This was bittersweet for me, as Keyport Fishery was always near and dear to my heart for deep fried seafood goodness. Pinky's came highly-recommended, so we gave it a shot while on the island. Outside doesn't look like much but that's part of the draw and charm, in my opinion. Inside is spotless, clean, and there is seafood galore on display. The same were incredibly welcoming, attentive, and kind. They were hustling and filling orders with smiles on their faces all the while. We opted for the fried shrimp and scallops, as well as the clam chowder. The chowder was absolutely incredible. Rich, creamy, smooth/not grainy, and packed with clams. The shrimp and scallops were perfectly-cooked, fried to a beautiful crispy golden brown. Seafood was tender and not overcooked. Pinky's is a great spot for some fresh seafood. After looking over their menu online, my boyfriend and I ordered two clam chowders - both great, a lobster salad roll and the seafood combo. The only complaint I have is that everything was really under seasoned. All in all, that's not the worst thing, I'd rather add a little salt myself then have it be unbearably over salted. So that's what we did, just added a little seasoning to everything. The baked potatoes as sides were both great too. The chowders had a ton of clam meat as well. My lobster salad roll was piled high with fresh meat. It was actually enough for two meals. My boyfriends platter was also really good. We have been to Pinky's multiple times over the year for both seafood and their prepared dishes. This weekend we purchased their PEI mussels and littleneck clams. Classic LBI vibe. Nothing like a nice seafood snack/ meal after the beach or pool time. The cape codder is a more than generous portion and priced on point. The fries are seriously the best I have ever had. The cod is breaded to perfection. I enjoyed 12 clams on the half shell.they were so fresh and delish. Stayed in Holgate and wanted some clams to cook at the house. Found Pinky's sells raw clams by the dozen for a really great price for both Topnecks and Littlenecks. From Saturday to Saturday, we must've ordered close to 750 clams in total. The topnecks are perfect for grilling/steaming while Littlenecks were also good, but prefer to use them sauted in a dish. The clams here are very fresh and definitely recommend soaking them in water for an hour before cooking. Very nice people, great customer service. Must call ahead to pick up. read more

I was on Long Beach Island on Friday for work. Here's the deal on Long Beach Island, if you are not familiar. There's only one road on and one road off, Route 72. One roadway runs down the center of the island, do I have to tell you, Long Beach Boulevard. So it's lunch time and there seems to be hundreds of restaurants along the Boulevard. I saw "Pinky's" and decided this would be my lunch stop today. Pinky's is mostly a seafood market that serves food, almost as an afterthought. About six lovely ladies running the business. So I ask " by any chance do you have a lobster roll "? A nice lady says "of course". So she takes my order and asks my name. I'm the only one there but OK. Next, she asks for the first initial of my last name. Just in case there's more than one Michael waiting. OK I can do this. I pay and ask where the rest room is. I'm told it's outside. Oh boy, this makes me nervous because I'm concerned it's a porta potty. No it's a real bathroom. In fact the young lady who took my order and my name offers to take me to it. OMG why do these type of things always happen to me. I come back and my lobster roll is waiting. Forget everything thing I just said because this is a super lobster roll. No shortage of lobster in this roll. It was overflowing with huge chunks of lobster held together with just the right amount of mayo. Roll was slightly toasted. PERFECT. Slight problem, only outside seating but it just rained so tables are wet. Had to eat in my car, but this Lobster Roll was so good it didn't matter where I ate it. Will I go back? Well I'm not a fan of LBI, as the locals call it, but if someone holds a gun to my head and I'm forced to go back, I would definitely eat here again. You ask why I'm not a fan of LBI? When it rains, and it did on this day, most streets flood out, including the only main road. Took me TWO HOURS to get off the island. Three more hours to get home. read more

We had our last meal at Pinky Shrimp's tonight. I had clam strips (with coleslaw and fries) & clam chowder and my husband had the cheeseburger. The clam chowder had sand in it and it wasn't as good as it has been in the past. It was too thin - where in the past it has been kind of thick and creamy. The clam strips were okay but the coleslaw was awful. The fries were okay but they're nothing to write home about. But the really horrible, inedible thing was my husband's cheeseburger. The menu plainly says the burgers are cooked MEDIUM and we even confirmed that when we called in the order. The burger was so dense and overcooked that my husband threw it away. I have never seen him throw away a burger before. The quality of the beef was very low grade and the meat had no flavor. The burger should never have been allowed to leave the kitchen, which tells me they have very poor quality control - or possibly no quality control. We were also very offended by the recorded message where some guy said something to the effect of "We can't take your call right now but hold on and one of our "Pinky Girls" will be right with you." Pinky girls??!! Where has this guy been that he thinks it's okay to refer to part of his staff as "Pinky Girls." I'm sure he thinks it's clever but it's not. It's offense and off putting to women everywhere. I mentioned it to the person who took our order and she said that the staff and many people have complained but it doesn't do any good. Maybe if he starts losing business he will care! We paid $50 for mediocre to really bad food and we won't take a chance on it happening again. read more

My only complaint is that the portions are not large enough compared to the size (with exception to items such as 1lb of crab legs etc). Big decision where to order while in LBI. READ mixed reviews on Pinky's and was hesitant at first on ordering but we were willing to take a chance. Despite pandemic hiccups reviews, ours was a solid experience with some delicious surprises (homemade cocktail sauce which you need to specify that you need more- better than their tartar) everyone enjoyed their dinner including all fried and boiled seafood. Ive come here every year i go to LBI (which is almost every year)! Pros: their food is super fresh and is always tasty! Consistency means a lot to me with food, and this place is always amazing. I've driven by Pinky's several times and always thought it looked interesting ... finally acted on impulse last night and got some food from there. Kept it pretty simple ... hubs did ribs and stuffed mushrooms. The kid did a burger and fried"surprising" and I did snow crab clusters with shrimp a salad and baked potato. Hubs loved the mushroom caps abs ribs and my bounty was quite delicious. Except the shrimp was a little over cooked... and well that cocktail sauce could clear the Lincoln tunnel at noon. All in all it wasn't the cheapest meal we've had on LBI but definitely one of the better ones. I will for sure be coming back next time I'm down. read more

Only the tourists rate this above 3 stars! Every year or 2 we decide to try pinkys again and this was probably the worst yet. We placed an order for a cod sandwich, a crab cake sandwich and 12 fried shrimp (their "specialty"). Upon ordering one person said 35 minutes while the one next to her said an hour. We were assured we would recieve notification via our cell when the order was ready. We decided to run to the store for stuff for the house. About an hour later i went back and asked what the order status was. Apparently they forgot to notify us. I took my semi warm food and left. I wish that was the bad part. The cod was a decent size but extremely bland and the overly salted tarter sauce didn't help. As for the shrimp, they were also very bland, on the small side and worse, extremely overcooked. The crab cake was decent and the fries were the shining star. For the tourists, they forgot utensils, napkins and ketchup so make sure you ask. All in all, with an island full of decent places to eat don't waste your time or money here. read more
