, play as little or as much as you want! They also do a really comprehensive breakdown of your rounds and how you competed against all the other players through the individual rounds to the season long standings! Honestly, the stats they come out with would make Dr. Dolph blush! Last but not least, after the rounds they all head round to Ron's Pub off Westheimer in the Galleria district to either recall the shots of the day or to drown your sorrows and question why you ever took up this damn frustrating, frickin hard game in the first pace!! Guess what I normally do.

This group also provided me with my American TV debut, yes seriously. I got to appear nationwide on the box!! I know that "GLOF" is not every ones cuppa but if you ever considered it then this is the best place to start. They always welcome new members and you get a real mixed bag of beginners and 'Pros' so there is a no problem about your ability should you feel that you may not be "Good enough" I could bang on about all the things they do for you but just go visit their website and read about it for yourself. You will get to play at a plethora (WIKI it you dummy) of Houston golf courses at reduced rates and, once signed up, everything to do with organisation and information is done over T'internet I always regarded Golf as a game for wrinklies but it saved me from weekends of house maintenance duties!! I regularly played Football 3 times every weekend until a series of broken legs slowed me down. It was a great mate of mine who gave me the hint. After playing footy one Saturday I came across him in the clubhouse when I went for the ritual after match pint(Gallon or two). He had not signed to play that season and I asked him why? "I play Golf now" said He. "Golf" I replied "You sad toffee nosed old git" "No, no" he said "Here is how it works. Footy takes up your whole weekend and so your missus never expects you to be around. When i stopped playing, she started giving me jobs to do around the house and i was cattle trucked so I decided to find an alternative sport and, guess what, Golf also occupies as much time as Footy, apart from that, you also get to drink beer afterwards" How right he was. I took it up and can tell you that, apart from the game itself, there are so many other benefits and it all makes perfect sense. Some of the best and most enlightening and humorous experiences of my life have occured because I took up Golf but I cannot close without making mention of a website that i ran across called "SHAG" . As a Brit, shagging means only one thing to us ( in Texas I believe it is called 'mekkin lurve' ?!* ) so to discover it has a quite innocent meaning in the States really cracked me up. Taking a look at the website http://www.shagolfers.com/ and finding that it was a kind of 'dating' society was just the icing on the cake for me. What a scream. Although I was tempted, just for the Kudos, I gave them a miss!! There are also plenty of Lady golfers in the mix so c'mon Girls, get out there. Go visit the website and sign up, They will do the rest and, before you know it, you will have something to wake you up on a Sunday regardless of how badly hungover you are. Oh don't worry. I have turned out and played Golf after many a Sat' night Sun Morn' piss up and one hours kip!! The one thing I would say is that, if you are one of those plonkers with a short fuse then Golf is not for you. Go join a Gun club OK!
