The nail techs consulted with me and explained to me the multitude of options. -Acrylic is the hardest and best if you work your hands -GelX is for when you add extensions to natural nails -Builder Gel is harder than gel and is for natural nails. -Gel a little harder than normal polish and also for natural nails The first time I went I got gel with Cateye. So cute. The set could have lasted me another week or two as there was no lifting. But, my nail cracked from the side. So I went a second time. This time I got builder gel. I could feel the difference in hardness. I have found that all the techs at NailEnvy are very meticulous and detailed with their work. The massages they give with their services is the perfect strength to relax your muscles. The designs they create on your nails are commensurate with the price you pay. Because they are creative and detailed, the designs are unique and awesome. They are so legit! The cost is comparable to other salons, not overpriced and competitive. As for cleanliness, their utensils and nail stations are clean. Making an appointment is super easy as they have a website where you can schedule at your convenience. If you want a specific nail tech, you need to call and make an appointment over the phone. But all of them are exceptional. The major distinction of this nail salon is the techs themselves. She then brought steaming hot water, literally steaming, along with acetone to remove the old gel off. I wasn't paying attention and just put my hands in the bowl and nearly jumped out of my seat. I asked her politely if she could make the water less hot and instead of agreeing, she said "since you have a problem, you can tell her.". Before I could respond, she yelled for the manager/receptionist, who came over immediately and inquired on the issue. I was shocked. No, I didn't want to burn my hands, but I wasn't planning to make it a big deal either. The manager was sweet and explained that the technician was attempting to remove the gel. I told her I was aware, but just simply wanted to water to be less hot. The manager explained this to the tech and she added cold water. See how easy that way? My appointment continued to go from bad to worse. Instead of asking me to turn my hand a certain way, or to lean in, for example, she would yank and pull my hands and arms rudely. I even asked her, "are you having a good day?", and of course, she ignored me. She was rough with the drills, and repeatedly kept nicking, cutting my cuticles and the skin around my finger nails. I even yelled out a bit on one occurrence because 1) it shocked the heck out of me, and 2) it freaking hurt. The other nail tech even looked over, as I think it scared her as well. At that point I said to her, "you need to stop being so rough with me. I'm serious". At that point, it stopped. The end result: My nails were okay. As I was paying, the same manager who was at the front desk asked about my experience and I was honest with her. She seemed embarrassed and thanked me for my honesty. At that moment she recognized me. I've been coming to this nail salon for months, with no issues at all. Im not a complainer and I'm never rude to any technician. I think based on our past interactions she knew I wasn't the problem. She apologized on the technicians behalf, even taking $10 off my total, with I thought was nice. Again, this was the last visit. I refused to let one bad experience prevent me from coming to a great salon, with talented nail techs. Thy is amazing, very sweet, and professional. She did my nails beautifully, and I was done within a half hour. She corrected the shoddy work that was done the last time, and they look amazing. This is why I am rating 5 stars again. That and the fact the other technician isn't my usual experience. Im not sure if she's new, or was having a bad day, but again...that was an outlier on my usual experience here. Now, I don't remember the name of the other technician, but I have a photogenic memory and if I see that she's the person being asked to do my nails, I will kindly ask for someone else and wait.

Lan was my nail tech, and I highly recommend her! She was very attentive and listened to what I wanted for my nails (file only a little, even shape, and one coat of gel for a natural finish). Her technique was also great -- I have no cuts or burns from the cuticle clipper or file.. and my gel is very evenly applied!
