Let me tell you about this place. I came here because I was having pain in one of my teeth and wanted a simple exam and a professional opinion. However, instead of focusing on the area where I was experiencing pain, the dentist spent most of the time examining my gums then informed me that I had periodontal disease. I found this surprising because no previous dentist has ever mentioned periodontal disease to me. She explained that it was in the early stages and that the sooner I treated it, the better. According to her, if I waited, it would only get worse and become much more expensive to treat later on. The entire conversation felt like an attempt to sell me additional procedures I originally came in because I was experiencing serious tooth pain and wanted to know whether I needed a root canal. They did tell me I needed one but never clearly explained which tooth required treatment.(concerning) Instead, they quickly started discussing scheduling procedures and suggested beginning treatment that same day and returning later in the week to finish. Then came the costs: approximately $1,500 or more for periodontal treatment and $1,689 for a root canal. It felt like numbers were being thrown around without much explanation. I also felt pressured to agree to treatment on the spot. I declined the periodontal treatment and told them I would think about the root canal. I never agreed to move forward with any procedure. Since I was paying out of pocket, I was being cautious. A few days later, I discovered a large charge had been placed on my CareCredit account. When I called the office, I was told, "We thought you wanted to do the root canal." That was absolutely not true. I immediately demanded the charge be canceled and informed them that charging for a procedure I never authorized could be considered fraudulent. They agreed to cancel it but continued trying to convince me to proceed with treatment. Based on my experience, I would strongly recommend getting a second opinion before agreeing to any major dental work at this office. read more

I came here for a simple cleaning. They make you do a bunch of x rays and then after telling you your mouth is in great shape, they force you into all these services that charge your insurance almost 4,000 dollars and you have to pay close to 500 but the real reason for this review is that in addition to all that, they broke my tooth during a regular cleaning! They billed my insurance $1600 for xrays after they told me they accepted my Cigna insurance. Then I was told they made an error and do not accept my particular plan. The lady at the front desk told me that they would NOT bill my insurance for the xrays since I have to get xrays from the next dentist. They lied and billed my insurance anyway. I am not letting this go. I need the dental work done, but you can only get xrays 1 time per year. read more

Game changer! Due to the pandemic and also because I had a terrible experience with a previous dentist in the kendall area I was hesitant to go get checked. However, I got a recommendation to come to Pinecrest Modern Dentist. Upon arrival I felt welcomed and attended. I saw Dr. Medina and he truly put me as ease. Explained everything he saw in my xrays, informative with patience to my questions and gave recommendation. To top off my visit I had my cleaning done by Stavros. He definitely was the cherry on top. I always worry about my cleaning because of my sensitivity but need not worry he was amazingly delicate. Explained everything during the cleaning to help me feel comfortable. I have been waiting a week now for someone to call me back in order to schedule a wisdom tooth removal. I went into Pinecrest Modern Dentistry last week with major pain from a wisdom tooth. The receptionist told me she would call me to schedule an appointment with oral surgeon. When I didn't hear from her, I called the office. In two days, I was literally told 10 different times that someone would call me back. NO ONE RETURNED ANY OF MY PHONE CALLS. No one at that office cared enough for a patient in pain. read more

The office was so clean and up to date and the dentists and hygienists were beyond professional and thorough with their care and post instructions. I arrived at 945am for my 10am appointment for my very first visit as a new patient. Two patients were already waiting in the reception area with no staff to receive any patients. By 10:06am six additional patients had arrived, and finally three staff members show up at the reception. I spend two and a half hours in this office for a simple cleaning and checkup. They tried to "sell" me additional services that were most likely not needed, but I am smarter than that. Never have I spent so much time at the dentist.My next appointment is in six months and I hope my visit will be better next time. I think they just may need to work out their scheduling a bit better. read more

