If he worked on his communication and interpersonal skills, I honestly think he could attract and retain more business. Anyway, I brought my car specifically to have the problem diagnosed, but he kept telling me that there could be a variety of factors causing the issue. YES, I KNOW! That's exactly why I brought my car to a professional in the first place--to figure out which factor is actually causing the problem. He then told me to take it to the Toyota dealership, where they would "charge me an arm and a leg." YES, I KNOW THAT TOO! That's precisely why I went to an independent shop instead of the dealership. I came here because I was willing to pay someone to properly diagnose and fix my car, but instead I felt like I was being discouraged from having the work done. At this point, it honestly seems like they don't want to take my money. His shop is called "Prius HYBRID Repair Shop," which is why I specifically took my Prius there--I assumed the name meant he specialized in diagnosing and repairing Priuses. However, based on my experience, I found the name somewhat misleading. When I brought my car in for a diagnosis, he repeatedly told me that the issue "could be many factors" without actually narrowing down or identifying the cause. I understand that diagnosing a vehicle can sometimes be complicated, but I expected a shop specifically named "Prius Hybrid Repair Shop" to have a strong level of expertise when it comes to Prius-related problems. Weird experience. I guess I won't be going here for any diagnosis or repairs.

For drop-off after work, i arrived a few minutes from closing time and Steve patiently walked me through the repairs and waited for me while I returned with the rental car loaner. When i mentioned to Avo that i had also new taillights to replace my original cracked ones, Avo told me to bring it in when i came to pick up. (This was not a part of the repairs they were doing) They finished my repairs within a few days as scheduled and my truck looked great. When i picked up my truck Avo installed my new taillights in just a few minutes for no charge. Overall great work by good people. I would definitely highly recommend Silverlake.

Will has the expertise and skill to diagnose and repair our 13-year old vehicles. Older vehicle requires more attention and expertise to repair and Will is the right mechanic to handle the job. We had a trip in July to Mammoth Lakes and I had asked Will to thoroughly check out the Mazda prior to the trip. I had performance issues with the Mazda and Will was able to assess that the alternator was bad, the spark plugs were worn and the rear brakes were just about gone. I just got back from the trip and I must say the vehicle accelerated up the mountain peaks so well that I began to wonder what in the world was the dealership service doing to my vehicle all those years? Recommendation: Don't keep calling Will about when your car will be ready or keep calling him to ask how much this or that will cost. Will is very busy working on cars. He will call you when your car is completely ready and he will itemize the repairs and explain all costs in detail. Will will save you money because he gets to the root of the problem and his labor rate is considerable cheaper than any dealership.
