We've lived in the area for the past 24 years and this is the first time trying this place out. There are plenty of pizza places in the area. This place is cleaner than almost all of them. The menu offers a little more variety with Stromboli options as well as some of their entres and when we came on a Saturday, they also had some specials of the day. I was hoping for some soup, but they don't start serving that until October 1st. The service was great and the food came out in a decent time. The food was hot and delicious! There is a bar to sit at but also plenty of tables. Will be back to try some of their other options! read more

Worst fish n chips ever: by the time you take away crust on the fish there is little fish left. For 21$ it did not even come with Cole slaw or tartar sauce. The service was slow. The music so loud we could not have a conversation. They did not have the ingredients for a cuban sandwich so we had to choose another meal. For the food in the are a this is definitely one of the better restaurants however it's basically hidden so we lived in this area for 3 years and we didn't know that this restaurant was here until like 7 months ago- so they really need to do something about that! The boneless Buffalo wings are great and the meatballs are surprisingly good too. They also have great calzones (they call them something else) but the meatball one is great. My son got the fish and chips and he loved them- he really enjoyed it. I've also gotten the ravioli before which was pretty good! Overall it's hidden and in a weird area (we mostly get take out). Great Pizza Recently remodeled...the dining room is cozy and the seating is comfortable. We sat by the gas fireplace and enjoyed a martini (they KNOW how to serve one - sidecar was set into a larger glass with ice, so it didn't get watered down, just $7 for a delicious cosmo), and shared some calimari, which was cooked to perfection. The marinara sauce was dry good AND, for all the bread lovers out there....to die for fresh baked bread! Tip: We always get the crispy chicken and bacon pizza. Cute place , very homey comfortable atmosphere. We went early so there wasn't many patrons in the dining room. Our server was great- very attentive and efficient. I had a big salad with pulled chicken - it was chicken chunks but very tasty. My husband had steak sandwich which was very good. Saw an ad for this place and decided to adventure into the depths of Chepachet to try it. I have to say I was very impressed. It has a nice bar, and a very relaxed atmosphere that even has a fireplace in the corner. Now onto the food. The food was great! We got the Meatball sliders (order comes with 3 just an FYI) for an appetizer. The meatballs were homemade and very tasty. Then for dinner we split the Tomato and Basil pizza. When ordering stick with the small. We got a small and it was plenty for the 2 of us and had 2 slices for leftovers. the crust was soft yet had a crisp and the toppings were plentiful and very fresh. Due to the Coronavirus we were only able to get take out. My boyfriend had a sandwich and I had buffalo tenders. Prior to placing my order I called to ask if they made fresh tenders or if they are frozen. My boyfriend being a cook for over 15 years was able to tell right away when I opened my to go box that they were frozen breasts not even tenders with buffalo sauce on the top not even fully covered. Started coming here because of my Uncle Sammy. He was a regular at the bar and convinced me to come in and try the food. I was shocked at how good it was. I always assumed it was just a bar. It's a spacious venue with a nice bar and dining area and it also has a banquet hall. They have a good beer selection too. I always get the eggplant stromboli which is excellent - thinly sliced eggplant with cheese and the right amount of sauce. The crust has a garlic seasoning which is tasty. My only complaint is that they seemed to have switched out their delicious handcut fries with generic shoestring fries. I hope that was just a freak occurrence and not the new norm! read more