I came to Pinecrest Dentistry for my cleaning and some other tests and I was honestly blown away. The dentist is not my favorite place to say the least, but the staff here made sure I was comfortable and had everything I needed to make my experience the best. Dr. Bunassar and her team are extremely professional and friendly. They take their time to be thorough to make sure everything is done right. Let's not forget how clean and modern the office space is! I was such a fan of their digital technologies - I hadn't seen that at my previous dental offices! It's safe to say i will be back. Wow! I have never had such a great dental experience as I did here. It was easy making an appointment with Dr. Bunassar, they were very flexible and accommodating with my schedule. The staff was great on reminding me about my appointment and sending me the information I needed prior to my appointment. The office is very clean and beautiful with state of the art equipment. Dr. Bunassar was very thorough and we pinpointed exactly what I needed on this dental visit. The dental hygienist was great with my X-rays and made me feel very comfortable. Dr. Bunassar did my cleaning and I have to say it was the best cleaning I have ever had. She made sure to make me feel comfortable and at ease. Today was my first appointment with Dr Bunassar. I dread dentist visits. The office is new so it's bright, very clean and nicely decorated. The staff are very friendly, attentive, knowledgeable and patient. The doctor and her staff explained everything clearly and made sure I was comfortable at all times. Other than the fact I had to get a tooth extracted she and her staff were GREAT! The extraction was nowhere near what I had expected. She did a great job. read more

Scammers. I was here about 2,5 years ago. First when I come in they made me wait for a little more then 1 hour and it wasn't that busy, while I waiting there in the hall I hear front desk personal reading bad reviews and telling each other oh I remember her then trying to identify another patient through another bad review. When I finally sit down The doctor told me I need to do root canals and we can start a procedure today and finish it later. They acted like it was necessary and were pushy about starting it today and finishing whenever the other doctor comes back to the office in two weeks or so. I asked them to see a bill upfront, at first they were reluctant then 2 guys from the front desk come in to take out a lot of my personal information so that they can give me an approximation bill and it reminded me like I was in a car dealership. One hour later I get the approximate total of $14k and they say Insurance will cover most of that. They basically just wasted 3 hours of my life for their selfish reasons, not to mention that the wait was about an hour. I told them I need to get a second opinion and will give them a call back and they never even responded to any of my emails. The funniest thing was when the doctor was telling me about my root canal she was pointing at the wrong tooth totally the opposite of the tooth that "needed work" on my upper jar and after she realizes her mistake switches to the bottom again the wrong tooth points out the root says see this dark spot here it needs work then she realized that she is pointing at the healthy tooth and finally finds the right tooth on the X-ray. I wanted to ask her if I was at the circle. Needles to say that 2,5 years later I still don't need any procedure. read more

If I could give No stars I would. I came in for a dental procedure and was quoted a certain amount. I was told to come back to finish the other half of the procedure and was not told before hand that it would be an additional $440 nor was it ever mentioned prior. I was told that the payment plan they put me on was NOT a credit card and asked the assistant manager several times as I already have a credit card and did not want another one. He "Raul" assured me that it was not a credit card. I recently saw my credit score drop drastically for outstanding fees on multiple credit cards. The only problem is that I don't have multiple credit cards, only to find out that Smile Generation IS a credit card and was lied to just so they can make the money that they wanted to make. I was refunded $440 to the credit card account although it came out of my pocket, but not the other $2000+. These people are nothing but scammers. They may seem nice at first but all they want is your money. The fact that management is allowing this is ridiculous. read more

I would stay as far away from this practice as possible. I went for their advertised $59 cleaning, exam, and X-rays, and left feeling like they did not have my best interests-- their only interest was my money. After Dr. Bunassar did my periodontal evaluation, she looked me in the eye and said she cared about the health of my teeth and gums, but when I declined their offer for scale and root planing, things quickly turned. Once they realized they were not getting the $900 from me that accompanied this treatment (not to mention the additional 90 minutes for this treatment, when I had already been there over an hour), I was essentially jettisoned out of the dental chair, with the hygienist scurrying in and spending a measly fifteen minutes on my teeth cleaning (which was the main reason I was there). I've been to other practices where about a 40-minute cleaning is the norm, so how can a doctor who says they want what's best for their patient send in the hygienist for only a 15-minute cleaning? Once you say no to the scam they are trying to force-feed down your throat, you are no longer valuable to them, so they try to get you out as quickly as possible, so the next sucker (patient) can be brought in. This practice is the reason people hate going to the dentist. read more
