I have been shopping on El Paseo for over 30 years, and have never been treated so rudely as I was at Pink Club today. As soon as I came into the store, the one employee was very disrespectful and rude. It was 97° out and I had a water bottle in my hand. She abruptly took it out of my hand, and said she would put it away. Then I was looking at a sale rack that clearly indicated that you could not try clothes from the rack. She asked if she could put the dresses on the side that I pulled out. I said I know I can't try them on so I am just going to decide between one of the four of them. She took them out of my hand and indicated that she will put them on the side for me. I questioned her as I knew I couldn't try them on. She abruptly told me that I can no longer shop in the store!!! I questioned her why, and she simply said this is a private store and she has the right to kick me out. Then I realized I forgot my water bottle when I left. I went back into the store and after about two seconds, she yelled at me across from the store to get out! I have shopped at many of the high-end clothing stores along with the average clothing stores on El Paseo, and no one has ever treated me that badly! read more

The owner and staff are unbelievably rude. I will never support this business again. My mom and I walked in and were immediately hovered over like we were going to steal something. We picked up a desk sign and they wouldn't even let us carry it around the store--seriously? The clothes are SHEIN quality at best. My mom grabbed a medium skirt that was tiny, and I said QUIETLY a lot of their stuff was from China and she should size up. One of the women yelled across the store that it was made in LA, which was clearly a lie--there were no tags and the quality was awful for a $80 fringe skirt. From the moment we walked into their beautiful little quaint boutique, both PAM and Margaret treated us like we were already friends. We couldn't believe how beautiful all the merchandise was! It is definitely the boutique for high end buyers. We were treated so special and I could try on anything I wanted, they both were very helpful. My husband and I were there in late December, bought a beautiful, gorgeous, hot pink coat, we were so pleased about our purchase. We decided to go by something else for Valentine's Day. We were in the store today and were greeted by the lady that's in that photograph on the Yelp page for the Pink Club. We immediately saw a T-shirt that we liked and were told that we could not pick them up, but that they were on display in front. We went up front and took a picture of the saying on the T-shirt and was told we could not take a picture. Then we asked if she could try on that tshirt and she said they run small. I just stopped in this store for the first time after moving to the desert. My daughter and I were looking flip-flops and a blonde girl, assuming it's the owner, came over and asked what her size was. She started looking for flip-flops that were her size and offered us a couple but my daughter didn't like the color. I said we would be back to keep checking on sizes. She seemed to get irritated that I wouldn't purchase the selections she had made and continued to urge me to buy now. I told her again that I would continue to check back for something that we liked. Then we started to walk over to another section and she rudely said, "if you're not going to buy something you can leave because we close at five. My friend & I stopped into this store last week as we found that it had fun items. We are both over 65. The blond sales person was very nice but trying to oversell items that was not age appropriate for us!! My friend tried a medium dress that the sales person forced on her & said it fit perfectly - oh No it did not. Friend wanted a large & they only had a medium so she was trying to make a sale even though it did not fit. The prices there were way overpriced! She kept telling us you need to buy it as these items fly off the shelves! Found many of the same items in Palm Springs for 1/3 the price. Wow I'm shocked by the bad reviews. I've been in twice now and the owner was rude or crazy. Yes she immediately asked me to put my drink of the table but as someone who has spilled and enticed drink all over the floor of another el Paseo boutique just because I did not secure the lid accurately... I can understand why. I don't remember any "no pictures" signs, but I can understand why. Customers take pictures and send to a friend.. the friend laughs at the picture. And now no need to purchase the quirky accessories. Business is tough on El Paseo! I work at a shop down the street but my store is corporate. Items are damaged allllll the time. But that's not coming out of someone's pocket that maybe at 15 at most walk in ALL day. Finally I went in today on my lunch break with intent to find a dress to wear out for my birthday tomorrow. The owner suggested a few items and some were far from the cut that I'm used too but I figured I'd try anyways. What I loved is she did not oversell me...suggest 20 items... or comment "that's cute every 5 seconds" she did not act desperate to make a sale(so refreshing!!) and it was a slow day! She didn't insist I come out of fitting room or bug me about the items I passed on. She let me do my thing. I was suprised that I liked everything she showed me but one stood out. A friend and I walked around this store and were offered help multiple times, owner showed us many items and then as we moved to the back of the store we say something funny and went to take a photo. The owner came up to us and said oh "no photos." We politely said okay and put our