Came here on Saturday at 5:30 pm for a show that my granddaughter was in across the street that began at 7:30. Thought we had allowed plenty of time . As of 7:00 pm still waiting for food. Waitress was making a valiant effort but clearly the kitchen was totally unorganized. My smash burger was dry as a bone - inedible! My son and grandson both ordered steak tips - one was overcooked; the other virtually raw. Saturday opens at 4 pm, and it's just the right time to come in for some appetizers and drinks before it gets busy. Wait staff is friendly and the atmosphere is comfortable and warm. Lots of options for seating in high or low tops and booths. We started with Caesar salad, big serving and lots of dressing. We ordered nachos with shaved steak and it's enough for several people. Asian chili wings were crispy and served with sauce on the side for customizing your flavor. Zucchini is our favorite- fried and served with ranch. Of any place that deserves 0 stars is this place. I have never had such a negative dining experience, ever. Our party arrived about 5:30PM, was seated promptly and server brought over waters. Took some time to take our drink orders, but nothing too outrageous at the moment. It was a little while before she came back to take our orders, apologized for the wait and said a bunch of people just came. Restaurant was probably half full at the time. No problem, we get it. Not sure what was going on back of house but noticed food was taking a while to come out for everyone. After over an hour wait, I asked our server if we could just have our items boxed up as we had another event to get to. This is when she did a complete 180 and was absolutely the rudest, nastiest person I have ever dealt with. I've worked in food service and hospitality for many years and know its not easy and always try to be understanding as I know stuff happens. Food comes boxed as requested. While waiting for her to process our check we noticed the food was incorrect, took a few bites and was not very good. Over an hour wait, with atrocious service we ended up with this slop. At this point when she returns I asked to speak to the manager and she told me there was none.... Suggestion for the owners is you need more oversight here cause your FOH and BOH clearly have issues. Sad part was we were here last year and it was nice. We are not in the area often but knew we would be and was excited to be back. However ended up with this train wreck. Will also be watching our cards for fraudulent charges. Do not recommend - unreasonably long wait, poor service and terrible food. We came here to get a quick bite to eat before my daughter was in a show. We waited well over an hour for food. When we simply asked if our food could be wrapped up so we wouldn't be late for our daughter's show, our waitress was extremely rude and screamed at us. She then threw the food on the table and walked away without a word. When we got our food the orders were also incorrect. I do not think I have ever had such awful service in my entire life. Party of six had dinner around 7 on a cold Saturday evening. The restaurant was about 50 % occupied so we were seated right away. The interior was dark and nicely decorated with a cocktail theme. Our waitperson was friendly and attentive, we started with martinis, I had the hottini, others had a pistachio martini, jolly rancher martini and a pear martini. All were delicious. We all had French onion soup (1 bowl and 5 cups) the serving size was big and served hot. Dinner included fish and chips with coleslaw, Ahi tuna, and southwest blackened chicken salad. The fish was nicely cooked and flaky, the fries were a bit soggy but the coleslaw had a nice hint of horseradish. The salad an tuna were good and portions were enough to share. I had heard about this place from a colleague over a year ago, but never got here until we continuously saw it advertised on a local TV show highlighting local restaurants. We were very pleasantly surprised, and already said we'd go back. It was bought by the owners of another restaurant we enjoy, so expectations were high. Lucky for us, we were not disappointed! For a Saturday night, it wasn't crowded and even though it was later, we got right in. Our server, Sydney K, was awesome and knowledgeable. There was a large bar area and tables as well as booths. They also have a patio when the weather warrants. We started out with an appetizer, zucchini sticks, which were served with ranch dressing. They were delicious, and then we found out they were frozen! But they were so good, it was hard to tell. For dinner, I had chicken Parm - a real nice size cutlet that was really really good. My husband had Bourbon steak tips, which he thoroughly enjoyed. They had some specials, and an extensive martini menu. Having never been here before, it was hard to tell which door was the entrance ( it's on the side of the building on the patio to the left), and when we left, it was quite dark ( really could use some lighting). Food is hit or miss but typically atmosphere is fine and enjoyable but not today. Went for breakfast and they had a DJ playing. Music was excessively loud, especially for breakfast. The choice of music being played was also not enjoyable but I'm sure others liked it. My other complaint is there was a dog in the restaurant. For the life of me I don't understand the need to bring a dog to restaurants and why people think this is acceptable. And I don't want to hear it may have been a service animal as it was barking and to my knowledge service dogs do not randomly bark. In the future if this is what can be expected I will have breakfast and dinner elsewhere. read more

