Today I tried the spicy Korean fried chicken! Delicious! Good spice and garlic. And the portion was large enough to fill me up at lunch and allow me leftovers for dinner. This is new to the menu, and in the past, I usually order either the beef or the chicken teriyaki, both of which I enjoy. I am a fan of this teriyaki restaurant, with a Korean twist. I love this place. I've been to a lot of teriyaki spots and this one has got to be my favorite. Super friendly and quick service, the restaurant is always clean and the food is sooo good. Most teriyaki places serve really dry chicken but at this spot, the chicken is juicy and they don't skimp on the sauce. Typically orders are ready in 10 minutes. Our family has rotated through the various teriyaki, yakisoba and combination plate options. They have an affordable weekday teriyaki lunch special for $5.50 that includes a fountain drink and one egg roll or two pot stickers. This location along Highway 43 has a spacious indoor dining area, but nothing fancy. Prices are reasonable and I've never seen punch cards or additional discounts in the local papers. read more

I was early for an appointment next door and I was hungry, so I just popped in here to grab some food quickly. I expected fast food teriyaki. This is not what I got. I got an amazing made-fresh-to-order yakisoba. It blew me away how good it was!! Definitely worth the wait. The noodles were perfect, the veggies were perfect, the beef teriyaki was perfect. It's rare that I find a restaurant worth reviewing but oh! Umai Teriyaki is definitely the exception! We live about 9 miles away, but when we are craving Yakisoba, it's certainly worth the commute to go out of our way and get take out from this restaurant. This is some of the best teriyaki and yakisoba I've had in a long time. Their food is made to order, fresh and with care and attention to detail. I know we will continue to come out here for their delicious food and to try different things on the menu (in addition to our vegetable yakisoba of course!). read more

This is going to be a long review. I used to live in the area. I ate my high school lunches here, meals after practices to rejuvenate myself, I had my birthday dinners here, and I came here as much as I could during the holidays when I was in college out of state. Now I bring my wife here and I live 30 minutes away! How time has passed me by. Their menu is not impressive. They specialize only in teriyaki/yakisoba dishes but they do a darn well job of it. The girl at the counter is probably a vampire because she doesn't seem to age and nothing changes about her--even her friendliness. She remembered what my wife had during her first visit which impressed us greatly. What I love the most about them is that it is not always about the money. Their prices haven't changed since 10 years ago even when prices of materials have gone up and they keep the prices low for a good reason. I told them to raise their prices and hire more help because they work too much (again, vampires!) but they told me that a lot of students come to eat so they want to offer something healthy for their budget. Aww. But really, they really need to raise their prices and get more people in the kitchen. Thank you for feeding us all these years. It is too bad we will be moving away. No other teriyaki will compare to oh teriyaki in West Linn!!!!!!! And I have tried many places. read more

One-word impression: CONSISTENT I found this place to be my "go-to" lunch spot while recently doing some work around West Linn and Lake Oswego. The $5.50 lunch special of teriyaki chicken with rice, veggies, a spring roll, and a drink was an incredible deal. The chicken was very tender, and the teriyaki sauce would have made my teryaki-snob brother-in-law happy. I also enjoyed their spicy pork yakisoba noodles, which was also delicious reasonably priced at under $7. And to top it off, no MSG, so I didn't get that post-lunch crash. For a place billing itself as a teriyaki joint you would think they could figure chicken out. The chicken is so dry you could wear it for a shoe. That being said everything else is pretty good. The sauce they use is tasty. Egg rolls are small, but awesome. My favorite is the beef. This place also offers bento sized plates which are the perfect amount for one person and very cheap.
