I spent 3 days 2 nights here with my partner on a church retreat in June. This was my first church retreat so I didn't have any expectations. The place is big. It's so big, they were accommodating 3 different groups the weekend I was there. The room I stayed in had a queen size bed and 2 sets of bunk beds. I didn't get to visit other rooms to see what other layouts they had. I did hear something about a family room which accommodates families with children. For my room, the bathroom was small. They provide hotel size body wash, shampoo, and bar of soap. Definitely bring your own toiletries because what they provide was for appearances only. The bed was comfortable but I didn't sleep on their sheets. Before the retreat, everyone told me to bring a sleeping bag. The majority of my church group brought a sleeping bag and laid it on top of the bed to sleep. Which I did the same. One of the reasons for one negative star is the meal time. Breakfast was 8am to 9am, lunch was 12pm to 1pm, and dinner was 5pm to 6pm. I thought breakfast and lunch were too close together. I felt like I had to force myself to eat at lunch even though I wasn't really hungry. But if I didn't eat, I would have to wait until 5pm. Dinner at 5pm was ideal for me because that's when I eat dinner in general. However a lot of the retreat events ended 11pm. My church provides us with nighttime snacks. Definitely bring snacks with you and a gallon of water if you come here. In the cafeteria, when it's mealtime, it can get very crowded but the lines move fast since there are multiple serving stations. The food was good. They changed the menu each day. Throughout our stay, we mostly hung out at the chapel for the services. When we did small groups, we were able to find space outside or go to someone's room. The days we had free time, there were many activities here. Some people played pickleball or tennis. There was an outdoor swimming pool that was opened in the afternoon on Saturday. I didn't see anyone use the indoor swimming pool. It was a game room with air hockey and ping pong. My partner and I did the paddle boat. There was also a playground for kids. Just taking a walk around the place is a fun activity. However, the biggest downside and contribution to one less star was the goose poop. They were everywhere!! My morning walk with my partner was mostly focused on not stepping on poop. Our last night, my church had a bonfire. This place supplied the wood. Of course our guys went crazy and wanted to make the biggest fire possible. Haha. All in all, it was a nice place to have the retreat read more

Very old buildings, carpets are very old( os many dirty spots that show on surface) Nobody clean carpets for century ago. ( really too old) , bathrooms are dirty, Mold and Urine smell in all our group rooms. Doors are too old and I couldn't open easily. They all stuffings. Price is higher than other Camp sites, Foods are Good. Love the foods except everything else is falling apart. Customer service Ms. Lesley who worked at night, she answer the call but when I told her about urine smell in my room, she literally ignored me. She had attitude. I Do Not Recommend any of church groups to book on this Pinebrook organization. They need to Renovate and Fix all Campus ( Especially in Overbook and ClearBrook campus). I came to Pinebrook for a retreat, and was pleasantly surprised when I saw the grounds. The cabins itself were clean and cozy. The one I was in has a full-size bed, which was very comfortable. The cabin also has two sets of bunk beds. The grounds also has two sets of pools - one indoor and one outdoor. The cafeteria served average food. Nothing too terrible. I personally enjoyed the breakfast options the most. The staff were awesome. They were able to accommodate our 250+ group of teens and our group was so grateful for this! read more

I went to this camp the summer of 2021 and I loved it! I didn't always have money for the snack shack or stuff but it's still cool. There are tons of fun activities and people there. I even learned to swim at Pinebrook! I give this place five stars. read more

My church has been coming to Pinebrook for over 10 years for our annual retreat. We like Pinebrook because it is close to NJ, it is picturesque and peaceful, and can accommodate our medium sized church well. Pinebrook is laid out in a large arc. Starting from the entrance you have: The "Nice" cabins to your right, The pond and playing field to your left The tennis and volleyball courts on the right The indoor pool, office, and game room to the far right The outdoor pool and snack shop to your left The gym in front right with a garden The dining hall on the left Echobrook meeting rooms A two level meeting room The mediocre cabins The in-between cabins One more nice cabin building Two more mediocre cabins One more large playing field on a hill There is plenty of room to spread out and lots of walking around. We've managed to have several groups playing football or water balloon wars simultaneously without interfering with each other. The pools are usually okay and the game room is stocked with all your favorite board games and ping pong. We break out often into small groups and its easy to find places to meet quietly that are peaceful and not distracting. Pinebrook definitely invites a calm atmosphere and meditation. The meeting rooms are wide and open, which allow for a multitude of set ups. The power is adequate for equipment we bring in for the band and A/V and the rooms are air conditioned well. The largest meeting room is the gym/auditorium, which has a wide stage and booming acoustics. The dining hall is serviced by local youth groups who are ministering in the kitchens and cleaning. Things are typically buffet style with hot coffee and tea being passed around by the servers. They'll have a salad bar, cereal bar, and dessert/pastry section set up in addition to entrees and sides. The food is okay overall and the service is very pleasant and helpful. The rooms are what really bug me however. The basic rooms are usually a set of 2 or 3 bunk beds and one full size, sleeping 7 in total. It has one bathroom, one dresser, and one hanging closet. We never use all the rooms to full capacity (Thank God!) because we'd be very very squished and there is minimal privacy. The cabins are clearly old, with dark dank carpet, poor lighting, poor ventilation, and no air conditioning. The mattresses are similar to the kinds in freshman dorms - wrapped in plastic vinyl and overly soft. Shower temperature and water pressure are highly variable. Since there is no ventilation in the bathroom, the moisture will seep into to room and make things smell dank. And if it rains, forget it - everything in the room will smell dank. I always have to wash EVERYTHING when I get home, regardless of whether I used it, because it just smells. My shoes will be soggy in the morning just from sitting on the floor. And no, you can't just leave the windows open - they usually don't have screen and its bug heaven here. The "nice" cabins are equivalent to getting a clean Howard Johnson room. They're much better ventilated, but there are not as many of these rooms. This is all countered by the price point negotiated by the church. All together, I can get a 4 day, 3 night stay with all meals for less than $250 - which is a super good deal compared with going on vacation at the nearby Delaware Water Gap or renting a house in the Poconos. Would I choose to vacation here? No. But for churches or camps on a budget, Pinebrook is a good option. read more

it was the worst experiance our group had the room had no heat , no hot water they told us that there is an indoor pool when our kids went to the pool it was freezing and they told us that the heater is not working , the food was the worst food you can eat , there was bed bugs , some of the rooms had mold and some guests got sick . i do not recommend any one to go there , the boiler broke on one of the buildings and we had to evacuate the whole building .
