I've been going to the gym for years. Heard plenty of complaints about the owner but never had any…read moreissues. The other day however changed things and I cant give this guy my business anymore. First impressions last a really long time with me. This new guy came into the gym and I literally watched the owner follow him around the gym and tell him over and over again that the gym closes at 7. He also was standing in his way making for awkward moments of him having to say "excuse me" while looking at him all confused wondering why the owner and his dog is in his face. He handled it well until it was time to leave. Then the owner decided to talk to him like he was stupid because he didnt know where the exit was since the owner had told him he couldnt use the one he did know about. Thats when the new guy got pissed. Asked him what he did for him to treat him so badly. Of course, the owner had no reason to treat him like that so the owner started lying about what he said. Then the guy asked him if he had some stress he needed to work out and if he wanted to roll with him to take out his anger. Of course the owner refused and told him to go to planet fagness. After witnessing such an unprofesssional demeanor from the owner I cant give him my business. No one should. There are plenty of much better gyms in the area and you dont have to worry about the owner following you around and harrassing you.

Not just that, but when we joined, we were promised personal training sessions at no cost. That lasted one visit. Long enough for our withdrawal to clear. We were also told at sign-up that we could bring along our teen daughter and that she would be added to the contract. Last few times we tried to go (with her), they acted like we were breaking the rules. Made it uncomfortable to be there. There's more, but I think you get the picture. Stay away unless you like hemorrhaging money for nothing in return.

About Burns Barbell, My favorite part about this gym is that it's an 24 hour gym that you can access anytime with the swipe of your hand, not to mention also having a speaker you can connect to in the gym. With that the gym is very nice with modern, well working equipment and he is constantly buying new equipment to improve his gym. Massage bed turned off after 3 min and I just walked out. Work in the day and evening and signed up a year ago for a 24 hr gym. Started popping after work recently and they have been closed. I finally walked up to the door and saw extremely shrunken hours that serve me zero purpose. No notification. Really shows the scammy nature of planet fitness we all know, where most people pay and don't show up. but to shrink hours as soon as you get an influx of people signing up in January with know notification is wild.

This gym charged me for a family membership for an entire month after I cancelled the membership and they claim it's their policy to do so. I think this policy should be illegal as it charges a patron for a service they will not have. I think once you cancel the family membership and reduce it to an individual membership then when you go to pay for the next month like I did you dont get charged for a family membership you just cancelled. You should only be charged for an individual membership. This is common sense. The reason I cancelled the Family Membership is because I couldnt even bring my child into the gym. My son does wrestling and has since he was 6. He's 7 now and it's what he likes to do. We were kicked out of the gym and I had been paying for this non-useable family membership when THEY SHOULD HAVE TOLD ME WHEN I SIGNED UP!!! This gym is not child friendly and it doesn't have good hours for watching kids. If there was another option in the area that was as roomy as this gym we would have a membership there instead. Unfortunately, in the are though there are good gyms they dont offer as much room as this one so I am stuck.
