Loved it. Great service and food. We came back for take out the next night even. Delish and the ambiance was very nice. They had a band outside and we sat inside. Was fabulous.

What a fun spot but what's going on here? It's part cool 50s diner car, part swamp house patio fish camp bar, and part mini golf. Lots going on here. Five (5) star hospitality, first and foremost. Everyone's super friendly helpful and nice; and our waitress was Awesome. So the food, not so good. My burger was okay for an obviously frozen patty but the bun was on its way out, bacon was rubbery, and someone forgot the pickles. The tempeh Reuben was also sloppy and mostly sauerkraut and dressing. Bleh. Meh. And the Hot Flowers, they're basically cauliflower bites, were mostly small crunchy bits of batter in a mild sauce. While the onion rings were excellent, they're only sold by the basket and not as a side as are the fries which is a bit of an unnecessary extra money grab at $8 a pop given the burgers are sold à la cart. Food was a solid two rounded up by excellent hospitality and fun factor.

Dinner here. Meat loaf with potatoes gravy. Added a side of broccoli. Happy ending with carrot cake. Very pleasant young server. Enjoyable meal.

What a cute place to visit in High Springs and they even have putt putt golf. They have an extensive vegan menu as well as all the regular delicious comfort foods. My vegan friends ordered the hippie hash and the chili and they loved it. We ordered a Classic Burger with fries and a turkey reuben with homemade chips. Both were great and came out quite promptly. Our server, Sheryl was great and attentive. Will definitely eat here again when in the area.

It was time for a ride, and what better way to break up that ride than to get some lunch at a diner in the area. Riding through High Springs, it turned out to be time for the Pioneer Days festival that they hold every year. However, the main goal was lunch... The Pink Flamingo Diner has changed over the years. There is now a mini-golf outfit behind the diner, and the patio areas have been improved significantly. For it being a Sunday afternoon, I was surprised that there were no bikes in the lot. There is covered parking for a half dozen bikes, so they do expect them, but it looks like they have changed the place in such a way as to be more family friendly. No problem for me, I prefer it this way. I managed to snag a table out on the patio, as the weather is still relatively mild for Florida. Another month and it is going to be too hot out there for me. Wait staff came by and took my order, and shortly my order came out. For an appetizer I decided to try out the cheeseburger eggrolls, and for my main the seafood platter with fries and corn. The cheeseburger egg rolls were a bit of a disappointment for me, but part of that is on me. I am not a fan of yellow mustard on things, and these came covered in it. Unfortunately there is no real description on the menu of exactly how these things are constructed and what they come with, so I wasn't aware of the mustard in the first place. Just a simple description on the menu would have fixed this problem, and I could have ordered it without mustard. The seafood platter was good... butterfly shrimp and fried fish, and the fish was nice and flaky. Nice dish. The fries were decent as well. The corn? Oh dear... I didn't know you could mess up whole kernel corn placed in a ramekin, but they managed to do it. Corn straight out of a can, uncooked, tastes better than what this was like. I couldn't tell if they had simply overcooked the corn into next week or if it had just been sitting in a container on the warming rack for the last three days, but something was just not right with this corn. My final thoughts on this... go for the fish, don't bother with the corn.

A cute spot that is perfect for families with kids! The Pink Flamingo is a retro dinner with A LOT of curb appeal! There's beautiful murals outside and so many cute spots to take pictures. The inside looks like an old fashioned dining car, and outside they have an attached patio with a bar, propane fire pits, stage, and giant blocks and games for kids to play with. We loved being able to eat while our kids played within eyesight. The menu is very diverse with a range of apps, sandwiches, burgers, and entrees to suit every taste. They also only cook with non-GMO sunflower/olive/avocado/coconut oils! It's easy to see on the menu what items are vegetarian, vegan, and gluten free. They also have a nice kids menu with all of the staples. I've only been here a few times now, and the food has been decent. I wouldn't come here just for the food, it's the entire experience that rounds it out. The pricing is pretty high for what you get, but after a long day at the springs or camping with friends, it's a nice place to go out. The first time I went I had the Santa Fe burger with a side of blue cheese fries and it was good. My husband also had a plain cheeseburger but didn't like it that much, and he ordered a milkshake that was also lackluster. Second time around he got the chicken parmesan and I had the stack (tuna app) and the blue cheese chips app. His food was just average, good not bad but not great. The stack would've been better if the avocado was ripe and the tomato wasn't watery. The blue cheese chips are good but $12? It was a better deal adding them to my burger. We ordered our son the kids hot dog and he ate some but he was honestly having too much fun to eat. I would definitely come back again, but I hope I find something on the menu that I really love to make it the full package!

Ok ... First time here. Food was very good, Service was awesome from Beth! Definitely better than the 3.5 star rating that it had at the time of this writing. We had the Turkey Reuben, It was awesome! We had the Nachos, they were good! the Guacamole that came with the Nachos was awesome! We had the wings, they were very good! We had the Flamingo Chicken Salad, Hmmm, thought it would be better carrying the name sake of the restaurant. (this dish will definitely need reworked) Chocolate layered cake was rich, chocolatey and Fantastic! Not quit 5 stars, however because I think they've been short change I'm giving them 5 stars. Keep up the great work Beth!