I am officially done with this restaurant. They have disappointed us multiple times, but we keep going back as we want it to be good as we live close and like to support local business. Our last visit was terrible. It was a Saturday night and there were only two other tables seated and a couple at the bar, so very slow. We ordered drinks, salads to start and entrees. We got our drinks but the salads took 40 minutes to arrive and when they did my husband's Caesar salad was all the white parts of the romaine lettuce, no green and no croutons. He didn't even eat it. Also after waiting 20 mins for the salad I told the waitress we did not want the salads if they were going to come out with the meal. She said there was only one cook on, but remember when we arrived only 2 tables were seated. A few more tables did come in but we were before them. And the salads did arrive with the meal she just kept the entrees in the kitchen until we had our salads for a few minutes. I know this because she brought our son's food with the salads and our food was not hot when it arrived. Also a friend of mine sat at another table and wanted a dry martini but they only had one type of vodka, Tito's. They are a martini bar so they should have multiple liquor options. It is such a great spot for a restaurant, overlooking the waterfall but they cannot get the food to come out in a reasonable amount of time and do not seem to care. I would rate this place a solid 3-5/5! When I found another restaurant nearby - I was ecstatic to try it because the dining options (especially for GOO food) Is extremely limited in the Glocester area, so when we saw filet minôn's on the menu we decided to give this place a try. The atmosphere and ambiance could be SOOOO nice especially with the view of the waterfall. There's no need for 2 parking lots- they should most definitely replace the front (or back lot- we couldn't tell which was which) with outdoor seating and tables as that would create a much better atmosphere/ambiance outside. Secondly when we ordered our food we were not informed of ANYTHING- when we ordered our filets's cooked medium and medium rare, we were told our options regarding sides & as well w were told our options she said they were included but when we looked at our bill- we noticed there were several surcharges for "risotto" which she basically told us was included ! I wasn't in any particular mood to argue so I just let it go whereas; any other customer would probably have been super upset THEY should let customers know BEFORE ORDERING that the risotto is indeed NOT INCLUDED & that we would be up charged!!' NOT only that our two extremely simple orders were completely messed up and we were the only two people dining in there (there was a few men sitting at the bar and when we walked in a few people we're finishing up their dinners. I asked for my filet with the bleu cheese crumbles and it came out plain. I also asked for rice thinking it would be mixed rice or a steak rice but it was the MOST BLAND WHITE STICKY RICE (like an Asian rice). It was so bland I had to smother it with salt and mixed it with corn and steak JUST to make it bearable. During this time- We were never given STEAK SAUCE or anything like that. Pros: STEAK WAS GOOD- but wasn't worth $30. Risotto was good! Ambiance could use an update/facelift! The drinks were really good (we both ordered sangrias)! Cons: Service was mediocre- could've told us about the upcharges and that the rice was plain white unseasoned and unflavored rice , it felt more like a locals bar then a restaurant, NO KENO- at a bar!!!! WHAT?! However this place definitely has some potential! Work out the kinks & I think It could be busy frequently!!! Not a good experience. It is owners also own another restaurant which we have gone too several times and found it to be nice. Thus we thought to try the Waterfall Cafe. Mistake.... First, we waited for a bit until a server asked us if anyone had been to our table. Not a big deal, but it got worse. Our entrees and salads both came out at the same time. Usually we would eat the salad first, but we didnt want the meals to get cold so onto the entree. My partner ordered fish. Her piece of fish was wicked small !!! Otherwise she said it was OK. I ordered bourbon steak tips, medium well. They came out moo-ing!! Very red inside. I ate them not wanting to send them back. Definitely not med-well. Then the check came. The prices on the menu are different than the check!!!!!!!! By a couple bucks each!!!! Then they charge you the card upcharge on top of it. We asked about the price difference from the menu, the waitress said she would talk to the manager later.!!!!!!! Its one thing to have ill prepared food, maybe an accident. Good Spot Very nice little place with a nice bar area and a pleasant atmosphere. Waitstaff is friendly and accommodating. Prices are very reasonable and food is good. On a recent visit, I had grilled chicken with pesto accompanied by jasmine rice and broccoli and my friend had a sesame crusted salmon salad. We both were very pleased with the meals. I was really hoping to be able to give a good report back to my foodie friends but unfortunately waterfall cafe was certainly a disappointment. I, being a stuffie fan ordered the Portuguese stuffies, they were the worst things I've ever eaten I have never not finished one and I didn't even finish my bite. The chicken although I found tasty, was very dry and nothing's worse than not being able to give it the one bite test. My husband ordered the bourbon steak tips he found the steak very under seasoned and the risotto just a ball of mush. I got the chicken Alfredo now one would think this would be hard to mess up, but alas the sauce was not smooth and creamy like an Alfredo should be it was thick and chunky and tasted reheated. My son got a mini pizza he had no complaints however; the whopper quesadilla we ordered was not given to us at first I had to drive back and when we did get it my son said it was soggy and just over all not impressive. Grant you the sogginess could have been from the container which is pretty unavoidable. I will say that the staff was most friendly and so accommodating and they are why I gave this any stars. Last night, Thursday, a friend