I would give…read moreit a strong 4.5 stars due to a few minor glitches, but because they didn't spoil the fun, I am giving it a 5. The cabins were immaculate. The one-bedroom was roomy, had a pull-out couch, and came fully appointed with pots, pans, dishes, paper towels, toilet paper, and toiletries. The cabins outside of the pet-friendly area also have linens included. Our group rented a mix of studios, one-bedrooms, and two-bedrooms, and each site came with a fire pit that was perfect for making s'mores. There is plenty to do here. You can relax at your campsite, go fishing in the lake, or participate in a plethora of activities like cornhole, pickleball, basketball, arts and crafts, swimming in the pool, renting a kayak, or playing pool. The kids' absolute favorite was the watermelon contest! There is also a fitness room, which is great to have if the weather isn't ideal for walking. For a caution to families, I felt the ice cream and coffee shop was a bit overpriced, especially if you have a large family. It also didn't open early enough for morning coffee. However, you can easily avoid those extra costs by cooking at your site, bringing ingredients for your own coffee drinks, and picking up a carton of ice cream at a local store. On the plus side, the taco and potato bar was better than expected with lots of options, and the $15 per person price tag seemed reasonable. There was plenty of comfortable seating around the green. The camp store also had a good selection, including worms for fishing. It is interesting that the campground is not far from I-84, because when you are there, it feels like you are deep in the woods and far from civilization. I hope we can return for another family weekend in the future!

We had one blanket and it was 50 60 at night my son had luckily brought one from home, and the fridge leaked, so it was hard to keep our things cold and the floor dry. We spent $200 between the store and the ice cream bar and then they charged my uncle $34 all he did was stay for an hour to give my kid a birthday gift. Also they kept my $25 deposit because I have two trips booked but after this experience I don't want to go back. How can they keep that money after what we went through and also how much they have already charged me. I have friends that stay here as well, but they also have stated they will not be going back.

We camped at the group site here this past weekend (6/21-23). I would definitely recommend camping…read morehere with a large group, though it does book up quickly. The group site can accommodate up to 15 people. We had 12 and were MORE than comfortable. The site was large enough for all 6 of our tents and a canopy and could have accommodated more. There was plenty of grass and mulch to set up on, as well as ample space for parking, 2 fire pits, 2 picnic tables and an extra large grill, making it easy to cook for a big group. It was also far enough from other campsites to avoid bothering them, which we were concerned about with 12 young adults. It was located very close to the ranger station which had toilets but no showers. I never checked out the showers because we only stayed 2 nights but the bathrooms we used were clean and well kept. A few bugs in them late at night but that can't really be helped. The mosquitos were present but not as bad as some of the reviews I read suggested. Between the fire, a repelling device and bug spray we were not getting eaten alive. My friend did find one tick but caught it before it burrowed luckily. Just make sure you're checking for ticks each night. Some of the group went hiking which they said was lovely with pretty views. We checked out the beach which was a short walk from the group site. It was mainly set up for kids with a shallow roped off area, though there would have been nothing stopping you from climbing under the rope if you wanted to go for more of a swim. The water was still very cold that early in the season so I didn't get past my ankles. People were also fishing and launching kayaks near the beach. The park was pretty busy the whole weekend, so definitely not a secluded backwoods vibe, which was fine by me since I haven't camped much. I also appreciated the close proximity to Walmart which was useful for getting ice when we ran out. There is also a liquor store a short drive from the campsite, though officially alcohol is not allowed. All in all I would definitely come back here and reserve the group site again. It was an awesome trip for our larger group of friends.

I know it's awful cause I don't remember her name but that's besides the point. This place is so great! There are a lot of families but a few younger people, I was afraid I was gonna be the only person solo camping. But everyone is so friendly the vibe is very relaxed. They had a car show today which was awesome! One thing to know is the traffic noise from the road. You can definitely notice it but that's obviously not on them, just know ahead of time that you'll be able to hear cars. All and all I'm very pleased with this campground and will definitely be coming back next season!!

