If you are looking for a skilled doctor who recognizes that there is more to being a doctor than…read morejust running tests, prescribing pills and procedures and cutting KEEP LOOKING. This guy has ZERO compassion, ZERO communication skills and has not business treating anyone but patients that are under anesthesia. I took my mom to see him after her stroke. He was her cardiologist while she was in Morton Plant. He was the first doctor we could get in to see after her discharge. (her primary doc retired and we have another week before we can get in to establish with her new Primary Care doc). She's having so much anxiety about having another stroke, frustration because the anxiety causes extreme fatigue and she's short of breath. She can't eat, she's not doing her therapy exercises. His response? "Well your heart looks good. That's all probably from anxiety. You should see someone about that." Not one iota of compassion or understanding. Just another arrogant doctor with a God complex and a "how dare you question me" attitude. If you're looking for a doctor who will treat the PERSON, not the organ, this guy is NOT it.

I became a patient several years ago after having a heart attack and my original Dr. moving away…read more Dr. Kovach is arrogant and does not care about his patients. His office staff is worse. I called in early December after noticing I had extremely high blood pressure. His office staff said they could not get me in until January. I asked to be put on a waiting list but they said they had no way to do that! REALLY! I Wonder if they ever heard of a Pencil and a Pad? It's an amazing tool, you write down a name and number, and if someone cancels you find the paper and call the next name on the list! AMAZING! Then after waiting until early January, at 6:00pm the night before my 8:00 appointment they called to cancel the appointment and put me back in the queue. Thanks but NO Thanks! If I die as a result of this you can blame Dr. Kovach!

We were on vacation from Chicago. 1 week turned into 3 weeks. Wife suddenly has an 8mm kidneystone…read moreand sepsis. Surprise! Near death. Extreme pain. We're on vacation. We're not from here. Totally unexpected. And what? This place saved her life. ER doctors were great! Nurses, 100% amazing! Lance on the 4th floor called for ICU when he realized she was septic at 104F it. Then. Dr Lombard - Urologist. Saved her life - both of them. Then Donna - Charge nurse on floor 5 after everything was done. Her crew was top notch and #1. My wife spent 11 days in this hospital. Donna and her nursing staff were the best I have ever experienced at ANY hospital in my entire life. Kudos to these ladies who work their butts off behind the scenes. They even let my Dalmatian come into the hospital with me. And I had only 1 really terrible nurse on the 4th floor ( Julie - you know who you are - thank god you do not work for me - you'd be fired instantly - you almost killed my wife - thanks for not listening to her - made her sleep in puke with a 104 fever and septic - real good Julie. ) Lance came on shift after Julie and noticed she was 104F and called for ICU instantly and knew she was septic. This Julie nurse almost killed my wife - I hope you can sleep at night. Every single other doctor and nurse was thorough and helpful. Thank you to Lance on 4, Donna on 5, and ALL of the nurses on 5. My wife and I have sat and cried about how well she was treated at this place. We have reflected on how Julie almost killed her. And how Lance saved her life, and Dr Lombard as well. We cried about all the great experiences we had on the 5th floor with Donna and each of her nurses. Donna and her staff made this the absolute most wonderful hospital stay that I have ever experienced in my entire life. I want to express extreme gratitude to these people. Thank you! You saved her life! *Quick mention* Security staff at the front entrance - you guys were top-notch. I really enjoyed you guys, and thank you for everything! You guys were amazing and deserve a raise!!!!!

About two weeks ago my mom was admitted after a stroke and everyone from the ER triage nurses to the people delivering meal trays were just so nice, helpful and patient with my mother and kept our family up to date with things regarding her health. Since we spent a few long days at the hospital we were given a cart with tea, coffee, bottled water, soft drinks, fruit and snacks every day that were were there. That was completely unexpected and so appreciated. I especially appreciate the nurses in the Neuro ICU unit and the nurses in the third floor comfort care unit. Their compassion and was incredible especially since such an awful time in our lives. They have a DD downstairs in the lobby and a cafeteria where the food actually isn't bad at all. They even provide meals free of charge sent to the patient's room if you want.
