We picked here because in our local area we have only been to Crystal Cave and thought we'd give it a shot. Glad we did but would recommend Crystal Cave over here. That said, if you've been to say Luray Caverns in Virginia then you won't be blown away by either of them!

Super excited and filled with festive joy, we walk into Craft Hall around 8:20 pm for our 9 pm tour. We brought our BYOB, and the young lady at the door takes our liquor while we wait for our tour time. We check in with an older gentleman who stated we had to wait around to get the included pizza in the reserved session because it was for the 8:30 pm tour. He'll let the 9:00 pm tour know when they're up. Still excited for the experience, we waited for our tour time to be called for the pizza, thinking they would bring out fresh, hot pizza--but no, no, no, that was wishful thinking. The same pizza was kept for our tour time, and it did not look appetizing at all. Not sure if it was just cheese pizza, but we decided not to even find out. It looks like the trolley tour had a partnership with Craft Hall, and they had a small menu where you could order food, but we were already disappointed by the looks and presentation of the pizza. Unfortunately, when it was time for us to get on the trolley, it was cold and started to rain. We were the first ones by the trolley, ready to get on, but were stopped by the host/organizer and told to wait outside so they could get the bigger groups on first. The groups of twos, like us, had to run on after. We ended up being almost last, even though we were first in line. That was not okay. Finally, we're on the trolley. Yayyy! The first part of the experience wasn't pleasant, but the guy singing and his personality were nice. We snagged a seat at the front and tried to get back in the holiday spirit. The trolley drove and drove, and the first stop was to briefly see City Hall's Christmas Tree. Some people got off the trolley to check it out. Then, the trolley drove and drove again until we got off on a corner to walk around and see the Smedley Street Christmas Lights, which were nice. We got back on and rode through The Miracle on South 13th Street. Unfortunately, the trolley's windows were very foggy, so we weren't really able to enjoy the decorations at that point. The execution of this tour wasn't the best experience from start to finish. The only thing that was truly enjoyable was singing along with the singer. The tour could've been more organized and unique to the different Christmas festivities around Philly.

There are 3-4 different loops and based on the time you have you can choose one path .. yellow loops are average difficulty .. it does have some path which is a little steep steps, but not difficult for middle age people.. might be a little stressful for elderly people with knee pain issues.. there is also a red loop which is a lot more of Walk and takes more time.. there are maps showing each path and approximate distance.. parking is a bit crazy, especially near the entrance.. parking is free.. tickets are about $21 which isn't too bad . Tickets are $22 per person, which feels a bit pricey, and bags are checked before you go in. The grounds have shops, picnic areas for lunch, and even a mining gemstone area for kids. Bathrooms are available, though they could have been cleaner. The experience itself isn't a typical hiking trail -- instead, it's a series of wooden walkways and bridges that guide you to each waterfall. The views are beautiful, but be prepared for crowds. On weekends especially, it can feel shoulder-to-shoulder most of the time. I'd only recommend bringing very well-behaved or small dogs since there isn't much room to move around people. We ended up leaving earlier than planned because of how packed it was, but I could see Bushkill Falls being a nice day trip, especially during the week when it's less busy. The waterfalls are definitely worth seeing, just go with the right expectations!

My boyfriend suggested visiting here as he plays guitar and has known about Martin Guitar for years and the fact they're fairly close to us, right in PA. There is a free museum and then there is the paid factory tour. It's $5 a person and only open M-F. They only take 8 people in each time slot and each slot is about an hour long. You get headsets (with sanitary coverings) and are shown around the factory floor while the staff builds guitars. It was such a cool experience and for the low cost of $5 - totally worth it. Our guide was extremely knowledgeable and they really took us through every step. It was so nice to see workers doing everything in real time as well. The factory is fairly loud so I did need to turn the volume up on my headset fairly high. It's probably not the best idea for children but there were multiple children there and they do have special headsets for them. If you're looking to come and visit you do have to purchase tickets ahead of time and I would recommend purchasing them over a week in advance as when we went to book them the week of there were already many slots filled. The museum which is free to view was also so cool and took you through the entire history of the company and it's standing in the music culture from its beginnings in the 1800s until present day. There were so many beautiful guitars on display. Definitely a neat stop in Nazareth, PA.