It was our first weekend of camping and we actually did stay an extra night. But we only stayed the extra night to see our friends who we haven't seen in a long time. Otherwise we have would've been out of there probably Saturday morning after arriving on Friday night. As we drove up to the campground I could see junk cars lining the street before the entrance. Then we pulled into the campground and were immediately accosted by the dumpster with piles of junk next to it and a house with a bunch of boats and farm equipment in the yard. Mike went up and registered which was simple and easy. Then we went through the gate and around to our campsite. As we drove to our campsite there was a tractor parked in the middle of the road and we had to drive around it on the grass to get to our campsite. That seemed odd. Then we drove to this field which had a nice green grass but no trees and this was where our campsite was located. Now we live in a city in Rhode Island and on a road that is fairly busy but not nearly as busy as the road that was about three campers length from our campsite. I was absolutely floored that we would be spending the weekend that close to a very busy road and listening to that traffic constantly. Then I looked around behind our campsite and there were piles and piles and huge piles of junk. Piles of wood , piles of equipment, piles of metal, piles of stone. It was just junk everywhere. Definitely a hoarder's farm. So on one side we had the main road with the traffic and behind us our view was of a bunch of junk. And it just didn't end there. Everywhere you looked was junk. It was like camping in a junkyard. We took a drive the next day because we had read that this was a popular campground with decent ratings. For the life of me, I cannot figure out why that is. We saw many sites which appeared to be seasonal sites. We saw several places where new construction was going on. None of the construction was completed and they actually had a functioning gravel bank right in the campground. There were campers parked next to it and across from it. The newer campsites had gravel instead of grass where you would park your camper. I could see that many people had been seasonal there for a long time because they had their own lawns and sheds and decorations that appear to have been there a long time. But when you got to the end of pretty much every road there was construction equipment working on the weekend, there was construction equipment lying on the side of the road, there was just more junk everywhere. As far as amenities, they have a man-made springfed pond. They do say that it is stocked but there is no swimming pool. They have a baseball field that needs reseeding because the grass is terrible. They do have a playground which looked pretty good. They had a couple of activities the weekend we arrived but we did not take part in them because we are still avoiding crowds. I wish I could say something good about them besides the fact that they are kind and friendly people but I can't. We will never go back again it was just not an experience that was relaxing and that rural atmosphere that you look for when you camp.

The campground itself is secluded and quiet. There are spots for RV and tent camping. Bathrooms are extremely clean and well kept. The lady that runs it is super nice, but don't speed on her grounds or she will destroy you. The lake is home to all kinds of wildlife and teeming with fish. Whether you have a ski boat or a canoe it is accommodating! Overall a great place to get away and enjoy nature!! Just don't tell anyone I told you about the secret spot.

The views were absolutely beautiful, and we may have gotten a little too excited when we spotted the turkeys. The best part was sharing the day with friends we met on a cruise 24 years ago. Beautiful scenery, fascinating history, wildlife, and longtime friends... it doesn't get much better than that.

The location is not too bad, considering it is just a mile off the highway and surprisingly you can barely hear highway 84. We arrived somewhat late on a Friday night, about 8 pm for a planned 2 night weekend visit. It appears the owners spent a lot of time on the entrance, signage and a guard house, but that is where much of their spending seemed to stop. Although our experience with the staff in general was pleasant, our first impressions almost made us turnaround. As we pulled up, we were asked if we had been here before and when we said no, a loud audible sigh and head shaking ensued, directions were given and another sigh when we asked for a map. This is not really the greeting I would imagine was envisioned by the owners when weary travelers arrive at your campground. One of the very odd things about this place is their reservation system or lack there of. Although we made reservations on their website, the staff member literally brushed it away when I handed it to her and only wanted our membership card. It continues to get more bizarre as the staff has absolutely no idea what camp sites are open and which ones are occupied. Therefore, with my newly acquired map, in the dark and not knowing who occupies what site, my wife and I slowly traveled the campground staring out the window for an open camp site, hoping that we found one, which we eventually did without the aid of any staff member. The site itself was pretty good and overlooking the pond, in comparison to the ones that were stacked together in the open field area, which nearly caused me to just turn around and head up to Jelly-stone or the nearest Walmart. I am glad we didn't because it turned out to be a great weekend and great weather. The campground is only 4 or 5 miles from Old Sturbridge Village and we took advantage of that by riding our bikes to see the museum. We will likely not return to the site due to the lack of a true reservation system and the way each site is stacked on top of one another. It is just too much of a gamble on getting a crappy site, when you are traveling long distance.
