Imagine mixing a preschool teacher with a dentist, that's Shiny Chompers. They welcome new patients by name, and the reception is filled with TV, toys, tablets, and a large fish tank. Parking can be limited, but there is an elevator to take the stroller up to the second floor that the office is located on. They are incredibly thorough and make each session enjoyable and comfortable. They have tvs and sunglasses for kids to use during their dental appointments and always send kids home with a goody bag and token to use at one of the many vending machines filled with prizes in the lobby.

Because , of the difficulty ( she was terrified and it took 3 people to hold her to have this done ) the work wasn't done well. This was done to her two front teeth. Although she only had a cavity on one two both were filed , the affected tooth more . Within months the cap fell off.;(3 months) My daughter rarely smiles with her teeth showing since this happened. Before this she always had a big smile. I have taken her to two Dentist since and been told this was totally unnecessary work that was done to her. I know as a Mom this has impacted her self esteem. Dr. Doshi and her assistant are consummate professionals with excellent bedside manners to put a young child at ease. The practice is ultra-clean, and modern. We didn't have to wait at all, kept our masks on as required, and washed our hands after we were confirmed for our appointment. We were ushered to our dental suite and Dr. Doshi's assistant interviewed us about dental hygiene as we waited for Dr. Doshi to attend to our child. My experience here was really troubling. I was looking for a dental practice closer to home and…read moremade an appointment for a routine cleaning - I'm usually really good about going every 6 months but due to another medical condition I'd been dealing with I hadn't been able to make the time for a checkup in close to 2 years. I've never had any major challenges, always very straightforward visits with the occasional issues. I appreciated the office accommodating my availability. I completed my paperwork in advance, arrived early for my appt and checked in , only to have 4 people come in after me be seen first. I thought it was really odd that the front desk called my cell phone looking for me while I was in the small waiting room but wrote it off. I was finally taken back 25 mins after my appt time. I was told a full new set of x-rays was needed which made sense, but was then informed it was 28 different photos. This felt really high to me but didn't question it; aside from the x-rat exposure it was also quite painful to have to repeatedly bite down on the positioned for the photos. A few minutes in a piece of the equipment fell off the machine onto me; the hygienist reattached it without apologizing. Before the dentist came I was informed that I could purchase add-ons that insurance doesn't cover, like fluoride and numbing cream. The latter should have been my cue to get up and leave. I'd never heard of such a thing in taking myself and my children to the dentist for many years. I declined. The male dentist was personable but was very aggressive in his technique. I'd never seen / tasted so much blood during a routine cleaning, which he claimed was due to the long time in between cleanings and/or some weakening of gums from my medical condition. I've got a pretty high threshold for pain but it reached a point where I finally had to cry out for him to stop. He quickly started shouting out an extensive list of cavaties, stains, and other damage - including damage to all four wisdom teeth that could potentially be "monitored" instead of instantly removed. When the exam was over I was given an itemized list of fillings / treatments / follow ups and the estimated bill to match and asked to immediately sign it. Normally I'm used to concluding an appt with a bit more guidance, kindness, and even a new toothbrush. This was such a bizarre and painful experience and it felt like I was being pushed into work that I suspect I don't need. I won't be back and will go elsewhere for another look. I'm just thankful that I endured this and not one of my children. I deeply regret not having checked out other reviews before giving this practice a try.
