Let me tell you about this place…read more I came here because I was having pain in one of my teeth and wanted a simple exam and a professional opinion. However, instead of focusing on the area where I was experiencing pain, the dentist spent most of the time examining my gums then informed me that I had periodontal disease. I found this surprising because no previous dentist has ever mentioned periodontal disease to me. She explained that it was in the early stages and that the sooner I treated it, the better. According to her, if I waited, it would only get worse and become much more expensive to treat later on. The entire conversation felt like an attempt to sell me additional procedures I originally came in because I was experiencing serious tooth pain and wanted to know whether I needed a root canal. They did tell me I needed one but never clearly explained which tooth required treatment.(concerning) Instead, they quickly started discussing scheduling procedures and suggested beginning treatment that same day and returning later in the week to finish. Then came the costs: approximately $1,500 or more for periodontal treatment and $1,689 for a root canal. It felt like numbers were being thrown around without much explanation. I also felt pressured to agree to treatment on the spot. I declined the periodontal treatment and told them I would think about the root canal. I never agreed to move forward with any procedure. Since I was paying out of pocket, I was being cautious. A few days later, I discovered a large charge had been placed on my CareCredit account. When I called the office, I was told, "We thought you wanted to do the root canal." That was absolutely not true. I immediately demanded the charge be canceled and informed them that charging for a procedure I never authorized could be considered fraudulent. They agreed to cancel it but continued trying to convince me to proceed with treatment. Based on my experience, I would strongly recommend getting a second opinion before agreeing to any major dental work at this office.

They offered complimentary amenities! Not basic stuff either First time I've ever had this level of service at a dentist, or any doctor. Erys was my hygienist. He was kind and explained everything to me. You can watch Netflix, Hulu, etc while waiting. You have your own dedicated TV. Dr. Villena saw me and put together a good plan for needed dental work. They have special technology to visualize bacteria attacking the teeth; the tech shows tooth health at each layer. Deering Dental is superior to a typical dental office. Very impressed. WARNING: BAIT AND SWITCH = illegal!!!…read more I used to come here all the time when I lived in Miami. The dental hygienist Ivelisse was amazing and the reason why I kept coming. However over time there were many problems. They broke off my upper permanent retainer and even they are orthodontist nobody was able to place it back, they ended up giving me Invisalign that was $500 for 4 refills. However I asked about a new refill it's now $1200. If they did not break my retainer I would not have to deal with this. I should not even be paying in the first place. Being back in Florida I wanted to come see the hygienist again. It had been 4 years so I called and specifically asked for what it would cost me before making an appointment. I got a call back and was told it would be $100 so I went ahead with the appointment. The day off they were great with timing. They first did an exam and told me about a cavity. I personally could not see it so I was already questioning that. Before the cleaning they brought me first to check out. I NOW FIND OUT IT IS NOT $100. It is $100 for their program and after that $95 for the cleaning. This is illegal and called bait and switch. I left and did not longer so the cleaning. After that I did not get one but TWO second opinions that both told me I have no cavities!!! So not only did they lure me in, but we're going to perform something of just under $2000 that was unnecessary. This place is bad news. I should have known with when they destroyed my permanent upper retainer and I'm now left with nothing.

When I first walked in no one spoke. I signed in. After 10 minutes I hear someone screaming, she said '' she can't do that, she has to be cancelled. Where is she, within seconds I hear my name. The staff member screamed my name from the lobby, so embarrassed. Another person was waiting in the lobby. With my visit I usually wait 15-25 min, sometimes longer when the doctor is behind but it's always worth the wait. Today was different. I went to the glass window and she said in a harsh tone, we have to cancel you, you came at 11:15 and your appt was 11. In reality I pulled in the parking lot at 11:10am but I sign in at 11:15am. She really didn't hear what I said to her, She only said I have to reschedule you in 3 months??? Wow I was very disappointed. I had already waited 6 months for an appointment. I also have two pain in two teeth. She could have ask me to step inside the door and speak with me, instead of screaming in front of everyone. She didn't even give me a courtesy call while I was driving & sitting in traffic to let me know she was going to cancel me. I took the day off from work for the appointment. Truly not happy with the service today. I'm a loyal patient and I always send referrals to the office for years. She did not apologize. The lobby only had one person waiting?

I have made several attempts to speak to Dr. Georgina since she doesn't have an office manager and she refuses to speak to me via phone or in person. Dr. Georgina does not take ownership of the mess her staff has caused. It's all smiles while it seems great until something like this happens. Do yourself a favor and go elsewhere.
