In my visit to Evergreen with my friend Maggie we decided that we needed a Japanese Whiskey to enjoy after our planned sushi lunch. My friend suggested Piney Wine and Spirits and I must say it did not disappoint. We were immediately greeted by owner Nathan and his cute dog Brisket! (I wish I took a pic of Brisket!). Piney Wine and Spirits is a moderately-sized shop with all the wine and spirits one could ask for. Wine, spirits, snacks - gifts. We picked up a bottle of The Matsui Mizunara Cask (Japanese Whiskey). Great whiskey and a very reasonable price! This place is soooo dope! Great selection and the dude at the counter was cool. Grabbed some bears and hit Sa Bella! Great one-two lunch! Get you a candle while there too. They have local made and get the Brisket Boi. It smells awesome and named after the store dog! BTW the beautiful Great Dane is a friendly giant welcoming in every customer. Best liquor store in Evergreen and Kittredge! They have a diverse selection of spirits, wines, beers, and even non-alcoholics. If they don't have something you want you just have to ask and they are happy to accommodate. They have frequent tastings for the town and are always striving to offer the best. I won't shop anywhere else. Not only do they have what I need but the place is clean, nice smelling, and setup thoughtful. On top of it all it's managed by wonderful people (and if you love dogs you might get to meet their mascot lol). I also appreciate that they indulge me when I linger a bit longer for a chat. 10/10. Friendly service, great selection of quality wine - the key word is quality. You will not find aisles and aisles to get lost in but what you will find is quality over quantity. I love wine shops like this. So much that I won't go to big commercial types of places. If you want a neighborhood low-key feel this is your place. The gentleman that helped me select a red wine took the time to understand my likes and dislikes and recommend a Spanish wine that is exactly what I was looking for. This is, hands down, the best wine store I've found near Evergreen (in Kittredge). The wine selection is thoughtfully curated and perfect wine for newbies and experienced folks looking to expand their palate- they really have it all. The owner is really nice and takes the time to find the perfect wine for his customers, without being pushy or sales-y. You can tell that he loves what he does!