If you need to use the restroom before the Tour, use the one in the Betsy Ross House because the one in the Starbucks across the street didn't have any toilet paper. We had a very big group but Toni kept us all together. She is such a gem - a much better storyteller than the Tour guide from the Independence Hall. This tour with Toni made up for the anticlimactic one from the Independence Hall. She was very thoughtful and made sure we always stopped in the shade since it was a very hot day. Her stories were entertaining and engaging. I loved all the historical snippets she'd give us about the timeperiod of the founding fathers. We got so lucky because Benjamin Franklin's printing press was finally opened after a 10-year closure. Such a great addition to The Tour. You donate whatever you want at the end and I would highly recommend it if you're in Philly.

We went to elfreth's alley where we spent close to 30 minutes learning about the Trinity style architecture and lots more. We walked to the courtyard of the Ben Franklin museum. Tom has quite a few tour options...something for most interests and levels of physical ability. He was quite willing to adapt/customize any of the tours to suit our needs. We did a two day tour combo, going hiking in Hickory Run State Park on the first day and learning about the coal mining history of the area on day two. The coal tour included a trip into an actual mine, a mini-tour of the surrounding communities, and finished up with a bike ride down the old switchback gravity mine car trail. What stood out to me, in addition to the interesting locales we visited, was the passion that Tom has to share the history of this area. He wanted to put the mine tour into the context of what it was like to have actually lived as a miner. He added his own information at the mine tour to what the tour operator told us. He shared about how the topography, geography, and geology all played into the story of the coal industry's history. And the mini-tour of the communities helped us learn about the economic impact (past and present) of the industry. Tom not only displays passion for the history of the region, he is congenial and a good communicator. And he is also very observant of everyone on the tour, doing his best to give individual attention to assure each person as a good experience. I only wish we had more time to learn about other aspects of Jim Thorpe's history. I guess we have something to look forward to on our next visit.

As I was trying to understand what happened, my phone rang and it was Tom, who apparently knew this was a frequent confusion. Instead of helping resolve the situation, he told me I was too stupid to read a Google map and that he would not subject his "on‑time VIP customers" to my supposed stupidity. Honestly, a business owner said this. I was stunned and deeply embarrassed, especially standing there in front of my guests. Only afterward did I look up his reviews and see that I was not the only person subjected to this kind of behavior, and I also noticed that some of his positive reviews were clearly intended for the other bike rental business. I am sharing this to warn potential bike riders: Jim Thorpe is a beautiful scenic tour and can be a wonderful experience, but choose your rental company carefully so your day is not ruined before it even begins.

We purchased two tickets for a little over $80 with fees. We arrived at opening at checked in, showed our ID's and were given wrist bands. The woman at the table started to hand us small plastic cup. We said we were supposed to receive actual glasses. The other lady said there wasn't anything 'special' on our tickets to receive the small tasting glass. Not sure why there would be when you read what they posted. Another lady scanned our tickets - again. According to all of the Eckley posts (photo attached) you were to receive a tasting glass as long as you purchased tickets ahead of time, which we did. Finally after back and forth between 4 different women we were given the small glass. It was a hastle and didn't need to be. The two older women didn't want to give them to us, but eventually did with hesitation. That was definitely not a good start to the event. We feel that everyone going should receive the small glass, especially when paying over $40 per ticket. There were probably a dozen breweries/wineries. Two food trucks and one table selling cookies. We were familiar with most of the breweries and were surprised there weren't more involved. We have a lot of great local-ish breweries. I understand it's their first time having this event. We would attend again if there's not the hastle with the glass and if there are more vendors there.

No mention of this even though Peter called the day before to get me to pay more for him to pick us up. I can't stand pushy men, he also followed us into our rental, when my friend insisted on carrying the pizza. If you are a woman planning a bachelorette, maybe think twice. Update: I also filed a complaint with the attorney generals office. This kind of false advertisement needs to be stopped, a communication about the trolley is the only thing I expected. This is worded no where that a shuttle will be used in place of a trolley.
