Following checking out the ocean entry a few of us in our party continued our hike into the darkness to find the active lava fields. we felt safe the whole time and chris was well prepared with snacks , water , and flashlights. It Was an amazing experience to get close enough to the lava where you can feel the heat on your skin and hair! Chris took pictures for our group and was very flexible for any requests we had while viewing the lava fields. Chris also has prime access to the national park. So his private parking access cuts about 4 miles off of your round trip so you have more time to spend watching the lava! I strongly recommend taking the hike to the fields and if im back in the Big Island i will def go back to the fields (or further) with the Lava Boy! Thanks Chris!

With steady encouragement and the message "it will be worth it at the top" and on the way he filled me in with awesome history and an authentic hawaiian perspective which was informative. Once at the top of the ridge I was at a loss for words we were mesmerized, it was completely worth it. We ended up scheduling another hike before the trip was over. Open and comfortable, as well the caretakers are really tentative and helpful and full of knowledge of things to do around town, they also offer a tour around parts of the island a few times a week for a reasonable rate. I think it was around $55 when I was there. Overall I give it a perfect score for the amount of aloha and overall atmosphere.

As coffee lovers, Heavenly Hawaiian constantly came up in my research and I'm glad we toured for ourselves. The grounds itself are absolutely gorgeous and that view from the hill onto the ocean is unreal! I can't for the life of me remember our tour guides name but she was such a joy and extremely knowledgeable. Learning about the different coffee variants that are grown such as Kona typica, Progeny 502, and the "boujee girl" Geisha was awesome to learn about and see for ourselves. Did I mention endless coffee sampling? Such a relaxing atmosphere to sip all the coffee you want and enjoy that view. And the cutest cats on the property were such a delight mingling with the guests. All staff members were so helpful and they even treated us with a goodie bag of freshly picked fruits from the farm and a bag of peaberry bites (my new favorite) all as a thank you for paying a visit on our honeymoon! Was not expecting that all but such a sweet gesture! I would highly recommend Heavenly Hawaiian farms to anyone if you're on the Big Island or in the Kona area. I must admit, I'm not the biggest fan of Kona coffee from what I tried at Heavenly and at other local spots, but for what it is, Heavenly makes a good product. I wish they would have let me take a to-go cup of coffee after the tour, especially after paying for two tickets + $70 of bagged coffee, but they unfortunately limited me to the little sample cups with no lids. The driver was very informative and gave us points of history from the locations of which we stopped. The candy shop stop was the absolute best.
