This weekend I got to visit pink flamingo on state street. This has been long anticipated as I'd seen many videos on social media of Madison locals visiting. When you walk in you're welcomed with a bright pink interior and cute decorations. I was a bit disappointed by the service, they were not very friendly and although we were seated immediately, it took about 15 minutes to be greeted at our table. This was redeemed by the appetizer we ordered, FAVS which is sautéed shrimp in garlic butter. This was the best part of the meal, the shrimp was perfect. We also ordered an iced mocha and a coffee which were decent but nothing special. The entree we ordered was the chilaquiles with birria and scrambled eggs, which were unfortunately another let down. The chips and salsa were cold and the meat was room temperature. The only warm thing was the eggs, it seemed like maybe they realized they forgot to make the eggs scrambled and left everything else sitting while they remade the eggs. For a total of $31 we got fed and cute decorations, but I can't give pink flamingo anything higher than a 3/5 and I will not be visiting again. read more

Went here for Mothers Day brunch. Cute Florida/flamingo theme throughout. It is on the second floor with stairs to get there. Breakfast and coffee was yummy. Staff was attentive despite it being busy. This is mostly a breakfast place so Sunday brunch was perfect. read more

I understand that this restaurant is still very new and clearly needs to work out a lot of kinks. They were short staffed and couldn't handle the crowd, which was unfortunate. We were comped some money off our bill though to help make up for the long wait. And they were very apologetic too. The café latte with oat milk was delicious, and just the right amount for a regular/medium size. I was thrilled that they had multiple vegan food options, including a tasty vegetable frittata with vegan eggs. The entree came with a side of toast, and a side of hashbrowns. I didn't love the hashbrowns because they weren't as cooked as I like them, so I'd recommend ordering them crispy next time. The interior/ambience is absolutely adorable. I love the color combinations, decorations, and attention to fine detail that the owner took in making this place look so cute. read more

I stopped by on a Sunday afternoon for brunch and loved the vibe--beautiful, modern space with no long wait. Fresh oysters in Madison are hard to come by, so I had to order four, and they did not disappoint. I also tried the mimosa flight, but unfortunately, the flavors weren't great and weren't labeled. If I had to guess, they were banana, orange, watermelon, and strawberry--and honestly, I didn't love any of them. For the main course, I went with the steak and eggs and added French toast. The meal was fantastic--the steak was perfectly cooked, and the French toast was a sweet, satisfying addition. The only thing I would add is some steak sauce to take it over the top. Overall, it was a great brunch spot and I'd definitely go back, oysters and all! read more

Hard to find but easy to love! Stopped in with my son while visiting him at UW Madison for breakfast. They went all in on the themed decorations down to the plates and cups. I had the Pink Pony pancakes and my son had the flying pig eggs Benedict. Both were delicious and presentation was top notch. The menu is overflowing with some really amazing sounding dishes. Also tried the Goat Milk Caramel Latte which was excellent. Coffees seemed on the much less sweet side which is my preference. This is a gem if you find yourself in downtown Madison looking for breakfast. read more

Everything about this place was a mess on Mothers Day. We made a reservation months in advance for 4 at 10:45 and were really looking forward to eating here. We arrive 15 min early and they said they could not seat us then and to come back at our reservation time. Ok no problem. We come back at our reservation time and check back in and they say out table is not ready. We continue to wait another 30 minutes and they still said they didn't have a table ready with no idea how when our table would open up. The hall and stairway was crowded. No tables seemed to have food and everyone just waiting. We decided to leave and cancel the reservation. I don't recommend this place. read more

Unlocked a new brunch spot! We went at about 9:30am, so there were lots of seats open. I ordered the strawberry matcha latte, and I was pleasantly surprised by how good it was! Not too sweet, but not grassy. The shroom omelette was my breakfast choice, and it hit the spot! It was enough for two meals for me. The service is a little slow, but they are new so it's probably just them getting used to everything. I loved the pink and green atmosphere! read more

