I've been a long time customer of Amores, up until today. To start, the person that took the appointment over the phone clearly has no customer service experience whatsoever. I was not asked the reason for my visit, which I found strange but I figured they would ask me once I get there. Upon arrival the usual procedures took place and they walked me into a room where the dental hygienist had everything ready for a cleaning. I said wait a minute, I'm not here for a cleaning, I just need my front tooth patched (tooth is chipped and they have patched it twice already, first time came out wrong). Obviously someone doesn't know what they're doing there. Next they proceeded to take an x-ray of the same tooth they had previously worked on and had an x-ray. I clearly asked the person if I was going to be charged for that because I really didn't need it, and they said no, no charge. (I pay cash, no dental insurance) After the x-ray they walked me to another room where the dentist came in and saw the tooth. Shortly thereafter someone came in with the estimate. $700 to patch a front tooth, this is not a filling and even for a filling it is excessive. After trying to negotiate with them and seeing it was leading nowhere, I decided to go somewhere else. At which point I was forced to pay $150 for the consultation! After I clearly asked their staff if there was a charge and they said NO. Poor customer service, very low communication skills. This facility is not what it used to be. They lost another client. read more

I returned for my second 6-month teeth cleaning, assuming it was covered by my dental insurance plan. I even told the front desk I was there for a free cleaning and assuming that they verify coverage with the insurance provider before the appointment began. This time, they assigned a young, inexperienced dental hygienist who struggled to floss my teeth properly--nearly pulling out one of my veneers. I had to floss my own teeth during the session to avoid a follow-up visit to spend money to repair the damage. When checking out and trying to schedule my next cleaning for six months later, I was informed that I owed $70 because I had exceeded my insurance limit. I was extremely upset that no one had notified me beforehand, either prior to the cleaning session or, better yet, before I even arrived. I realize there's nothing I can do --I paid and left. But they've definitely lost a new customer. read more

My hygienist is Maritza. She is outstanding! She is thoroughly professional and personable as well. I am a coffee drinker. Her between visit advise proved very helpful in reducing stains. She observes every little detail in your mouth. A few days before my visit I ate some almonds that scratched my gum above my back teeth. She asked me what I recently ate that could have made the scratch and gave me recommendations to heal it. I felt so cared for! Currently in South Florida that level of Customer Service is extremely difficult to find. Dr. Dennis Amores is also quite a talented professional. He has a great "chair-side" manner, keen attention to detail, along with a quirky sense of humor! He ensures all staff provide you with top notch service! I moved to Broward a few years ago and continue to drive the distance for that personalized quality of care! I do not like traffic, so that says quite a lot. read more

I don't like the "dentist" but I love my dentist! I've been coming here for years. There are three dentists on staff. All are very personable and professional. I've seen different hygienists throughout the years and they also have all been excellent. The office is super clean but comfortable as well. They offer a yearly plan if you don't have insurance which will save you on exams and procedures. There's a location right next to HomeGoods across from the Falls. I've always DREADED going to the dentist, but not anymore. The office is very clean, modern and have soothing uplifting music on, and they are always on time. Their staff is kind and free and makes you feel like family. The quality of work is excellent w/NO pain... yeah!! The pricing is fantastic! This was the worst dental experience of my life. I went in because my tooth broke after my filing fell out. They sent an extremely new person in to take x Ray's. I explained how much pain I was in and it should have been obvious looking at the tooth. The dental hygienist spent the next 45 minutes trying to take X-rays and jamming things into my mouth. 4 separate people came in to help. 4. First they didn't have the machine plugged in, then I was told I don't know hours to close my jaw. Long story short, I walked out. I could not possibly trust them to do ANYTHING in my mouth. Even though that means I have at least another week of pain in store. They left my jaw shaking from pain. They never apologized once and told my wife that X-rays hurt read more

After making a tough decision to change from our long-time dentist, my family and I took the plunge and chose to go to Amores Dental. I am honestly sorry I didn't do it sooner. From the first contact over the phone with the scheduler, Ally, to the hygienists that took care of our family, Lauren, Francie, Maritza and Helen, I can't tell you enough of what a completely wonderful experience we have had! To start, we have a special needs son who is blind and in a wheelchair. He needs to be physically transferred into the dental chair. These ladies and others in the office went the extra mile to ensure my son was comfortable and felt safe. I was truly AMAZED, when Francie sacrificially stayed by my sons side holding the xRay probe and the mouthpiece so they could get accurate pictures of my son's teeth!!! This is no small gesture! Lauren did an excellent job cleaning both his teeth and mine. Maritza and Helen took care of my husband and my his reaction was "I've never had such a thorough cleaning!" Then came the check-up with Dr. Dennis Amores who was warm and welcoming. He took the time needed to explain our dental health without rushing or giving a sense of insincerity. He was the real deal, caring for us, his new patients, as if we were part of his family. Before leaving, it was determined that I needed some extra photos taken. It was well into their lunchtime, yet another one of the amazingly kind staff took the time to see that the photos were taken, so that I would not have to make a special trip back!