and I decided to look for a new place to eat after a ranger walkabout in Centennial Park, Slatersville. Waterfall Cafe looked like a good spot even though we were not sure if they offered many gluten free options...we both must eat gf. Lovely location, inviting exterior, clean inside, odd choice of paintings decorating the walls but all things considered, pretty good first impression UNTI we were seated and discovered the noise level was LOUD. No music just very loud conversation, voices booming at us like surround sound. Egads! Our waitress was attentive and explained what could be gf...sadly, not many choices. The salads looked tempting but at $15.95 for a couple of choices, NOPE! We ordered from the Ladies Night drink specials: $3 mixed drinks. I had the Spiced Pears and my friend ordered the Cranberry Kiss. We ended up switching because I preferred the sweeter CK. Both were very good and WELL WORTH the price. I originally wanted the apricot glazed salmon with quinoa but the glaze was not gf. I did get the sopresso salmon. I would have liked thecquinoa for $1 EXTRA but they were OUT. Since quinoa was featured with another dish on the menu...well, sheesh. I opted for the mashed potatos. The dinner was over salted, both potatos and fish and the salmon tasted and smelled 'fishy' initially but I did eat my entire dinner and was not entirely disappointed. My friend ordered a petite sirloin, medium rare, with mashed and butternut squash. Her dish was also overly salted however her meat was perfectly cooked and satisfying. The butternut squash was totally delicious HOWEVER it was spiced with cloves and cinnamon and sweet! This would be an excellent side with chicken or Thanksgiving dinner, not meat or fish. I do feel the waitress should have pointed this out. Overall, a goid experience. I would return but ONLY for drinks on Ladies Night, with a side of desserty butternut squash. Screaming kids allowed to wail and screech while clueless parents sat by, rowdy adult guests a few tables over - probably well lubriacted with "spirits", and a general reverberation of clatter and background noice - all this made for a lousy, disappointing, an stressful dining experience. We were in the area and had lunch here on a Sunday afternoon. When I saw the sign said 'Martini Bar' I almost decided against it but it was quite a bit more casual than it sounded. I can't speak for the quality of the drinks but the martini list was sweet and uninspired. This hardly mattered since we were looking for someplace relaxed to have lunch. I really liked the menu, the choices were much more varied than a typical cafe menu. My husband raved about his burger and my kids enjoyed their meals - chicken tenders. I had a grilled mahi fish wrap with red pepper aioli. It was very good and the server was kind enough to substitute a salad for the fries. The service was very friendly but a little slow. My wife and I had a great meal here last Sunday 6/17/12. They started us off with delicious Italian bread and oil for dipping. I had an eggplant sandwich and she had a meatball sandwich. The meatballs are awesome. The sandwiches' came with a side of fries. The waitress was pleasant and friendly, service was fast and attentive. The place is filled with local art, something I really like to see. The price is very reasonable. They also have a long list of deserts that I was too full for. However I was tempted by the tiramisu. Went to Waterfall Café tonight for dinner, a place we go almost every Saturday Night for over 6 years. The menu had changed and they took off my go to low carb meal, Café Chicken Dinner, first strike! I ordered my second go to low carb meal, Ahi Tuna Dinner -Rare. I got the tuna and it was barely pink in the middle, clearly NOT rare, second strike I had already complained about the 1st go to meal not being on the menu so I ate my 2 sides, a salad and 2 table spoons of broccoli and about 1/3 of the tuna (it was too chalky to neat more). When the bartender, we were sitting at the bar as we always do, picked up our plates i said "clearly the tuna was over cooked as I showed her the uneaten tuna". I then said, I don't expect you to take it completely off the bill because I ate the salad and the veg and a little of the tuna. She came back with a new bill and had taken about 3.50 off as a credit of a 22.50 meal!!! Strike 3. After over 6 years of our go to restaurant we will not be going back again....so much for NEW OWNERS - guess they don't want to keep their regular customers. Good bye Waterfall!!!!! read more

We go here for Breakfast frequently. Try the homemade hash! You won't be disappointed. I've ordered homemade hash elsewhere and been served something that was definitely straight from a can. This is excellent! The waffles are good and the pancakes are good as well. My children like the pancakes. My husband orders the Eggs Benedict. We also get takeout for dinner quite often. I think the calamari is outstanding. Always tender, never tough. Not heavy or thick breading. I also like their steak tips. The sauce/marinade is great. If you are there for dinner in person, the Martinis are delicious. Try one of the sweet ones for dessert! It is a great neighborhood place. They showcase local artists on the walls. Loved it again! My wife and I used to frequent this place years ago, however the quality of the food declined and we stopped going. Several weeks ago we decided to stop by for a martini and were surprised to be told that there was a half priced appetizer deal with each martini so we ordered the Asian chili tenders and the calamari. Both we surprisingly good. We later heard through the grapevine that they have a new chef. I can't confirm that but I can confirm that the food has been so much better than it had been. We have returned for dinner 3 times since and each time has been a great experience. We have had the sirloin strip, apricot glazed salmon, beef tips and veal Parmesan and all have been exceptional.