Best local eats. Casual atmosphere in calming earth tones. Great beer/wine selection, awesome burgers & pizza. I love the chicken piccata with risotto and spinach. A very nice, well kept secret in Chepachet. Had the calamari appetizer, nicely coated and fried just right. My wife had the chicken parm stromboli while I had the Wisconsin stromboli. Great mix of chicken, cheddar broccoli, and Applewood smoked bacon. Awesome! Portions are very generous, service was excellent. We were impressed with the owner stopping by the table to say hello and make sure we were happy. Be sure to try the onion rings, cooked just right. Only complaint is that my wife's fries were cold. Since their renovations, this place is awesome! The first thing you will notice, other than the wonderful ambiance, is how comfy the dining room seating is! No hard wooden chairs here! But you came for the food........and as usual, they do not fail to impress the tummy! The salad is crisp, cold and fresh! The calamari is to die for...love the marinara sauce they serve with it, and there are NO tentacles....hate those! The fish & chips is a very generous portion. And the bacon wrapped meatloaf is VERY tasty, served with roasted potatoes! YUM! The bar area is a bit noisy, but hey, its a bar area! You may enjoy your dinner in the dining room near the cozy gas woodstove, and one of my favorite parts of the experience is their cosmo....they know how to serve a martini with a full sidecar and it is not watered down with ice. Cold AC was what kept us from waiting in the car, server was nice gave us ice water in a pitcher. We were the only table on a Monday afternoon, small group at the bar, some blowhard you can hear throughout the building kind of provided insight on local bar prices. Decided to just get a pizza to go, prices looked steep for roadside pub on entrees and sandwiches. Tipped a few bucks for the local water, which isn't bad. Got the "Butcher Block", large for just under $20. Someone had better restock the butchery because it was a skimpy pizza for the money. One and done. Pinewood Pub has recently re-opened and been remodeled, and have expanded their menu beyond pizza to include burgers, fish and chips, pastas,and other specialties including dessert. The decor is brand-new and very nice. There is also a private room available and was told it was free to use if the group bough food and beverages. The only drawback is bad acoustics, and when happy hour in the bar became too happy, the noise was so distracting I couldn't hear my server. (The owners might consider a partition). If you want a burger that's been overcooked and looks like it's been stepped on , then by all means eat here. I have had 2 burgers from here. Both were horrible. My family also had food from here. That sucked too. Service was horrible. You shouldn't have to wait 45 minutes for mozzarella sticks that take approximately 5 minutes to deep fry. Did that big party of 8 screw all you people up in the kitchen. Incompetence is the word here. If you want lousy service and an even worse generic, tasting meal then eat here. Wow. What a nice surprise. Two friends and I met at the Pinewood Pub last night just to see what was new. The owner, Bill, is on premise and greeted us. The waitress was just as friendly. The interior is very tastefully decorated and the menu offers a good selection of appetizers, salads, pizza and entrees. We split an order of well prepared calamari and an enormous Caesar salad. Our meals, grilled sirloin, shrimp scampi, and chicken marsala were good enough to compete on "The Hill". We all took a package home. We were very satisfied and will be back again soon. read more

We hosted a first communion party here last weekend and can't say enough about this place. First of all they were very pleasant to deal with and very accommodating. They even called The night before to say the room was open if we wanted to come in and decorate early which we did. The inside is modern and extremely clean. Everyone at the party raved about how nice the place was, how friendly everyone was, how clean the place was, how good the food was and believe it or not how nice the bathrooms were! Everything was fantastic and can't say enough about this place from beginning to end. The staff was excellent, the inside is great and clean, The food was excellent and everyone had a great time. We ordered pick up for two chicken parms. We have allergies which we informed them of, and we asked for the pasta to be kept separate. When we picked up the order it was one chicken parm and the sauce was separate, not the pasta. I had dinner here last evening. I was pleasantly surprised to learn of this little hidden gem. Our table in the dining room was near a cozy wood stove and the space was bright and immaculate. I enjoyed a personal size pizza of robust basil, fresh cheeses and tomato. My companion decided on the bacon wrapped meatloaf and there was not a morsel left! We had a horrible experience today. We were a party of 7 and two of us got served 45 minutes in, then two more of us received our food an hour in and it was completely over cooked. The last of us never received our food because it was over cooked in the back of the house and needed to be re-cooked. So, an hour and a half in an 3 of us have not eaten, we decided to get it to go! The manager did come over to apologize and a more experienced waitress than our original; tried to repair the damage that was done. I go here every week or so. They have the BEST pizza and french fries. All of their food is really good though. There's a full bar that is usually pretty packed and there is a seating area that is usually pretty empty and quiet. I prefer the seating area. The only thing is sometimes the waitresses can take a while but the food and atmosphere is so great it doesn't bug me much. read more