We put our name on the wait list for a table for 3 at 10:30am on a Sunday. They told us 45 mins. We decided to wait. 80 mins later, we finally got a table. 15 mins later we saw our waitress. 15 mins later we received regular coffee. Ultimately, we ordered the burrito, pink plate, and flamingo bowl. No special elements to the order. We finally got our food about an hour after ordering. The food was mediocre and the cute pink decor didn't make up for the lackluster service, ridiculous wait times, or derivative food. Will not be back. read more

This place is fantastic and deserves more customers. First, the space is so nice! Both physically, it's upper level and something about it feels sunny and warm. I also like the flamingo theme. Second, great prices. Third, the menu is great and versatile. It advertised itself as a brunch place, but there are lots of options that just as good for lunch, including bowls. You could definitely go here instead of sweet green and forage And the actual food is great too. A few different spots of tried to make this space work. This time they have nailed it and I hope pink flamingo is a mainstay for years to come! read more

My wife, son and I had brunch. Service was prompt. Food came out as expected. I ordered the Heuvous Diablo, which was very tasty. It came with homemade tortillas,which was an expected surprise. My wife and son enjoyed their meals as well. Would definitely return. read more

I loved the restaurant that had previously occupied the space now known as the Pink Flamingo Brunch Cafe, so last weekend, when my husband and I were in town and noticed it was now open under that colorful new name, we had to stop in for brunch. The cafe arrangement and furniture were the same as I remembered, but the decor included just the right amount of pink and green (and flamingoes) to give it a more tropical vibe. It was getting close to closing time and the dining area was busy, so the host, who doubled as our server, warned we could be waiting up to an hour for our food due to the current number of customers and limited kitchen space and cooking staff. We weren't in a rush so we decided to wait it out and are so glad we did! The menu included everything from pancakes and French toast to egg dishes, bowls (I had the Squash Bowl with scrambled eggs), soups and salads, tacos, sandwiches, and more. I only ended up with a picture of the front of the menu, but there were just as many delicious options on the back, and my husband chose one of the sandwiches there. I don't remember its name, only that he ate every delicious bite except for the one he shared with me. My bowl was the perfect size and option for a filling but not over-filling savory meal. Our host/server was friendly, attentive and apologetic for the wait, even though we didn't wait nearly as long as expected and felt well taken care of the entire time. As the cafe emptied and she began cleaning up while working around us so we could finish, we were able to have a conversation with her about her schooling and her work. She clearly loved being there and couldn't speak more highly of her experience as an employee. We learned from her that the owner was also the cook and got the chance to thank him for our excellent meal and wonderful service. If you find yourself in downtown Madison and don't mind the potential wait for a fantastic meal, I highly recommend Pink Flamingo Brunch Cafe. Or, if you're a better planner than we are, make a reservation and avoid the line. Either way, you won't regret the visit! read more

we waited 45 minutes on a list until we eventually went in and asked about our spot and they had a spot open already (even though we were still 9th on the list after 45 minutes. once seated, we waiting 30 minutes and still hadn't had a waitress come to our table. we ordered our water, coffee, and food after we went and asked the person at the register... another 30 minutes later it was clear no one was serving us... good food and great coffee but honestly, if you want a stress free morning, i wouldn't recommend this place. also, two families left eventually too because they also weren't being served. read more

I was here on Sunday for a little brunch and everything was perfect. Everybody taking care of us was attentive and kind. The ambiance was so cute, and the food was top-notch! I'd highly recommend the chorizo avocado tortilla. My husband is vegetarian he got sweet potato & spinach empanadas that were so tasty. Freshly squeeze OJ too. I see people complaining about wait and service but we can and should be empathetic toward a new restaurant like this. They're doing what nobody else is on State. Anybody complaining hasn't been in the service industry before (coming from a former waitress). Lovely spot overall lots of luck! read more
