This place is AMAZING. I recently got married in Sturbridge during the PanMass Challenge and there were no hotels in the area. We decided to have our guests rent cottages from Pine Lakes and I got nothing but rave reviews from them all! The place is clean and very kid friendly, yet we also felt like we could let loose a bit and relax. The workers were VERY accommodating to all of our needs. On top of all of that, my bridesmaids and I got ready in one of their halls (NIPMUC center) AND took photos by the lake and inside the cottage. I attached some of the photos here to give you an idea of the space we were in. 10/10 would recommend and if you're looking for a fun, unique spot for lots of guests to relax, this would be the place!

We booked a weekend in one of the pet friendly cottages - what a great trip! Staff was so welcoming and helpful. The cottage was beautiful and comfortable. They had some really fun events throughout our visit (don't miss the wagon ride!)

We had a great time in our 2 bedroom cottage! The layout was great. The only issues I'd say were that our mattress was hard as a rock and the internet was like dial up. But the experience was awesome and the grounds are beautiful and would definitely go back!

The campground has been completely done over, the campsites are very large, the bathhouses are pristine.

Gibson Hill RV Park - Clumps of animal fur strewn on my site

It was quiet. That's the best thing I can say about Gibson Hill after spending a week there…read more Totally unkempt and in disarray. The roads are a rocky, dusty rutted mess. The campsites while some newly graveled, not well I might add, are not level. The electric at my site kept tripping off. I finally discovered, with no help from the non-existent management, that the service disconnect breaker was bad. Luckily I had an extra 30A cord and was able to plug into the unoccupied adjacent site. How this abomination has any 5 star reviews is above my pay grade. Duringthe week we were here we never saw a camp representative. We were not welcomed by anyone affiliated with the campground and I never saw anyone on duty in the office. Our site had no picnic table and no fire ring and had areas dotted with clumps of gray fur. Obviously noone had inspected our site for cleanliness prior to our arrival. Our first visitor was a 4' rat snake. There was debris strewn all over the grounds. There was one trash container. Unlined and uncovered. No dog poop bags or signs regarding poop pickup. There was a lot of demolition but no new construction ongoing. The "pool" is a 4' deep square under construction and far from being completed. The "resort" signage was a joke. It took me 3 tries to find my way out of the campground. The entrance sign is installed parallel to the road rather than perpendicular to it for visibility. The number of decrepit or abandoned trailers on site was unbelievable. We were never told if the campground was under new management and/or under going refurbishment. In any event it was missing the mark. Unfortunately we paid for a week in advance so we were stuck here. NEVER AGAIN. I'm leaving this truthful review so no other potential campers are duped into staying here. Definitely an absentee owner who doesn't have a clue. Really too bad because the location and grounds have enormous potential. I will let Happy Grounds and RV LIFE know of my great disappointment and suspect reviews. By the way, to the reviewer who said they enjoyed the pool, THERE IS NO POOL. Their advertising is outright false, misleading and deceptive. DO NOT CAMP HERE.

Clean and well maintained roads, grass, nice people, BUT, no nothin, the internet was the worst, the cable only gave you 12 channels, of that 2 have no voice, 1 is for RV how to info, and 2 are the resorts. Yes you can stream but I had to use my phone hot spot several times. No pool, no tennis, no games, nothing. Oh they had a going away party for the old owners with fireworks. The next day they raised the price from $58.00 to $100.00. If you have a class A motor home be careful the road to the site needs tree trimming. I damaged my sky lite on a branch. Never again

The folks who work at the KOA are SOOOO friendly and helpful. They greeted us when we arrived, gave us maps and codes to the bathroom/shower building, and hooked us up with wood and a small axe to cut it with! The Retro RV was absolutely charming. Based on other reviews, we came equipped with cleaning supplies. I think that the RV was sufficiently campground clean. There was no visible dirt, or stains anywhere and no off-putting odors. Nevertheless, we still cleaned the whole RV, especially the floor. I'm including this because I believe that the RV's sanitation would be adequate for most campers but you will have to invest a little elbow grease if you're a neat-freak like me. The RV had a pot and frying pan, plates, cups, utensils and really basic kitchen stuff. There was a cute little coffee pot, coffee and tea. There was a heater and an AC (or maybe it was a fan?), but we didn't use either during our trip the first weekend of October. The bed had vinyl padding that was in sections. We brought a queen sized mattress topper and cozy sleeping bags that fit perfectly over the vinyl and made it feel like home. I believe the vinyl padding would have been annoying to sleep on directly as it would have moved around and sagged in parts. Outside of the RV was a deck with a small table and chairs. We moved the chairs to the fire-pit and sat spent the bulk of our time sitting around it. We roasted hotdogs and marshmallows. I was especially delighted to discover that the RV had wifi! I hoped to write on my laptop sitting by the fire and the wifi sure helped a ton! Our favorite part of staying at this KOA was exploring Brattleboro. The town is incredible, quaint, hippie-ish and friendly. We loved the town so much that we were sold on the entire state of Vermont (this camping trip was our first time to the state). Conversely, the other campers at the campground seemed to be a bit more conservative for our taste. Compared to all of the rainbows in town our fellow campers had bumper stickers and flags that had less welcoming flair. It almost doesn't feel right to dock a star from this KOA because of the expressiveness of other campers, but I got the impression that this was the norm.