phones away. We were then followed and hear the owner say watch those two and I'll watch them (talking about another group.) I then heard her say "watch the blonde" Your tacky knock off overpriced merch is not that interesting....something just had a funny saying. I was in this store about 2 weeks ago. I walked in and owner was talking to someone else and ignored me. So I took 3 items into the dressing room to try on, Owner came over to me and yelled at me " You didn't get my permission to go in there" Go in the other one she said. So I did and as I tried on she took the other two items away. I asked if she wanted to sell the items (totaling about $300) she said "i'm expecting someone, get out of my store". I said no one is here now, and she told me to get out. As I walked out I told her I have never in my life experienced such abuse in a store. She told me "you and your kind get out of here". Obviously she made racial slurs to me, and was abusive. I thought if she had a gun she would shoot me. I was so shaken by her for hours, I couldn't believe it. How do people like this stay in business for years? I started to read all the reviews of this store after I left. If I lived in the area I would have pressed police charges and picketed this business. People like her should be punished. It's a privilege to have a business for the public and make money. I wish I could give a zero! I purchased a denim jacket here, which was a rock band jacket. I thought it was pricey but it looked really good, it was "custom", and I was on vacation so I paid the price. Got it home and the price tag on the jacket was almost $300 less! I tried calling the shop phone number and contacting them through their website "contact us". I have heard nothing. I have to agree with most of the reviews that this shop is a rip-off. They don't care anything about customer satisfaction. I guess they figure tourist are just rolling through so they don't need to rely on return business. In addition to that, the salesperson was pushy and tried to get me to buy pants to go with my jean jacket that were nowhere near my style. When that failed, she tried to sell me shopping bags, blouses that were not my style (and, clearly, as a heavy set woman, would never look good on me). This shop is all about the bottom line. I'm a major donor to the Living Desert Zoo and came in to look for something to wear to the Zoobilee Gala that weekend. Never encountered such rude service in my life. My daughter and I stopped in looking for specific types of garments.. upon entering we saw a dress that looked cute and I encouraged my daughter to try it on. meanwhile I took to the rest of the racks, quickly taking note of items but wasn't until I arrived at the back "sale" rack that I saw another item that seemed to fit the need. I was quickly told that the item was only $20 and that it was a final sale and that it could not be tried on. I was then told that it was so cheap that if it didn't work, I could just give it away, that someone else would like it! I was quick to reply that I didn't shop or think like that and how could someone be so flippant about how others should view money and or its value. I then took the 2 piece set off the rack and started to examine the shorts as they appeared to run small and maybe would fit my daughter, who was now in the fitting room trying on a $200 dress. at this point I removed the shorts from the clip part of the hanger and thought id just hold them up to her body for better judgement, and that they may be perfect. at this moment, the woman with long white hair, whom I believe to be the owner, comes around the corner and tells me "you can't try those on" and I said "im not, im just looking at the fit and size and am going to hold them up to my daughter".. she then told me that, that in fact was "trying them on".. I was shocked, even the other woman working there, who was lovely by the way came to my defense confirming that I was just holding them up. I was in disbelief. I was told at this point that my daughter (who was still in the fitting room) and myself must depart immediately! I worked in the garment industry for 20 years.. this store is cute with some funny items but by no means doing anything inventive! to treat people as they do is ridiculous - if they were smart, they'd encourage people to take photos and post as this would only bring more business. instead they are judgmental and down right rude! She has long blonde hair and is so rude it took my family by surprise. I was shopping with my young daughter and we had inquired into a sales item. She said cash only and you can't try on. That is fine and we went to go get cash. When we came back the other sales person said we could just buy the one top for $10 and didn't have to get two items for $20. Well the blond manager freaked out and said can't you read the sign are you stupid!! She then proceeded to tell us to leave the store. When we tried to ask why she was treating us that way she said she was calling the police! My daughter said why is she being like his. She kept screaming at us to leave and was calling the police. I said for a what? For asking to buy one top instead of two???? I really hope one day she will learn you can't have a business and treat customers like this. Came in because the shop looked so cute from the outside. There were more 'don't take photos/touch No food/drink signs then merchandise. We weren't greeted even though we were the only customers in the shop along with 2 staff members. Who we think was the manager was scolding the other staff member for not taking her break early enough and then proceeded to trash talk past customers.