This was my first time back since new owners took it iver. Peices have gone up a bit, but foid was still good. They have a pet-friendly patio and vegan and vegetarian options. They also have a section to play mini-golf, which is nice as well so you get food and entertainment. I got the Hippie Hash and it was amazing! Wish they still did breakfast

I went here for a late lunch/ early dinner with a friend and overall it was an okay experience. The food was good but nothing exciting. They do have a lot of vegetarian and vegan options which is great. For a starter, we had the fried cauliflower, and for entrees, I had the flamingo favorite salad and my friend had the Asian Salmon salad. I would say the winner was the dessert, I had chocolate cake and it was delicious! So decadent and moist. The service was good and the price was decent. The atmosphere was nice, they have indoor and outdoor seating. We opted for outdoor seating which was pretty nice.

The counter service...there are roomy booths too!

This little place is a must see. Do try their food as it is superb! This one hits all the right places on the diner experience! It is perfect. Many vegan options that are not plastic food, too. The wait staff are hilarious fun so don't fail to interact with them. I had the rubber sandwich and it was spectacular!

I was pleasantly surprised with a very good lunch. I ordered the "mother of all burgers". It was very good. I asked for it cooked medium and it was perfect. It came with a side of fries and fried pickles. They were also very good. I ordered an appetizer of french fries poutine. This was also very good. My party of three had to wait for 25 minutes upon arriving. We arrived late lunch on a Saturday. Since new ownership, the Diner is a very popular spot now. The parking lot around the restaurant is frequently full. Overflow parking is at the old hotel next door. I drive by the diner frequently and it can be very busy on weekends. The restaurant is clean and kept inside. The mens room needed attention upon my visit. The remodeled restrooms are much better than the old ones. In past years the diner suffered from quality and cleanliness issues. I'm hoping that it can keep up the good work they did on this visit. Thanks for checking out my review. Cheers!

Ask the Community - Pink Flamingo

    Are they dog friendly?

Not inside the restaurant, but there is a large covered seating area outdoors where your dog will be welcome. If you behave, you can sit there too.

    Is it wheelchair accessible?

Yes. There are no steps and the outdoor area leads right onto the parking lot. I believe the doors are wide enough for a wheelchair to pass through if you wish to eat inside, but there are booths rather than tables. The outside area has tables.

I went for the Texas burger, asking for it to be cooked medium. What I got was more rare, bordering on blue. Not a good start. The fries that came with it were predictably SysCo style fries. We were afraid with the live music that it might be up to an hour wait (we were told). In point of fact, we got seated maybe five minutes after we arrived. We had expected stuffed mushroom caps of some sort; but what it actually is is chopped mushrooms and vegetables in a dressing (brown butter sage and balsamic reduction) served with thick dark bread as a platform. Pretty good. I also had a bit of the Spinach Artichoke dip (good) and the Gator Bites (which have quite a bit of fried onion mixed in with the gator) (quite good.) For an entree, I had the Duke's Macaroni with Blackened Chicken (which they mixed in.) Quite delicious, but it did leave quite a lot of oil (over a tablespoon) in the plate. It was a very large portion. We had dessert plans elsewhere, so skipped their rather large dessert options. Our server was outstanding, friendly, taking care of everything. Except for the very long wait between ordering and getting our first appetizers and soups. (Not such a wait before the entrees came.) 20% gratuity added for parties of eight or more.

1906 Farmhouse 25405 W Newberry Rd, Newberry, FL 32669…read more ***SWILL ALERT*** Pulling up to the hitchin' post at the 1906 Farmhouse, all seemed well and fine. I don't mind themed restaurants (they can be fun). This place was designed to model the Farmhouse where the ranch hands gathered for meals before and after a long day of riding. I dug it. It gave off a warm, welcoming, one-of-the-family vibe. Kasey was my server for the meal and she was frowning before I asked one question. I placed an order for one Country Fried Steak with sides of Collard Greens and Mac & Cheese, along with some Strawberry Shortcake to round out the meal. I soon saw Cantankerous Kasey begrudgingly returning with my victuals. I don't understand this attitude. Am I supposed to be grateful she deigned to work here? Anyway, if any of you are curious like me, you may have often wondered what it was like to spend a day in jail. To that end, I admit, I got myself hauled off to the County Hoosegow. Wanting to make the most out of my tax dollars, I booked my stay to include lunch. The dry bologna sandwich you receive, along with the juice bag to wash it down, is something you try to forget. As I looked at the slop my trustee, Kasey, placed before me, I began to long for the county jail government issue bologna. The Country Fried Steak was fresh from the freezer and cooked with the precision of Stevie Wonder passing his behind-the-wheel driving test. I've been hit with hockey pucks softer than this garbage. The gravy was made in the Sysco factory and this had to be their bottom-grade slush. It was as tasty as flour and water. Wait. The sides were a step down from the entree, if that is possible. Just look at the pictures and tell me, does anything look appetizing? While I am not one to ever judge a book by its cover, as looks can be deceiving. In this case, they are not, and the adage 'a picture speaks a thousand words' is spot on. The Collard Greens were obviously from an industrial can. Hey, don't get me wrong, all restaurants use a food service, but you don't have to be cheap about it and try to finagle the dining population by using the lowest quality they have to offer. The Mac & Cheese looked more like something a dog regurgitated than actual food. It was dry and pasty on the palate--just the way it is not supposed to be. The Strawberry Shortcake is also food service, not unlike the stuff you got in high school, only worse. Kudos, 1906 Farmhouse, you officially serve Swill sans the fly. At least on this visit. The Big Boy says, "I wouldn't serve this SWILL to a dead dog."
