I'm updating my previous 5-star review based on my lunch at Pineda yesterday. I'm lowering my assessment to FOUR stars because, while the quality of the food, service, and facilities are still top notch, the owners have continued to raise prices to the point where the value is questionable. One example (based on my menu photo in 2021): The zarandeado then was $190. It's now $445. That's a pretty significant jump. In addition to the increased prices they've dropped many items from their menu and in some cases reduced portions. My waiter told me that they removed the rice and bean side dishes from the "family platters" and the Mexicans, especially, were (!understatement alert!) "displeased." I can understand why: Prices up; selection and quantity down. The impact of this business decision shows. I've been there now a couple of times in Peak Snowbird Season and both times there's been no problem getting a table; it's just not nearly as crowded as it has been previously. Shame, really. I like this place; the food is great, the service is great, the cleanliness is great, the view is great. But coming in with smaller portions, reduced choices, and increased prices is really taking its toll on Pineda. PS: While the Tostada Mixta is one of the starters that's been stripped from the menu, my waiter was kind enough to persuade the kitchen to make one for me anyway (market price). read more

What an amazing place. The tables over look the bay so you can absorb all the boat/fishing activity. Service was outstanding! Best mojito ever. A friend and I each ordered the 1 kg fish but staff said they only had 1 left but they had a 2 kg fish we could share. We agreed. OMG!! It was huge and so incredibly tasty! Best grilled fish ever. We took a ton home and left a good portion for the staff to nibble on. Truly a wonderful find. Reasonably priced as well read more

Give a pass. Use to be very good food and drinks but menu has changed considerably. Had the grilled shrimp which came butterflied and were so small and difficult to eat as you had to deshell. It came with rice and the amount wasn't as big as my the palm of my hand. No substitutions. I ordered a classic lime margarita and the waiter kept asking if a certain brand Juan something was okay and I said it made no difference and 2 others in my group ordered same. When the bill came the margaritas were 180 pesos vs 145. The waiter did not disclose there would be a difference in price but when my friend wanted to substitute fries for rice he was quick to point out she would have to pay extra for fries. They greeted us nicely and service and ambience was good but food not so good for the fish and shrimp. It's sad things change for the worst. read more

Pinedas is a hidden gem in the Riviera Nayarit its in the perfect location with a beautiful view of the Guayabitos water. Great place for a date or a special night our and a deffenatly a must if your in the area and worth driving to if your not. I the owner attention to detail to improve on the place and food. The restaurant is family owned and a local landmark to the area. With that said I'll say that when you come here they give you appetizer of complimentary a couple sword fish taquitos, which I love. How nice. My favorites are the mango pineapple habanero ceviche, the coconut Philadelphia prawns and my most recent the tamarind prawns and all the frozen Margaritas. read more

We have come to this restaurant the last two years every time we are on vacation in the area. Once we did the drive from Vallarta. You always get good food and great drinks. My personal favorite is the customer service, we have gotten Ivan the last two times as a waiter. He is very attentive and just happy to be at work. The tostada Nayarita is a must try. read more

You must eat here. Food, location, and ambience was just right. All dishes looked good. Shrimp Ceviche was delicious and so was the pecado sandiado. Camarones momias where very good too. To finish the elote ice cream was beyond delicious. View was beautiful. Service was great. Everything was pretty clean including the restrooms. I'd def come back! read more

I came in to this place about a hour before they closed I'm glad I did my favorite place to eat in guayabitos. There was no wait time but there was alot of people in. Me n my girlfriend ordered some drinks and they were huge!! As far as taste they were average but I'd buy them again. They brought us out some sword fish tacos on the house they were great! We ordered some guacamole, it was good. And I ordered coconut shrimp also good. My girlfriend ordered philidephia style shrimp and we both loved it! For desert we had the fried bananas I definitely recommend those! The only negative I'd have to say is since it's a open beach front restaurant, there was flies near our table but the waitress suggested we move to a different table and I'm glad we did, we sat under a ceiling fan and bye bye flies! Overall I recommend this place! If you're in guayabitos check it out great views good food good drinks great deserts! read more

We have a house in Chacala about 20 minutes from Rincón de Guayabitos, we come from LA about every 3 months . We always come for one evening to Rincón to eat at La Pineda with no doubt the best restaurant north of Puerto Vallarta. The view of the bay is spectacular, come before sundown, the price is super reasonable, cheap by us standards, but the food..aguachiles, ceviche de camaron, tostadas de pulpo, and the zarandeado, all exceptional. Keep it simple and fresh, stay away from sauces and weird stuff, stick to the basics and you will have one of the best meals of your life read more
