I really appreciate this place. I needed a reliable spot to do quick printing of my wedding invitations. I don't post reviews very often but posting one now is me trying to convey how much I like Pine Press and how well the invites turned out. I'd like to give Hassan a huge shout out because he was fantastic to work with. He was helpful and communicative via phone and email and patient in person as he walked me through the different papers we could use. He printed out multiple samples for me to look at and also showed me variations of the corner cuts. I ended up getting two orders of the invitations due to a last minute design change, and he quickly helped with that as well. We also printed envelopes, and he once again patiently walked me through what kind of envelopes he had and let me customize the font. Hidden gem for all of your printing needs I needed to get some templates printed on very heavy paper for a school project and accidentally stumbled upon Pine Press. I got a clear quote (which was very reasonably priced) over the phone. Sent the material via email and Hassan had them ready in an hour. He had neatly packaged the printouts in clear wrap which made it easier for me to carry and transport. I also looked at the website and I was quite impressed with the clarity and the details for the services offered. And they offer a very wide range of printing & binding services. I will never EVER use or even CONSIDER this service again. Here are the facts: I was in need of binding my thesis and paid for the services. Upon getting the book and following his direction to not opening the book for a certain amount of time. When time was up, I opened the book to find the first 3 pages, including the title page folded in half. Not a real problem, mistakes happen. I was not upset and I knew it wasn't on purpose. So I returned with the book with new pages printed and asked to rebind. I couldn't turn in my Thesis with the title page creased. He was going to charge me full price for the service and I didn't feel the original service was complete. He got visibly upset and just grabbed the damaged book, ripped the pages out and just threw it to the ground in a tantrum. At this point, I asked for my money back and left. To never return again. I've debated posting my experience each time I pass the shop on my way to Homestead high school. I can't believe a grown man/business owner threw such a childlike fit. This story is 100% factual and if he posts to counter or deny this event, I will defend my word and my horrible experience. He will know this story is true. read more

I hate writing bad reviews, and have never given one star. Let me describe the product I receive, and you can decide if they truly deserve this rating. I ordered business cards, 5 different versions for everyone in the company. When showing the proof, he zoomed in the design too much and clipped the borders. He claimed that it is not possible to print the design as given (why the hell not?? just make the design smaller, right?), and I had to stand over his shoulder arguing for 30 minutes before he got it right. The final product was so badly cut that: 10% of cards had boundary lines visible, 20% of cards were cut 1-2mm too small and will slip out if you're holding the entire stack in your hand. 10% of cards made their way into the wrong stack. Because of the triple-whammy of poor service, incompetence, and bad product, sadly I cannot give any other rating than 1 star. read more

When I worked in the area, I used to use these guys all the time. They are great. I had them fold my monthly statements. It cost about a quarter as much to have them fold the statements as it did to may my staff to fold them! They were always very pleasant, helpful and fast. One time I left my credit card there when I picked up my order. I had a message from them that I had left my card there by the time I got back to the office. Great people! Great service! THIS PLACE IS AMAZING! i needed high quality business cards with out the hassle and with out the headache, they were closed when i called and the owner kept the shop open while i drive all the way up there helped me set up the file perfectly and we did a couple of test prints to make sure that it was exactly how i wanted it and from there he printed me wall 250 cards i needed plus an extra 50 prints of larger promo cards and helped me with everything gave me exactly what i wanted in a very short time that i didn't think was even possible!! These people are not professional as the owner had me convert all my files into a lower resolution of 72 dpi when my original files were much higher resolution, which would have resulted in higher quality sticker labels. That took me ab out 2 hours! Now I have to go back and re-do all my files! He even explained that it's my file issue that resulted in the low quality printouts, which was clearly his bad guidance as now I've learned that designing for print should be at minimum 300 dpi. The results were very low quality on low quality sticker paper, and my brand logo did not even show up. When I tried to bring this up, my concerns were dismissed. As a paying customer that wasted $110 on these printouts, it's a big disappointment. Not only have I lost that money, but I will have to re-print the labels at another high quality printer that may be further geographically, but certainly produces high quality prints for much more affordable prices. They had to educate me that prints are usually printed at 300 dpi. I can't believe this printer advised me to print out a lower resolution, they obviously don't know what professional printing is! I also noticed that the owner was not flexible, as I had to eat the cost and accept his low quality work. He was planning to print more labels, according to my original request, but I had to stop him and firmly refuse. For my $110, I got 10 reasonable printouts on the standard paper size, but even that was a rip off of $1 per page, where at most places it's $.10. I will never return, and advise anyone who wants professional great looking printouts to go to Phoenix Printing in San Mateo. read more

I went out of my way to this place because of the good reviews. The owner was very helpful with the print and the quality of the paper came out nice. I needed a book printed for my final and I chose one without a spiral bind, I think it was like a glue/adhesive base. When the whole thing came together the book looked really professional. I followed the directions of the owner, he said not to open the book for awhile as the binding is still too hot. I waited 24 hours before looking through my book, I thought to myself it looks pretty good! A couple of days go by and it time to take it to class. We're passing our books around and I'd say about 20 people looked through and opened my book. The book comes back to me and I have pages falling out! Now mind you, I PAID OVER $80 FOR THIS PROJECT! You can imagine the heart break I felt as this was the last design project of my college career. For $80 you'd think a book would last a couple of years. A book is meant to be handled and sturdy and should withstand many years of wear and tear. My book only lasted less than two hours of use. I feel like for the price I paid for the quality it was not worth. The owners weren't bad people or anything, I had a pleasant experience working with them. They were really efficient when it came to putting my work together. Just maybe stay away from this type of binding for any books. read more

Super efficient, Outstanding customer service, great quality I walked into pine press thinking the check-in offer is for 100 free cards. I did not read the buy 100 get 100 free for $24.95. I had to go to a conference the next day. Nancy was amazing and really wanted to help me out . She honored the price that I thought it was and immediately started the layout for my cards even after closing time. I had the business card creative in a JPG format which created fuzzy image. So Hassan actually created a new template for me even after closing time. I cannot appreciate them enough. The cards that came out were such a great quality.
